Have you ever noticed that when you complain about one thing, you seem to find a dozen more things that displease you? Have you noticed that when you feel grateful about one thing, suddenly you notice a dozen more things that make you feel grateful? Recognizing that my focus determines my flow was a huge step for me in developing my confidence. I noticed that when I fixated on something with a negative attitude, I began a downward spiral of negative observations. e.g. I hate the rolls on my stomach when I sit. Ugh, my things are so squishy. My hair looks so ugly today. Are those dark circles under my eyes? Why do I always looks so bad?! But when I chose to focus positively, I noticed more and more positive things. e.g. It's such a beautiful day. My smile is lighting up my whole face. My curls are so wild and free. I'm looking good in these jeans! Man, I feel great! Notice my positive observations didn't even begin with myself. I noticed something that inspired joy and that in turn helped me to be more gentle with and appreciative of myself. When we focus on positive aspects of anything, we're tuning our eyes to find more positive in everything. And when we develop that habit, it's much easier to feel more confident exactly as we are & hopeful about who we're becoming. That's EMPOWERING!!! Because it means we don't have to let what is, or the fact that we're not where we want to be, determine how we feel or what we expect. It means CONFIDENCE IS A CHOICE! A choice that we can train ourselves to make more and more often, no matter what. Fine tuning our focus is just one aspect of the process I've used on my own journey & now in my coaching to help my clients build a foundation for lasting confidence. There are two types of people in this world 🌍🌝🌚 · Those who will do what it takes to get what they want And Those who will sit back, wish for things to happen, and watch other people succeed where they wish they were. I say this because I've been both. I used to sit back and watch girls get the body I've always wanted. I watched so many transformations of women who went from slim, with no muscle to thiccccc with all the muscle. I used to cry over the fact "I could never look like that" I avoided mirrors because I felt ashamed of my body. I hated summer because I was self conscious of my legs and my stomach. Shorts and bathing suits were NOT 🙅 for me. Then I'd see those fit chicks on Instagram and feel even more ashamed because I compared myself to them 😞 · When I gained 25 lbs 😱 two years ago, it was even worse. My self confidence was shot. My standards for myself were low. And I was miserable because I no longer had the body I did as a teenager. · ⏩This is when I became a doer. I stopped wishing for things to happen in my life and I made them happen instead. I got a fitness coach (lucky for me, that was my dad) and began my new journey to fitness. This time was different. This time I wasn't letting myself fail and quit. I've lost 15 lbs since then, gained back my confidence 💁🏼 and finally started putting on some muscle 💪🏻 like all those fit chicks who I compared myself to. · ⏩ Now the only comparison I let myself do is new me vs old me. life is busy. work, friends, family, commitments. in between all of this it’s sometimes difficult to find a moment of calmness to sit back and think, to squeeze that yoga class into your schedule. Don’t even think about balanced meals 😁 . those 3 aspect are closely linked with each other - mental balance, physical wellbeing and good nutrition. . my few daily healthy habits: 🍏I listen to a work/ career unrelated podcast everyday and keep the points that I find inspiring in my little pink turquoise notebook . 🍏I batch cook so my fridge and freezer will always have some healthy options ready for me when I run in through the door hungry . 🍏I keep a pantry with healthy staples - picking up 1 or 2 veggies will make it a whole meal . 🍏I never skip my breakfast and tea before starting work . . think about your priorities and make them part of your schedule - if living a mindful and healthy life is part of those, you will manage to make activities important to you part of you schedule no matter what (exercise, prepping food, reading, reflecting etc)

• Sometimes when I suggest JOURNALING to clients they don’t understand the benefits. It’s hard to convince someone to try something that they don’t fully believe will support them in their wellness journey. • So I wanted to point out that there is now increasing scientific evidence to support the notion that journaling has a positive impact on physical well-being. • To summarize, the simple act of writing directly engages your left brain (the analytical/rational side) which allows the right side (the creative/feeling side) freedom to explore. In other words, writing occupies the analytical/mental blocks that keep you stuck WHILE allowing you to tap into all of your creative and intuitive power to find a closer, more connected reflection of yourself. Over time, writing provides the following: • **Clarity of thoughts/feelings – without editing, writing stuff down gets you in touch with your internal world when all seems jumbled and confused. • **Know yourself better – if done routinely, writing opens you up to get to know what makes you happy and confident and what situations/people make you feel unhappy and invalidated. • **Reduces stress – writing about anger, sadness and other painful emotions helps release the intensity of the feelings so you can feel calmer and more able to stay present without numbing. • **Solve problems more effectively – with left brain (analytical) and right brain (creative/intuitive) both active in the writing process, unexpected solutions to seemingly unsolvable problems can be discovered. • **Resolve disagreements with others – writing about misunderstandings can help you not just articulate your point of view but also can help you understand the other person’s actions – leading to the possibility of a sensible resolution. • So, whether you are in the midst of sudden change or suffer from high anxiety, stress, addictive disorders, ADD/ADHD or depression, there is no doubt journaling WILL benefit you if done consistently. I can’t believe I’m even posting a picture like this 🙈 but here we are.... losing weight is not easy... Those who know me know I’ve been down this road a couple of times before and TRUST ME IT DOESNT GET ANY EASIER .... each time is different... before when I lost 80 llbs I simply wanted to be skinny ... and then I realized fast how unsatisfied I was w being skinny... in my mind I still resembled a bigger girl and I didn’t feel as confident as everyone else thought I should be ... I hated that all my ‘womanly’ assets no longer existed and the one thing I thought I wanted so bad didn’t give me any fulfillment.... so I decided to change my approach ... instead of bashing my body and comparing myself to the millions of IG models that flood my story everyday I DECIDED that I’m gonna love myself throughout my process 🙌🏿 when I look in the mirror I still see imperfections and needs for improvement BUT YOU KNOW WHAT ELSE I SEE - PERFECTION😍 Yes Ive learned to find the perfection in my flaws 💯No longer will I hurt myself by calling myself ‘fat ass’ or look at myself disgusted bc I don’t have a flat stomach.... Now don’t get it twisted y’all... I’m still gonna put in this work and get the results I want BUT I am gonna fall in love with the process which is something I’ve never done before .....
