I love cycling and usually attend a class on Mondays(1 hour class) but I’ve been away at military school/training in Kentucky. ▫️ I’ve been targeting legs and back twice a week. A day when I do a full body training and a day that includes a full 30-40 minutes of core training. I train shoulders, triceps, and biceps once a week. 1-2 days of rest. I know I said it before but I truly mean it when I say to not focus on the results because they will come. Make small changes and just get started. Soon those little changes will equal big results. When you start to see the results of your disciplined lifestyle you will want to keep going, and that is what’s going to keep you motivated. I know you can do this because I did it. I believe in you, and as soon as you start to set and achieve those small goals(like simply drinking more water), you will too❤️ ▫️ Save this simple, yet effective shoulder workout to try on your next upper body day! 😊 ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ 1️⃣ Warm up with weighted arm circles: This doesn’t have to be heavy and weights aren’t really needed. 10 circles to the front and then 10 circles to the rear: 3 sets 2️⃣ One Arm Side Lateral Raise: I challenged myself by keeping one arm up while the other arm is working. Take the dumbbell and raise it with your other arm until it is at shoulder height and parallel to the floor.(10 reps, 4 sets) 3️⃣ Standing Overhead Press: Stand straight up with your feet around shoulder width apart. Raise the dumbbells to shoulder height on each side, with palms facing forward. Slow and controlled when lowering the dumbbells and engage your core(8 reps, 4 sets) 4️⃣Bent Over Single Arm Cable Rear Delt Fly: Be sure to place the pulley low position, below your knees. Begin with your arms crossed out in front of you. You will be crossing your arms under your body until your arm is shoulder height.(10 reps, 4 sets) 5️⃣Seated High Cable Rows for Rear Delts: I performed this with a bar instead of a rope. You will be able to get your elbows much higher if you use a rope. GO SLOW: Most of the time, when we decide to start a new workout routine it's because we're motivated to do it. It's great to have motivation but it can be a double-edged sword. ▫️ Why? First, because motivation fluctuates. This means you can't rely on it. That's why you want to build good habits instead of getting motivated. ▫️ But secondly, motivation can fool you into biting off more than you can chew. In the beginning, you want to start slow. Remember, the goal is to get in the habit of doing the workouts, not to do intense workouts. ▫️ Here’s a great lower body workout. Swipe & Save for later 😊 ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ 1: Sumo Deadlift: it’s a effective deadlifting movement to increase upper back, hamstrings, glutes, and trap development. (8 reps, 3 sets) 2: Heels Elevated Goblet Squat: Elevating your heels is great if you’ve had a history of knee pain. Elevating your heels targets the Quads more and elevating your toes targets your hamstrings more 😊 (10 reps, 3 set) 3: Cable Pull Through: Be sure bend at the waist and sit your hips back until your torso is at a 45-degree angle. Explosively extend your hips to stand up to the starting position. (20 reps, 3 sets) 4: Leg Extension (Drop set: Perform 8 reps with a challenging weight then reduce the weight three times and perform with 12, 15, then 20 reps or until you reach failure. 2 sets) 5: Walking Lunges: Instead of taking steps forward, I take mine slightly to the left and right because it elevates the pressure off my knees. (10-15 reps on each leg, 4 sets) ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ I’ll be back with another instructional video soon.
