The calm before the collaboration... Retna x Amanboroi (The Mentawai Tribe) // We had the honour of watching @retna work and plan his piece for our upcoming ‘Collaborations For Change’.. // A few decades ago, the Mentawai Tribe were outlawed by the Indonesian government and forced the find protection among the trees of the Siebrut rainforest off the coast of Western Sumatra. Their heritage, their traditions, their very way of life was nearly lost forever but the Indigenous Education Foundation (@iefprograms) and local communities supported their effort to revive the culture so it will survive. Now, @retna, @kobrastreetart and others are working with @apartial to support this mission.. // Thanks @imresin @trikxpikx1 @fashiongio.. // #retna #margraves #indigenous #indonesia #tribe //

"You May Be Raising The World's Next King" by @herakut // Screenprint of this stunning piece is nearly sold out over on Herakut.de... // We worked with Viola, a 16-year-old mother who was forced to grow up far too quickly when she had to flee South Sudan. Her parents were slaughtered with machetes before she sought refuge in Northern Uganda. She was nine months pregnant with Mary as she made the journey to Bidi Bidi Refugee Settlement. She painted this piece to share her story and highlight the potential in the young people of South Sudan who are being ignored by the western world. // #streetart #refugee #graffiti #africa // Thanks to @hera_herakut @akut_herakut @herakut //

A little look back at our piece with Mark Jenkins and ‘The Liberian Ghost Ship’... // "Three attempts at installing one of @jenki.ns figure were blocked by rising tides and strong swells so we headed out for number four as the sun appeared the next day. It became “Figure VS Nature” as we watched waves disrupt the shore while the team struggled to shove the wooden frame into the sand. Suddenly it was secure and the faceless figure seemed to be pushing the unwanted ship back to where it came from..." //

"The team started by outlining Martin’s grey tones to learn the basics of using a brush. They worked together to keep it as accurate possible as they would regularly surround the piece with 3 painters and twice as many “advisors” pointing out potential blunders. There was something undeniably admirable about watching the team aim for perfection in this entirely new undertaking. Next came the addition of Martin’s iconic vibrant graffiti. There was a sudden feeling of success when the first layer of colour hit the wall. The team’s confidence levels rose as the piece came to life and they saw the potential in the project. This little splash of colour drew everyone’s attention to the beauty of this neglected site which has now become known as the “Lady on the Lake”. . . // @martinwhatson for our Liberia Project // More from Martin coming in our next project, ‘Collaborations For Change’.. Coming soon.. //

The Puerto Rico Project.. We headed to help out after Hurricane Maira this day last year.. // “An abandoned basketball court transformed into a community centre inspired by Okuda..” // We teamed up with @okudart, @inkandmovement, @savethechildren and the people of Puerto Rico to pull together this project. Now, the community have taken control and made it their own so they can host celebrations, competitions and more. They have even gone one step further and spread some colour to other areas to inspire hope in more Puerto Ricans. They are still struggling with the devastation caused by Hurricane Maria but the community is positive and full of energy.. // Thanks to everyone who has supported our projects over the last few years: @conorsaysboom @maserart @faileart @hera_herakut @herakut @akut_herakut @jr @insideoutproject @einesigns @martinwhatson @tedpim @jenki.ns @1010zzz @sandrachevrier @seth_globepainter @felipepantone @slinkachu_official //

The Hut with @felipepantone // Our last project brought us back to Liberia to build a space where the community can create their own artwork and the surfers can repair their boards. Felipe Pantone designed the exterior and the local surfers took on the task of painting their new home. Now, the local team are creating their own work..// The land for this latest project was donated by @kwepunhasurfcamp as they continue to support and encourage the local surf community // // //
