A pretty thorough routine tonight, on an “off Tretinoin” day. Wanted to use some gentle acids to slough off any dryness that’s been plaguing me. I actually ran out of eye cream (!!) and was inspired by the interview on @fullcoveragepod with Catherine Gore from @biossance and so of course I decided to try their Squalane and Marine Algae eye cream. Everything about this company is what I want corporations to be - sustainable, caring about the future of the environment, trying to do good for the world, they engineered a Malaria cure and gave 120 million royalty free doses to people in Sub Saharan Africa... Most importantly, for their skincare, their ingredients are high quality and their formulas work well. I haven’t used the eye cream more than a few times, but I already love it! It’s rich and soothing, sinks into skin without feeling greasy and skin feels plumper after use. All the packaging is recyclable and the paper is made from 100% sustainable sugarcane produced fibers. I am in no way affiliated with them but I was really impressed when I did some more research on the company. Looking forward to trying more products from them ❤️🐇 #skincare #skincareforlife #skincareaddict #skincarecommunity #ILoveSkincare #skincareroutine #365inskincare #DrySkinIsBannedFromMyLife #SelfCare #skincarejunkie #CrueltyFree #TruthInBeauty #AlwaysWearSPF #biossance #SnowFox #missha #snowmushroom #volition #serums #facialoil #tarte #katesomerville #squalane #tatcha #paulaschoice #drunkelephant

I’ve been trying out the Ordinary Squalane cleanser which I’ve been liking but YES EVERYONE IS RIGHT I am going through it very quickly and they need to make it in a bigger size. I put it on dry skin, rub around and then rinse off with a muslin cloth and it works as both a first and second cleanse. Doesn’t dry out skin and removes makeup well. I love those kind of face washes! The size is good for traveling but the 150ml size is better for everyday use 😀 Also, the Paula’s Choice makeup remover is my favorite so far - never stingy, removes everything thoroughly and no fragrance. Excellent product ❤️ #skincare #skincareforlife #skincareaddict #skincarecommunity #ILoveSkincare #skincareroutine #365inskincare #DrySkinIsBannedFromMyLife #SelfCare #skincarejunkie #CrueltyFree #TruthInBeauty #AlwaysWearSPF #stratiaskin #marabeauty #missha #snowmushroom #volition #serums #facialoil #drunkelephant #theordinary #deciem #squalanecleanser #paulaschoice

eyecreamofgenie. My husband kindly gifted me a PTR mask set for our anniversary, howeve

My husband kindly gifted me a PTR mask set for our anniversary, however, when I opened the masks, they were all dried out and had to be returned 😟 The sales lady talked me into getting the Volition Snow Mushroom Serum and I wanted to give it a few days before I wrote about it. Turns out, I absolutely love it. I mean, Snow Mushroom sounds so exotic, right? But the ingredients are all up to snuff on hydration and moisture - I thought it was going to just be a fancy HA serum, but it actually feels quite comforting when you put it on, as well as plumps up those fine lines and keeps my skin moisturized throughout the day & night. The container pops up as you unscrew it and then comes out in a dropper with just the right amount for your face and neck, so that a nice innovation. Along with the serum, she gave me a sample of their ACV and AHA toning pads, which have a lot of Witch Hazel in them and did make me skin a little red directly after using them. The closest Acid product I would compare is the Biologique Recherche P50, as it has the same sort of reaction to my skin and then in the morning everything looked great! Sunday Spa night FTW - a good night to relax to give everything a little re-jiggering 🧖‍♀️ 😀😀 It’s a few steps, but I particularly like the Rescue Mask followed by the Glam Glow moisture mask... The rescue mask can be a little drying so adding a moisture mask on top always helps to keep skin well balanced. After masking, I added in the Neurophroline serum as an experiment - it’s supposed to help with cortisol and reducing redness and inflammation 😀 I think of it more as a calming and moisturizing step. Then, some retinol and May Lindstrom to seal everything in for the night 🌝 @snowfoxskincare @eve_lom @maylindstromskin @glamglow @gardenofwisdomskin @drunkelephant @lixirskin @paulaschoice #skincare #skincareforlife #skincareaddict #skincarecommunity #ILoveSkincare #skincareroutine #365inskincare #DrySkinIsBannedFromMyLife #SelfCare #skincarejunkie #CrueltyFree #TruthInBeauty #AlwaysWearSPF #maylindstrom #serums #bluecocoon #facialoil #evelom #snowfox #glamglow #drunjelepgant #lalaretro #retinol #lixirskin #Rescuemask #BHA #paulaschoice

eyecreamofgenie. My mom is visiting for the week so we clearly needed a trip to Ulta 😋

