✨It’s so funny how timing works out sometimes✨ ⠀⠀ I found this quote the other day and it really resonated with me. Well today, I had a benchmark day at Orangetheory! For anyone who doesn’t know, a benchmark day is where we repeat the same benchmark every few months to track our progress. Today was the mile. I am so not a natural runner. It is something I fight for every time I hop on the tread! Normally I walk and jog, barely getting through. Today was different though. My mental game changed. Today, I ran the WHOLE MILE! The whole thing, without stopping. In fact I didn’t slow down at all, instead I had a steady increase in speed. I kept giving myself an out, saying I deserved the break etc. But I also told myself that I could do it. And I did. I kept going long after I thought I couldn’t! Today I ran a mile! ⠀⠀ ✨What have you pushed through lately?✨
Hi friends! Thought 💭 I’d give a little explanation of what I do⤵️! I am certified through the MacDonald Center for Obesity Prevention and Education📖 📚 . I have been helping people get healthy for over a year, after having gone through my own health transformation where I lost ⬇️ 38lbs and normalized my vitals, glucose and visceral fat all while struggling with PCOS 🎀! And to top it off, I have kept my weight off and remained healthy! Now I spend my time teaching elementary school and helping others around the world find their health and live their lives to the fullest! 🎉 Tell me a little something about you!
If you had told me a year ago about where I’d be today, I probably would have laughed at you! Yes, I was already on my journey, but I had no idea where I was going. I’m still forging ahead, but now the path is clear and the future is bright! I’m accepting new clients in July and can’t wait to live this life with you!⠀ ・・・⠀ #repost @happinesshappenswithinme⠀ ・・・⠀ Down 👇22lbs! I’m well on my way to a healthier and happier me! #2018sugarshotresults #health #askmehow #health #healthyliving
No, seriously. Did you read ☝🏼? Happiness is an inside job! You have to do the work to get there. Don’t expect other people or external things to fix it. I’ll tell you for me, I had hoped I would be happy in a new body, or with better finances, or when I moved cities, or was dating someone. Did those things help? Sure! But my true happiness, the kind that sticks around for more than a moment, came from making a mental shift and doing the work. For me, getting healthy wasn’t just about losing weight. It was about the mentality that came with it. The positivity. The overcoming obstacles. The community of likeminded people. The support of my friends and heath coaches. And the education. ⠀ ⠀ So, like I said, happiness is an inside job, so do the work, but you don’t have to do it alone. I’m here to walk beside you!
Happy 4th of July! Today is all about freedom and I’m celebrating my time freedom! I’ve been working hard to have the flexibility and freedom of time. So I’m fueling up for this patriotic day with a not-super-patriotic, prep-time-worthy breakfast (but still one of my favorites) 🙊 Today’s time is dedicated to a nice, long gym sesh, continuing my apartment clean out, laying by the pool, and maybe grilling some veggie skewers, and eating the juicy watermelon I bought yesterday 😅 Have a great holiday 🎉 ⠀⠀ How are you spending your 4th of July?
I finally cleaned out my closet today! All of this is going to be donated or consigned! It feels so good to clean house. It was tough while I was doing it, but it’s also so therapeutic. Some of these clothes are simply not my taste anymore, but most of them are too big! I lost weight I. Early 2018 and now I’ve kept it off for over a year! I think it’s safe to get rid of what doesn’t fit!
Sure, we’ve all seen incredible side by sides before, but I used to have the thought that they were doctored photos or it would work for others, but not for me. ⠀⠀ A few years ago, I was diagnosed with PCOS, and for those of you who don’t know, one of the side effects is that it is very difficult to lose weight. I tried everything I could imagine to lose the weight I was carrying around. From fad diets to gimmicks. I’ll let you in on a little secret, they never worked. I was miserable and often ended up bigger than when I started. ⠀⠀ A year and a half ago, I started this program. I swallowed my pride and asked for help from someone I had been following on Facebook who had helped so many others who had PCOS, hormonal imbalances, thyroid issues, diabetes and the list goes on. I was finally ready to give one more thing a try, hoping and praying that it would work. And boy did it ever! I lost 30lbs, but gained so much more. ⠀⠀ I gained confidence, not solely because of the weight-loss, but also from doing the mental work. See, anyone can lose weight. Looking yourself in the mirror and facing your excuses in order to change your habits, that’s the hard part! But when you do, when you actually make the mental shift, you get the results. I have kept my 30lbs off for over a year and I’m not going back! ⠀⠀ Now, I spend my time helping others lose their weight too. You don’t have to do it alone, and you shouldn’t have to. Asking for help is not a sign of weakness. Reach out, let’s do it together one day at a time!
Happy July! This means the year is halfway over! Say what?! ⠀⠀ Yep, we’ve done 6 months and we have 6 more to 2019! So how are you going to reassess, and grow? ⠀⠀ I break down my goals by day, week, month, quarter of the year and by the year. So pick and unit and share with me. ⠀⠀ What are your goals? Look for mine in the comments! ⠀⠀
Oooo Friday!! Today I am going to continue to adjust to this time zone, go to the gym, get my nails done and take care of some errands. I am also going to continue to clean my closet! It feels so incredible to clean out old clothes and fit into stuff from college! I’ll also get to spend time with close friends today. It’s going to be a good day! How are you spending your last Friday in June?
Woah 😱 look at Amy she looks like a completely different person. In the best way! ⠀ ⠀⠀⠀ March 17, 2018 was the day she took her life back. She was scared that she was going to fail again. Little did she know that she would end up losing 141 pounds in just 15 months🎊🎉. She has started transitioning from the weight loss phase of our program and into her lifelong healthy eating plan🍎🥦 and for the first time in her life she is looking forward to exercising🏃♀️. She says she will be forever grateful to her amazing health coach for sharing this program with her.⠀ ⠀⠀⠀ That’s exactly what I’m doing, I’m sharing this with you because incredible things are possible!
I landed back in LA at 6am this morning! By the time I got home it was around 7:30. Normally, I go to the gym with my crew at 9:30, but wasn’t sure if I was up for it today. I thought about it and decided, I am so worth it. I love the way I feel when I workout and it would also probably help with my jet lag to get back to a routine. Well... I went to my car and it wouldn’t start! I guess that can happen when you’ve been on vacation for a month! I could have used this as an excuse not to go, but I made a quick switch and took a Lyft to the gym. Then it got me thinking 🤔 ⠀ 💪🏼 I am so glad I made a commitment to myself to get healthy last year! I started by losing weight by changing my eating habits then continued my health journey by adding in consistent exercise that makes me feel good!⠀ 💰 I am incredibly thankful that I have the finances to be able to make a quick pivot and take a ride to my gym. AND that I can afford to go to a luxury gym!⠀ 🚙 I’m so glad that getting my car jumped wasn’t a financial hurdle for me. Thanks to coaching, my finances are healthy too, just like my mind and body!⠀ ⠀ So here you have it, a sweaty selfie 🤳 of me, feeling so grateful for what I have, proud of myself for staying committed to my health, glowing post workout 🏋🏽♀️, all in the back of my Lyft home!
