Impara ad ASCOLTARE IL TUO RESPIRO che deve sempre essere profondo e calmo. 2- quando pratichi ricorda di farlo sempre a PIEDI SCALZI, apri bene le dita dei piedi e fai sempre attenzione che siano ben piantati per terra! Guadagnerai in equilibrio e consapevolezza del tuo corpo. 3- tieni sempre le SPALLE LONTANO DALLE ORECCHIE, non insaccarti, tirale giù verso terra e APRI BENE IL TORACE, avvicina le scapole! In questo modo si allungheranno i muscoli del collo che troppo spesso sentiamo intirizziti dallo stress. Ti sembrerà di dover fare un sacco di cose per praticare questo benedetto Yoga, sappi però che sono l’inizio di un percorso che ti farà conoscere bene il tuo corpo e ti aiuterà a controllare la tua mente anche nei momenti difficili e di forte stress. L O R D O F T H E D A N C E ✨ . aka Natarajasana. Lol at the little friend on the TV 😂😂 didn’t notice this at all until now! Finding it easier to balance off the mat. It’s so much nicer doing yoga on the carpet but it’s proving dangerous.. and the carpet burns are getting worse 😂 . I’ve found balancing poses so difficult for such a long time and all of a sudden a switch went off in my brain and I can do it🙌 now I’ve mastered balancing certain poses before core relaxing and fulfilling. Having the hands in the Mideast position in this pose helps with concentration and sharpening memory however this is options do whatever suits you #youdoyou . Officially week 8 of my teacher training and it’s going so quickly I can’t keep up. To think that in a couple of months time I could potentially be qualified is a scary/exciting thought. But hopefully all my hard work and passion will pay off. E A G L E ✨ . A pose that’s great for improving concentration & focus. This pose definitely requires a lot of that! . Slowly but surely I’m getting my palms closer together and my foot tucked further round my calf! The more it’s practiced the more natural it feels in this position and even really relaxing. Rather than the external thoughts effecting my practice, this pose requires all your concentration and strength to hold! Re directing my external thoughts to something more constructive and useful. This pose is great for widening out your back in preparation for inversion poses like Sirsasana. . The next stage would be holding the pose and leaning the torso forwards, but the palms of your hands would need to be touching before progressing onto this level. . Remember, it’s not about being the best. When I was deep in the middle of my first teacher training about ten years ago, one of my teachers, @soniclauren, was teaching us a meditation technique using "sohum" as a mantra, which essentially translates to "I am one with the universe." I had never meditated regularly at that point- I had been in yoga classes where there was some meditation at the beginning and end, but to sit there and focus my mind on one thing felt new and extremely difficult... and pointless. I remember thinking that I couldn't wait for that part of training to be over so I would never have to sit still again. 😂 I practiced vinyasa and decided that the moving meditation of that was enough for me. ~ I'm not sure exactly when it happened, but at some point over the last ten years I realized I was meditating regularly, probably more than I practice asana in fact. I meditate when I wake up, I meditate when I walk, I meditate when I have moments during the day where I'm waiting for someone or for the next appt. It has changed everything about the way I look at life- it's taught me to be present and appreciate the brevity of being alive on this planet. ~ So I guess what I'm saying is, practice the physical asana if that's what you want to do. Move, sweat, challenge your body. But at some point, whether you realize it or not, the magic of meditation might seep into your "workout", and you will be different for it. You will be transformed into a better version of yourself- the you that has always existed, who just needed a little prodding to resurface. ~ And guess what my favorite mantra is these days? Ishvara pranidhana What is your higher power? How do you humble yourself to this higher power? Ishvara pranidhana is the fifth niyama (personal observation; personal ethics) What is your personal construction of the higher self? Through practice of the fifth niyama, ishvara pranidhana, we humble ourselves to some high power. One’s higher power can be god, goddess, gods, goddesses, nature, the universe, cosmos, the oneness of all beings, etc. What I love about yoga is that it is truly open to all beings regardless of religious beliefs. Yoga is described as being a spiritual practice as opposed to being an organized religion. It truly is an all inclusive process! With the practice of ishvara pranidhana, we have confidence in this higher being, whether it is god/goddess or the universe. Yes, we do all that we can within our own power, yet we also have faith in that higher sense of god or universe. As a child I went to Sunday school, but nothing ever made sense to me. Being an analytical thinker, I always picked everything apart, and it frustrated me to not have a belief. Tune Up Tips Utkatasana the beloved chair pose In this variation I use a block between my inner thighs to help engage and bring more awareness to the outer legs ✨in Tadasana place block between your inner thighs (width will depend on what will create hip distance in the legs/feet for you) ✨instead of thinking of just bending the knees to come into chair, think about descending the tops of the thighs back and down ✨draw the shin bones back so the weight comes more into your heels, and try to stay grounded through the inner feet ✨hug into the block, engaging the outer thighs encouraging lift to the low belly and pelvic floor ✨extend the arms overhead, rolling the outer shoulder forward. Think of your outer shoulders rising up towards your pinky fingers and the inner shoulders risings towards your thumbs ✨B R E A T H E finding joy in the strength and integrity you’ve created :)

Warrior II is a little different from Warrior

Getting into Warrior II Warrior II is a little different from Warrior I. Other than the arm positioning, it’s the hips that is mostly overlooked. . . In Warrior II, the hips are turned to face one side. Instead of facing the front leg, the hips together with the whole upper body, turns to one side. If the right leg was the front leg for Warrior I, you turn to face your hips and torso to the left side to open up to Warrior II.
