Today was not easy. Or let me reframe this - training today was not easy. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ I was by myself. I can tell I’m out of shape and movements that usually feel so light or easy for me just straight burn. It hurts. The workout was hard. My mind keeps telling me its okay to stop no one is around to hold me accountable. It’s only September, Games is so far away. But in this moment I keep fighting my mind just one more minute… One more set. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ The hardest part about fitness is getting back into it and I can tell you what… Elite athlete or not. We all feel the same. You are not alone. It won’t be easy at first, but just keep showing up every single day and I promise you will feel start to feel better. Start with small goals and make those little goals bigger and bigger over time. It will take discipline and work, but know you can do it. We’re all struggling one way or another, but how we persevere through it is how we can all be #CraftedByDiscipline. Remember, you are #GrownStrong. 👊

Very vulnerable to my heart but something I thought I would share ❤️ ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ For me, I started this thing called CrossFit in high school. High school was probably one of the hardest stages in my life because it was so easy to fall into the peer pressure like everyone else, but I refused to follow the crowd like everyone else. I would rather stay in at night than go to a party because I knew I had to go to the gym the next day. The boys made fun of me for being too muscular and said I was on steroids. I learned to not listen to them at a young age. As hard as it was, it taught me to be strong in the face of obstacles and never let anyone tell me who I should be or what I should do with my life. When I’m lifting weights or trying to move faster in a workout, I feel 100% myself. I want every girl/woman to feel this way through fitness which is why I feel so lucky to use @grownstrong as a platform to inspire others to fight for their goals and what they believe in no matter their age or what obstacles they face.