My mom is visiting for the week so we clearly needed a trip to Ulta 😋 The sales lady was giving us the spiel about the Juice Beauty Exfoliating peel spray and so we said “I’ll take three!” and proceeded to grab as many as we could... cut to tonight when I couldn’t try it out fast enough. I’ve done the Boscia exfoliating FDL peel before and actually returned it as it would always ball up in my peach fuzz and it was such a pain to get off that it wasn’t worth the nice skin afterwards 😬 This spray, however, is a little different. You spray it directly on your face, wait a few seconds, and then begin massaging it around where the dead skin and exfoliant end up peeling into little balls and slough off all the gross top layer. I didn’t love that when you spray it, it obviously goes on your eye lids too, but since you wash it off with water (and I had my eyes closed), it didn’t end up mattering. I had soft, smooth, glowy skin afterwards and was excited to move onto my Tretinoin and moisturizers. I did feel it was pretty thorough, so probably only a 1x week treatment going forwards, but an exciting product none the less. From their website: a proprietary blend of fruit stem cells which have been infused into an organic resveratrol-rich grapeseed base PLUS • Improves skin luminosity with vitamin C • Visibly brightens with ascorbic acid and licorice root extract • Soothes with cucumber extract & organic aloe @deciem @Juicebeauty @snowfoxskincare @stratiaskin @misshaus #skincare #skincareforlife #skincareaddict #skincarecommunity #ILoveSkincare #skincareroutine #365inskincare #DrySkinIsBannedFromMyLife #SelfCare #skincarejunkie #CrueltyFree #TruthInBeauty #AlwaysWearSPF #exfoliatingpeelspray #squalane #serums #theordinary #squalanecleanser #facialoil #missha #juicebeauty #timerevolution #retinol #tretinoin #stratia #liquidgold

For some reason, maybe because I’ve been using retinol for a few years now, but my skin isn’t bothered with a combo of chemical exfoliators and OTC retinol. I actually love the combo, skin feels fresh and clear in the morning. I noticed a blemish that was probably going to become quite large and irritated over night, but this combo actually helped the inflamed skin go down and it was much much better in the morning! Barely noticeable and won’t come to a head. I know some people don’t believe that skin care works, but I know these products are the real deal 😀 @lixirskin @Paulaschoice @algenist @eve_lom @deciem @misshaus #skincare #skincareforlife #skincareaddict #skincarecommunity #ILoveSkincare #skincareroutine #365inskincare #DrySkinIsBannedFromMyLife #SelfCare #skincarejunkie #CrueltyFree #TruthInBeauty #AlwaysWearSPF #paulaschoice #lixirskin #radiancemaak #evelom #algenist #serums #theordinary #nmfcream #facialoil #missha #evelom #timerevolution #retinol #bha

eyecreamofgenie. Product review! Murad Replenishing Multi-Acid Peel
$65 on Sephora.com

Product review! Murad Replenishing Multi-Acid Peel $65 on Sephora.com If anyone asks me what my ride or die skin care product is (aside from sunscreen) I always tell them the Paula’s Choice 2% BHA Liquid as it is one of the only products where I can see a noticeable difference in my skin the next morning. Most skincare results take T-I-M-E to work (or in the case of anti-oxidants, only revealed after repeated years of use) and the BHA exfoliant shows results the next day. ❤️❤️❤️ Clear, glowy skin and a significant reduction in breakouts?!? What is this magic?!?! So of course I was intrigued by this new Murad peel as it has a plethora of exfoliants including AHA (Glycolic, Malic, Lactic), BHA (Salicyclic) and TXA (Transxamic) acids to exfoliate both your pores and the dead skin cells that build up as we get older than the ripe age of 7. It has no fragrance, applies similarly to the PC BHA Liquid (dries down quick but can leave slight stickiness) and works well under moisturizer. But would it work as well as my beloved BHA 2%? Well, I woke up with very clear, glowy skin the next day. No redness, no dryness. I was truly impressed! I would say it’s most similar to the Biologique P50, because of the mix of acids, but without all the irritation 🤣 @peterthomasroth @snowfoxskincare @drunkelephant @algenist @eve_lom @muradskincare @misshaus #skincare #skincareforlife #skincareaddict #skincarecommunity #ILoveSkincare #skincareroutine #365inskincare #DrySkinIsBannedFromMyLife #SelfCare #skincarejunkie #CrueltyFree #TruthInBeauty #AlwaysWearSPF #drunkelephant #ctango #rescuemask #evelom #snowfox #serums #peterthomasroth #facialoil #agenist #murad #missha #evelom #timerevolution #waterdrench

