Had a great little lower body workout this morning.... . Glute/band activation Walking lunges Leg press Leg extension BB Romanian deadlifts elevated DB goblet squats 5 rounds 10-12 reps . Struggled a bit with my runny nose! This cold is doing my head in!🤧 . Finished off with 30 minutes cardio on the treadmill & cross trainer 🥵 . The kettlebell swing is a hinge! Not a squat. The movement is very beneficial and helps to strengthen your core and hips, while also targeting coordination and almost every other part of the body. Drive through your heels, and don’t lift with your shoulders. THE ULTIMATE DEADLIFT CHECKLIST!! - What’s up Achievers?! @jasonlpak here and today we have a 6-part checklist for a perfect set of conventional deadlifts! - 1️⃣FEET HIP WIDTH APART AND BARBELL OVER MID-FOOT: In order to establish a strong base of support, start with your feet under your hips with toes forward or slightly flared out. Step up to the bar so that it’s close to your shins and over your mid-foot. - 2️⃣HINGE YOUR HIPS BACK: Initiate the deadlift by sitting back with your hips. This will help you to load your posterior chain (glutes and hamstrings) and get into a strong starting position. - 3️⃣GRAB THE BAR JUST OUTSIDE YOUR SHINS: The wider your hands, the greater the demand on your mid and upper back. Keeping your hands in closer will help make the pull feel easier than if they were out too wide. - 4️⃣ALIGN YOUR ARMPITS DIRECTLY OVER THE BAR: This will set you up for a more vertical and direct bar path, which makes the deadlift much more efficient. - 5️⃣PUSH INTO THE FLOOR AND STAND TALL: Instead of thinking about “lifting” the bar off the floor, think about “pushing” your feet into the ground. The harder you push down into the floor, the stronger your deadlift will be. Stand tall at the top and look straight ahead to practice good alignment. - 6️⃣INITIATE THE DESCENT WITH ANOTHER HIP HINGE: Once you’ve gotten to the top of the deadlift, lower it back down by hinging your hips back, loading your posterior chain again, and getting right back into your original starting position. - We hope this checklist helps you out the next time you’re going through a set of deadlifts! I call this pose; trying to be thicc but not knowing what to do w my arm >:( also don’t mind my nails lolol. . I hit upper today. . I DO THIS CIRCUIT BETWEEN ALL ISOLATED MUSCLE GROUP SETS. Adjust weight accordingly. . Bicep curls, 25s for 5, down to 12.5s for 15, back up to 25 for 3 (running man), down to 12.5 for 7, straight down into explosive tricep pushups, back to slow negative curls till failure. . BENT OVER ROWS VARIATION. . Grab a barbell. I go light, so I do 30s. Weight on heels, knees bent. Breath with the weight. 14 total reps, 7 each movement. Alternate between underhand row, straight into bent over bicep curl to chest. Switch hand placement immediately to overhand, same movement. I did this 3 times. . Do the arm circuit. . PRESS . Same barbell. 7 reps. Wide gripped press, tapping chest and gripping the barbell with your thumb over, not under the bar. Makes a huge difference. Straight into behind the head press. 7 reps. 3 sets. With each set, bring ur hands closer together. So start wide, then shoulder width, then narrow. . Do the arm circuit . Then some Arnold presses, hex presses, fly’s, pull-ups etc etc. Too much to type. But these are kinda the main type of movements I did. Full upper today, arms and shoulders being the primary movements, back and chest being secondary 🤗 make sure u pick weights that are not too heavy to the point where ur form breaks down. As SOON as I break form, I drop the weight and finish the set. I always finish the set no matter what. i love variety in my rep ranges, so I do quadruple pyramids, triple dropset burnouts, grueling negatives supersetted w pulses.. all that extra stuff I love 😂😂
