• I don’t love my body every second of the day.⁣ ⁣ For me practicing self love or advocating for self love doesn’t mean you are perfect. There are moments of negative self talk that I have just like everyone else...I’ll be sitting there and start to get upset with my stomach flab and get annoyed that I’m not toning faster. ⁣ ⁣ BUT one huge thing I have gained from starting to Coach is learning how to GROW 🤸‍♀️. If I had never started Coaching I’d be talking down to myself every chance I got, my confidence would be zero, my self esteem next to nothing. Personal development has not only helped me grow my entrepreneurial mindset but also my personal mindset. I’m not the same person I was four years ago and thank goodness for that!!⁣ ⁣ I’m happy to say I’m conquering my body dysmorphia. It may never be a 100% but I’ll always be working to get there. I also now can snap myself out of my negative moments and flip the script on myself! My kids will learn from a confident Mom and learn to love themselves in the same way! For these reasons I’ll always be grateful to have a voice and platform to share my triumphs and struggles with you all!

Thank you for all the love after I said I was sick yesterday! It means so much! I'm still working through it but I will be ok soon 🙏. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ The truth is, even in remission, my immune system is still very active and on edge. And I've got a type of white blood cells that are low too. So I get sick more often than most. And it can take me a bit more to recover. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ Back when I first started my website I used to feel like I wasn't taking good enough care of myself when I got sick or would relapse. And that I shouldn't be talking about health and wellness if I'm not currently the picture of health. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ You see, there's this idea with some in the wellness community that if you eat right and do all the "right things" you can "heal yourself" and shouldn't get sick much. And I got sucked into that mindset for a little while. So I would feel like it was my fault when I got sick and struggled. • ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ It took a while to accept that, while I can thankfully make things much better by taking great care of myself, I can't make this all go away. And that's ok. I can still be healthy and talk about wellness while also having immune related health issues. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ If you're in a similar boat I wanted to take a minute to remind you that your disease is not your fault. And, if you're experiencing issues, you didn't ask for it or do something wrong. You're just a lovely mortal being and this is part of the human experience. ⠀ • ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ All will be well. Take care of you and be extra gentle with yourself while you heal. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ Now to eat a hearty bowl of PB oats. They will not cure me. But they're gonna taste magical and give my body some energy to fight the sickies! And that's more than enough 🙏. What matters most is... @fitomizefitness What is “right”??? The thing is what is right for them may not be “right” for me. . . Lately, I have found myself frequently expressing to people that, while I respect their opinions and beliefs and am glad they have found what works for them in their lives, I believe differently and their views do not work for me. . . Each of us experience the world uniquely influenced by our physical brain function, our past memories and experiences as well as present conditions.  People see what they expect to see and remember what they expect to remember because of their brain’s perceptual bias.  The information we have available to us, at the most basic level, is merely our brains interpretation of some electrical signals. . . The fact we have an estimated 60,000 to 80,000 thoughts per day and about 12,000-16,000 of those are negative. . . So what happens if you are on the higher end of the negative thought scale? Yup, you guessed it…Your reality vs someone else’s opinion can very easily be skewed. . . . So, are you living a life based on someone else’s opinion of you or are you living your own reality of you? . . . What truly matters is what YOU see in the mirror!! . . Just say Thoreau said “It’s not what you look at that matters, it’s what you see.” . . . . 📸@motivated.mindset

In case no one else has given you permission today…you’re a perfectly imperfect human, and that’s totally okay. ⠀ ⠀ Though I originally wrote this for my fellow Enneagram type ones, the reminders that they need to hear are good for us all. ⠀ In fact, I’d gamble that most of us don’t feel safe enough to be ourselves and let our flaws and vulnerabilities show. If you do, I’m gonna be like you someday! Or more like me, or...something. 😆⠀ ⠀ I really struggle with this. ⠀ ⠀ As I have explored the reasons behind the struggle, I can’t come up with a single REAL reason that it benefits me to live my life this way. Hmmm. ⠀ ⠀ Here’s how I get stuck: (Can you relate??)⠀ I’m afraid that you will see my flaws, how my thighs dimple and how messy my life can get (because I’m a HUMAN) because that means you won’t like me anymore, so then I’m endlessly working to make sure I keep that covered up. 😩⠀ ⠀ And all I want is connection. wednesday reflection ☼ .. today’s journal: while remembering to be kind and forgiving to yourself, don’t forget that you hold the reigns to life. yes, many things happen that are out of our control. these are in the eternal world (death, disease, etc). but there are many things that are very much in our control, our internal world. sit and feel your emotions, but try not to feel too bad for yourself. YOU wake up and decide if you want to make it a good day or not. YOU decide what a good day even is. YOU decide where you work, what to eat, how to move your body, how to create balance in your life. it’s up to YOU. so from time to time check yourself. are you making excuses? are you making it hard for yourself? are you undermining the power you hold to your own life?

My trip last week was straight up magic because I let mindfulness drive my every move. Nothing like traveling without cell service to really immerse yourself in the natural splendor of our world. ⠀ ⠀ Being back in the daily grind, I’m determined to carry that attitude with me, and I want to help you do it, too. After all, nature is everywhere, not just in the Mediterranean 😊⠀ ⠀ Even in the concrete jungle, there is capacity to experience nature. Get a houseplant. Go to an arboretum or botanical garden. Or just breathe deeply while noticing all of the details of the shrubbery along your neighbor’s stoop. 🎍 ⠀ 🌿Wherever you are experiencing nature, do it with intention. Move your gaze around each leaf, brach, or flower. Notice the colors, textures, symmetry and asymmetry. ⠀ ⠀ 🌳Notice the edges of the plants and how some parts are young, some are old. Some are just budding, others dying and falling to the ground.⠀ ⠀ 🍃Move around. Notice any sounds. The wind rustling in the leaves of a tree. The intricate shapes and patterns among leaves, petals, veins along each leaf as you get up close. The shadows cast as the sun goes down. ⠀ ⠀ 🌺Inhale and notice the scent. Fragrant smells from the flowers. The rich, earthy smell of soil. Or perhaps you notice an absence of smell entirely.⠀ ⠀ 🍁Being present in nature, or simply getting some fresh air has always been one of my favorite ways of calming down. What about you?