eyecreamofgenie. Another TJ Maxx bargain I saw and immediately snapped up is the EV Lom

Another TJ Maxx bargain I saw and immediately snapped up is the EV Lom Rescue mask which I tried out for the first time tonight. Wow, it smells heavily of camphor! If that is not a fragrance that you meld with, this is definitely not for you. From their website, it is a clay‑based, deep cleansing treatment mask that helps boost overall skin condition and stimulate the circulation of tired, dull skin. I found it dried down pretty quickly, I only left it on for about 5 minutes rather than the recommended 15, but skin felt tightened and smooth after wards. I made sure to do a lot of hydrating afterwards, but skin looks and feels smooth and glowy this morning. I didn’t have any blemishes to worry about, but I imagine this would help with any oncoming ones as well. The full 3.4oz size is $85, so don’t know if that is money well spent, but for the half size at $19.99 this was a perfect addition to my bathroom 😃 @peterthomasroth @tartecosmetics @snowfoxskincare @drunkelephant @algenist @eve_lom #skincare #skincareforlife #skincareaddict #skincarecommunity #ILoveSkincare #skincareroutine #365inskincare #DrySkinIsBannedFromMyLife #SelfCare #skincarejunkie #CrueltyFree #TruthInBeauty #AlwaysWearSPF #drunkelephant #ctango #rescuemask #evelom #snowfox #serums #peterthomasroth #facialoil #youthordare

eyecreamofgenie. Product review
Paula’s Choice Power Berry Serum & Azelaic Acid 10%
I

Product review Paula’s Choice Power Berry Serum & Azelaic Acid 10% I am already a big fan of Paula’s Choice products, so when I finally purchased these two products, I was excited by the unique properties they each offer skin. The Power Berry serum ($31) is a 95% natural blend of “super fruits” (açaí, goji berry, raspberry and blueberry) into a lightweight anti-oxidant serum. I use this in the morning as my Vitamin C step, and while I was nervous to replace a straight up Vitamin C, this is a fabulous serum. First of all, it’s straight up pink, which aside from its novelty, shows the use of berries in the formula. Second, it’s silky, sinks right in, plays well with others and skin feels hydrated and prepped for my moisturizer and sunscreen on top. I am truly impressed with this serum and look forward to using it everyday. The 10% Azelaic Acid ($36) is an ingredient that’s been around for awhile but was only available by prescription or a few higher end creams as the formula was a proprietary ingredient. Now that it’s come into the public domain, a few companies have used it as a single ingredient (E.g. The Ordinary, Garden of Wisdom) which are fine and good intros to this magical ingredient. However, the Paula’s Choice formula includes Azelaic Acid, Salicylic Acid, Adenosine, Allantoin, Boerhavia diffusa root extract, Glycyrrhiza Glabra (Licorice) Root Extract to make it more of an advanced serum. It has a thick white texture, and when you apply it, you can tell it has a bit o’ silicone as it sits on top of your skin for a second before it sinks in. It evens out tone and helps clear up acne (including post-pigmentation redness!) and just makes skin more bright and clear. I absolutely love it and although I was a die hard Ordinary fan, I actually like this formula better and feel the slightly higher price point is worth it. #skincare #skincareforlife #skincareaddict #skincarecommunity #ILoveSkincare #skincareroutine #365inskincare #DrySkinIsBannedFromMyLife #SelfCare #skincarejunkie #CrueltyFree #TruthInBeauty #AlwaysWearSPF #paulaschoice #azelaicacid #superberry @paulaschoice

