Let’s talk about getting off Xanax, withdrawals and the desire to start taking any benzos after getting off. I was on 3mgs a day for a little over 4 years. 100% completely physically dependent on them. I had 40 minutes of calmness from 1mg and then around 4-6 hours of hell until my next pill. HELL! It took me 48 days to taper down to nothing. It was hard but it was not the hell I had prepared myself for so it wasn’t all too too bad. I went through much worse of a hell the last 4 years while ON Xanax. It’s been 43 days since my last small dose and I’m doing really good. Physically the only thing to complain about are headaches. I have ZERO desire for any meds. Anxiety seems very low. Honestly besides headaches I have no signs of withdrawals. That took about 30 days. None of this means the fight is over. I still have a shit ton of work to do. I have to find myself again. For so long I’ve just wanted to feel like I wasn’t about to die and somewhere in the middle of all that I really disappeared. I have no idea what makes me happy, or what I want for my future 😢 (Tears just rolling typing that) Luckily I get to figure that all out now 🙌🏻 I’m getting off topic.. IM DOING REALLY WELL! Seriously, it’s okay to start small. You don’t need to “go big or go home”. . Starting small IS the start. No one ever starts anything BIG. It just looks that way once you see their progress. . If you’re depressed, you don’t need to do it ALL. Deciding to move from your bed is enough. Or maybe deciding to GO to bed is enough. . If you’re wanting to work out, just put on some shoes. Maybe tomorrow you can walk around the block. . And so it goes with anything that you’re struggling to start. . We often set ourselves up for backtracking because we think that in order to meet a goal we need to go from 0-100. Really, we just need to start. I don’t have a ton of time to go to the gym, but I’m going to start taking longer walks with G. . What can you start today? And do more of tomorrow?

And .. how is that is that emotion being experienced in the body? . . These questions matter .. they give me clues into the concerns the emotions (and their unique triggers) are trying to take care of. For instance shame .. it’s important for us to recognize the standards (we believe) we have broken. The client may share .. “I’m embarrassed” or “I feel ashamed” or “I just want to hide”. . . . Hiding is the response to the underlying concern. . . . This is why your emotional responses are so incredibly valuable to you. Fear is a daily battle for me. For the last 2 years I’ve worked at home. When my boys started school last year I was so afraid of them riding the bus I drove them to school almost every day. 😳 • Let me be honest. If you want to conquer a bus fear just sit in a car rider line every day. It’ll cure you. 😂 not really but it did help me. But not in the way you’d assume. • Everyday I watched kids get off the bus in the morning. And in the afternoon I watched kids get on the buses and leave safely. • My husband honestly thought I was crazy for not wanting them to ride the bus. But I’d never rode a bus except for field trips. My dad drove us to school every day. I had no experience with this. It was new. And it was scary. • It’s scary enough sending my kids off to someone else to care for them the majority of the day. But hubs also wasn’t feeling me quitting my job and home schooling the boys. 😂 • I battle fear every day. But trust and believe seeing I AM FEARLESS on my wrist every day will remind me of who I serve and that He goes before me and my children in every situation. I literally do not have to fear. His Word says so. 😉 • The I AM series speaks over me in so many ways that are needed to help calm my anxiety and fears. So far I only have 2 BUT trust that I’ll have all 7 really soon. Taking this photo nearly was the death of me, haha, but I'm here to tell the tale. I thought it would be a good idea to take this photo for this instagran to show what anxiety feels like. Feels like your suffocating or drowning. But in the process I ended up choking on water, and having a huge panic about secondary drowning. I looked too far into Google and started to have a major freak out about this. I'm learning as though no symptoms have happened, this is the toll anxiety takes on your body. I have not experienced any symptoms, but it's as though I am waiting for them. And this is when I realized I may be a hypochondriac. Signs of being a hypochondriac are Being preoccupied with having or getting a serious disease or health condition (everyday) Worrying that minor symptoms or body sensations mean you have a serious illness (everyday) Being easily alarmed about your health status (everyday) Finding little or no reassurance from doctor visits or negative test results (CAN NOT STRESS THIS ONE ENOUGH) Worrying excessively about a specific medical condition or your risk of developing a medical condition because it runs in your family Having so much distress about possible illnesses that it's hard for you to FUNCTION (YES) Repeatedly checking your body for signs of illness or DISEASE (THIS ONE IA CRAZY, I check ingrown hairs as if they are tumors, I get scared when my veins in my body appear darker) Frequently making medical appointments for reassurance — or avoiding medical care for fear of being diagnosed with a serious illness Avoiding people, places or activities for fear of health risks Constantly talking about your health and possible illnesses (my fiance actually hates me for this one) Frequently searching the internet for causes of symptoms or possible illnesses (this is a serious problem I have) I have no symptoms of secondary drowning yet I still have the fear of dying.. And everyday I am presented with something new to be Concerned about. What I've learnt. Don't be fucking stupid and take under water photos I may also have illness anxiety.
