Typically with a refeed you go way high on carbs above your maintenance and try to limit fat as much as possible in order to not confuse the body's 2 choices of energy pathways insulin (carbs) or gluconeogenesis (fats & proteins) I personally would recommend a refeed when on a contest prep or roughly 4 weeks from closing a prep! Cheat meals or cheat days generally are meant to take a break and allow you to eat something you want to eat after restricting yourself for a long time, a cheat meal for me works great in the off season as it alows you to either increase your overall calories on top of your scheduled diet by having it on top of your macros or give you a dietary break by changing a meals once or twice a week.