Visited a new Derm today and it turns out I have developed an allergy to my wedding rings 😂😂 Nickel allergies are apparently extremely common and even if you wear your rings for 80 years you can still develop an allergy out of the blue 💙 I have to use a steroid cream and avoid contact with skin 😕 She also gave me a new Tretinoin prescription and reminded me to wear SPF 30 or greater every day. And add in that Retin A when you can! Adding back in the DE Lala cream has been great along with the Tretinoin, skin feels so protected and moisturized! After a few days of skin “rest” I’m back to a light exfoliation routine. Although I’ve mentioned I’m not a loyal Sunday Riley Good Genes user, I do like that’s it one of the only Lactic Acid treatments available for exfoliation. Since my skin tends to be dry, the Lactic form of AHA works well with my skin to keep it hydrated and plump. It is also less irritating then Glycolic (because the molecular size is larger) so I never get any redness. I also like that it isn’t stinky sour milk as some people have used over the past few generations to exfoliate their skin, thank goodness for technology! 😂 I’m doing an experiment and using it for three days in a row to see what happens with skin reactions. Will it be too much? Too little? Or perhaps the Goldilocks treatment we’ve all been wishing for. I haven’t had time to go and get a proper facial in quite awhile, so I looked through my skincare cabinet and pulled out all the stops tonight. I needed to exfoliate away some dullness as well as hydrate some areas that are looking pretty lackluster. These products work well together and adding in a candle and some relaxing music ala YouTube, I feel like I was able to get in a proper facial without having to book an appointment anywhere 🙌🙌 + Double Cleanse - Remove makeup with Eve Lom cleanser followed by SnowFox Cleansing foam + Drunk Elephant Babyfacial + Kate Somerville Wrinkle Warrior Skin Plumping mask (found at TJ Max for $20!) + SnowFox Cucumber Recovery Toner + Paula’s Choice SuperBerry Serum for antioxidants + The Ordinary Granactive Retinoid 5% in Squalane + Peter Thomas Roth Water Drench Serum (as a Hyaluronic Acid Serum) + The Inkey List Polyglutamic Acid (I find this and an HA serum work wonders together) + Drunk Elephant Shaba Eye Cream + La Roche Posay Cicaplast B5 Baume + SnowFox Herbal Youth oil + May Lindstrom Blue Cocoon around eyes, mouth and middle of forehead + Jordan Samuel washcloth (I’ve found the key to cleaning these is to use warm water and Dawn liquid soap - gets out all the mascara stains and when I air dry the cotton stays soft and fabulous 😀 (More in comments)

Now that PHA serums have become more mainstream, I am loving this one by LixirSkin. More gentle than an AHA, this PHA/AHA combo makes skin feel soft and still moisturized once I wake up in the morning. eyecreamofgenie. New Product!!!!! Garden of Wisdom Neurophroline Serum
I love love love

New Product!!!!! Garden of Wisdom Neurophroline Serum I love love love Gill’s monthly newsletters for @victoriahealth and although I know she is trying to sell us their products, she does it in the perfect way where you feel like she is just your friend recommending things that she loves... so of course I had to go ahead and purchase the Garden of Wisdom Neurophroline Serum. Do I need another serum? Do I need one I can barely pronounce? Do I need one where I have it shipped all the way from the UK? Absolutely not, but I had to see what all the fuss was about. I’ve used a few of their products, and besides the smell of the Prickly Pear Seed oil, I’ve generally liked their stuff so far. Basic, but good price that works and that’s all that really matters 😀 So I’ve only used it a few times in the AM after my Vitamin C layer which replaces an HA serum. Skin feels plump and the hydration it adds is #TheRealDeal. I then proceed to add in my moisturizer and SPF and go about my day. I love how hydrated my skin feels and I always love something that claims to take away your stress, even if it’s from the outside layer of skin. I will do a follow up review once I’ve used it a few more times but so far so good 🤗 @stratiaskin @snowfoxskincare @drunkelephant @gardenofwisdomskincare @tartecosmetics #skincare #skincareforlife #skincareaddict #skincarecommunity #ILoveSkincare #skincareroutine #365inskincare #DrySkinIsBannedFromMyLife #SelfCare #skincarejunkie #CrueltyFree #TruthInBeauty #AlwaysWearSPF #drunkelephant #stratiaskin #liquidgold #tarte #youthordare #snowfox #serums #neurophroline #gardenofwisdom #facialoil

eyecreamofgenie. Recently, I’ve heard/seen/watched a number of people talk about facial

