So this post is going to be a slippery slope because anytime #DietSoda is mentioned people freak the hell out. ⁣⁣ ⁣⁣ So before I go any further let me say this—I am not saying to drink copious amounts of diet soda per day. The vast majority of your liquid should come from water. ⁣⁣ ⁣⁣ But I have 2 points I want to talk about. ⁣⁣ ⁣⁣ 1) Adherence over everything. ⁣⁣ 2) The dose is what makes poison lethal. ⁣⁣ ⁣⁣ Too many people take an all or nothing approach to nutrition (diet soda is just this example). ⁣⁣ ⁣⁣ But here’s the thing, if a diet soda 1x/day out of the gallon of water you drink that’s really not a big deal. Yeah, me too. ⁣ ⁣ You know the best way to handle it without trying to find a cauliflower version Reese’s cups?⁣ ⁣ Eat some real sweets—just in moderation. ⁣ ⁣ You’d be shocked at how much a 200 calorie snickers bar fixes a chocolate craving. Don’t wait till you’re about to kill your family to get to some chocolate. ⁣ ⁣ —> MODERATION <—⁣ Literally, anything is okay to eat. ⁣ ⁣ Nothing should be off limits. ⁣ ⁣ Want some BBQ, a donut, candy, a beer, it doesn’t matter. ⁣ ⁣ Have it—just in moderation. ⁣ ⁣ —> A SLOW PACE <—⁣ Stop trying to lose 10lbs in 10 days. This game doesn’t work like that. ⁣ ⁣ Keep the pace slow & steady. ⁣ ⁣ If you focus more on sustainability & less on speed you’ll get progress faster.⁣ ⁣ —> CARBS <—⁣ Carbs aren’t why you can’t lose weight. Too many calories is why. ⁣ ⁣ We need carbs. Period. ⁣ ⁣ Also, I have yet to meet anyone who can maintain a low/zero carb diet for the next 20 years. ⁣ ⁣ It’s not healthy or sustainable. ⁣ ⁣ —> FOODS YOU ACTUALLY ENJOY <— ⁣ Stop eating shit you don’t like. ⁣ ⁣ If you get bored of the foods you’ve been eating just switch it up. ⁣ ⁣ You should love all the foods you eat. ⁣ ⁣ There are no magic food so stop foce feeding yourself foods you don't like.⁣ ⁣ —> NO EXTREMES <—⁣ Any extreme is bad. ⁣ ⁣ Cutting out all carbs, eating 100% perfect & healthy all the time, good/bad mentalities with food, no carbs, no fats, or marrying a specific diet is a fast track to failure. ⁣ ⁣ No extreme is good. ⁣ ⁣ —> NOT BEING PERFECT <—⁣ You don’t have to be perfect to achieve your goals, you just have to be consistent. ⁣ ⁣ Stop chasing perfection because it’s not a thing. ⁣ ⁣ In all honesty, if you don’t have to be perfect why even try to be? Carbs⁣ B. Late Night Snacks⁣ C. Donuts ⁣ D.
