What are your goals? Are they to lose weight, to get “toned” (although I despise that word), to get strong, to gain weight? Well here’s a quick story about my initial goal when I started powerlifting. ▫️▫️▫️▫️▫️▫️▫️▫️▫️▫️▫️▫️▫️▫️▫️▫️▫️▫️▫️ I hate to admit this, but if I’m being honest, my initial goal was to look like a powerlifter. Those females looked strong AF! I wanted to look like they did so when I was told that I should start powerlifting I jumped right onboard (for the wrong reasons obviously). Over the years I have definitely reestablished my goals. Do I want to be lean? Absolutely! But I am not going to sacrifice performance just because I want to be below 20% body fat. Right now I sit around 22-24% and I’m 100% okay with that because I want to be healthy, those numbers are right where I should be. Over the course of this journey, I have lost 16+ pounds in fat, 11% body fat, and gained so much respect and love for my body. Sometimes it’s important to revisit your goals to better fit what you really want to accomplish. I’m back after months🤩!!! Just recently got surgery on my hip last week and back into the gym doing upper body a week later!!! My bench is definitely sloppy right now because I haven’t benched for about 3 weeks and I can’t use legs to push up with so I’m benching with just mainly upper body so it’s getting the upper body ready when my legs get healthy. Got 140 on the bench! Thanks if y’all are still around supporting!!!