Recently, I’ve heard/seen/watched a number of people talk about facial oils and how they are nice to have but not a true “hydrator” for skin. This may be true as oil doesn’t have any water in it and so it merely adds a layer of oil to skin instead of actually adding moisture in, but now that I’ve been using them for a few years now, I have to say I love the feeling of them on top of all my other skincare steps. It truly feels like I’ve sealed everything in and skin feels more plump in the morning. Tonight, I am using Undefined Beauty oil which has a small amount of CBD oil - although the jury is still out that CBD is a “miracle” oil, it does have anti-inflammatory benefits and can help skin calm down, especially if over exfoliated or redness from post-acne marks. This one has a light texture and a light rose scent, so sensitive-to-fragrance-people beware! Adding this one at the end of a Tretinoin routine especially helps any flakiness that may occur (for me) as any additional layer of calming ingredients is never bad IMHO 😀 @peterthomasrothofficial @snowfoxskincare @drunkelephant @tatcha @undefinedbeauty_co #skincare #skincareforlife #skincareaddict #skincarecommunity #ILoveSkincare #skincareroutine #365inskincare #DrySkinIsBannedFromMyLife #SelfCare #skincarejunkie #CrueltyFree #TruthInBeauty #AlwaysWearSPF #drunkelephant #tatcha #deepcleanse #tretinoin #waterdrench #snowfox #undefinedbeauty #cbdoil #facialoil

eyecreamofgenie. Thank you everyone who chimed in about the Omorovicza Thermal Cleansin

Thank you everyone who chimed in about the Omorovicza Thermal Cleansing Balm - it’s much better now using a washcloth to remove it. Skin feels soft and nourished and I only need to do one cleanse with it now 😀 I finally ran out of my Paula’s Choice 1% Retinol so I’m trying out the LixirSkin 1% Retinol to see how it compares. The bottle is so small! But you just mix a pump or two in with your moisturizer and so a little goes a long way. I never had any irritation with the PC version so I’m hoping this works well, especially because The Ordinary NMF has always been so easy and comforting on my skin. I added a dab of the 4% BHA to an incoming blemish so that should take care of it by tomorrow morning 😜 #HighBrowAndLowBrow @lixirskin @paulaschoice @snowfoxskin @deciem @drunkelephant @omorovicza skincare #skincareforlife #skincareaddict #skincarecommunity #ILoveSkincare #skincareroutine #365inskincare #DrySkinIsBannedFromMyLife #SelfCare #skincarejunkie #CrueltyFree #TruthInBeauty #AlwaysWearSPF #omorovicza #hungarianthermalwater #thermalcleansingbalm #paulaschoice #bha #drunkelephant #deciem #snowfox #retinol #lixirskin

eyecreamofgenie. I have a question for anyone that’s used the Omorovicza Thermal Cleans

I have a question for anyone that’s used the Omorovicza Thermal Cleansing Balm: How do you use it?!?! I’ve tried it a few ways now and I CANNOT REMOVE IT unless I do a second cleanse or with a microfiber cloth... and after reading other reviews I feel like I am missing something! A number of people said they use it and then don’t cleanse after as they let the “mud” work its magic. I want to love it - I like the fragrance and the application and how my skin feels afterwards but the lack of being able to remove it is troubling 🤔🤔 The rest of the routine, including Rx Tret, SnowFox Essence and Facial Oil, DE Shaba and PTR Cloud Cream are per usual awesome 😀😀 #skincare #skincareforlife #skincareaddict #skincarecommunity #ILoveSkincare #skincareroutine #365inskincare #DrySkinIsBannedFromMyLife #SelfCare #skincarejunkie #CrueltyFree #TruthInBeauty #AlwaysWearSPF #omorovizca #hungarianthermalwater #thermalcleansingbalm #snowfox #peterthomasroth #cloudcream #drunkelephant #shabaeye
