Had a friend from college reach out to me yesterday to tell me that he used me as an example for one of his clients to show her that she shouldn't be afraid of lifting weights. • I lifted with someone new at the gym the other night who told me how much of an inspiration I am for a lot of women and girls in the area. • These are small things, but it goes to show how much of an impact you can have on the outside world when you find your passion and just go after it, regardless of what anyone thinks. • Too often, I focus on the negative things that are said about me or negative views that people have on me lifting. And this is stupid on my part, because for every single negative comment, there are 20 positive ones. Being told that I inspire someone..or that I'm a young girls role model is a really awesome and rewarding feeling. I may not be a "big name" lifter or have tons of sponsors..but I'm working my ass off to get to the top and I'm very happy to know that my journey is a positive motivator for so many others.

🔥The best pre-workout🔥 by @dancudes - Follow @dancudes for more amazing posts like this 🔥 - What you have before a workout is certainly important. A good pre-workout can lead to massive performance gains which, in turn, lead to better strength and hypertrophy gains that you otherwise wouldn't have had. However, there is a massive difference between a pre-workout you buy at GNC and one you get from a grocery store. The whole thing with pre-workout is you want to feel "amped" and have the fuel necessary to perform. When you buy a pre-workout from GNC or another supplement store, you may get "amped", but you're loading your body with synthetic chemicals, garbage sweeteners and a ton of caffeine. Like, a ton of caffeine. Dumb amounts of caffeine. So instead of dumping that into your system, having a shot of espresso, coffee or green tea and a piece of fruit is not only a good pre-workout, but is also very nutritious and doesn't make you feel like you're going to die. Of course, that isn't as marketable and memeable as some of the really cool brands you see on the shelves of a supplement store, and I get that, but it will certainly benefit you more in the long-run.

Squat: 358 lbs, Bench: 203 lbs, DL: 446 lbs with a 4th attempt of 457 lbs 🚫🚫🚫. . So I prepped for this meet with specific goals: BREAK 1000 lbs ✅. #benchpress more than 200 lbs. ✅. BREAK mine and the #worldrecord for #deadlift for my age class and weight division ✅. Place in #opendivision ✅. Don’t disqualify ✅. Compete at the lowest bodyweight since I started competing but have the highest total ✅. . I’m happy to say I accomplished the goals I set forth for this specific meet and it was probably the best performance I’ve had in a meet. In open division I had 8 other competitors. Living on Guam, I always remind myself that if I’m going to spend $2000+ on a trip/meet, I WILL not disqualify and I will try my hardest to place. For the last 10 weeks I decided to focus a bit differently and approach training differently. Although I was coaching 3 others, I made the decision to not program myself because I wanted to focus on the execution vs the planning. With @bigtone88 as a training partner and teammate, I knew I’d be able to stay focused. . Leaving Guam, I was getting sick. By the time I hit the platform, My stack included: ibuprofen, Theraflu, Mucinex, Bang Energy drink, pre-workout, creatine, l-arginine and a tons of cough drops. I was congested, felt like I was coughing up a lung, but physically felt the strongest I’ve been in a long time. If it weren’t for the guys, results could’ve been very much different. Their companionship, support, friendship and trust made the trip 100x more fun! Not only were they great travel buddies, but fun roommates and excellent handlers! ・・・ *HOW TO CUT VS HOW TO BULK* by @skiman.factual.fitness ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ So this is a common everyday question that I get and there's a misconception that the two are very different but as a matter of "FACT-UAL" *wink wink* they are not. So lets go over the some of the key points shall we?! ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ 1) TRAINING I want you to understand that in order to build, maintain and sustain muscle we must give it a reason to stay or grow. That's the nature of a lifters career, every heard the term "use it or lose it"? That is exactly what we are doing here. The training that built your body will be the training that you will use in order to lean down. I recommend that you stick to compound movements as the main focus along with training in both rep ranges of hypertrophy and strength. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ 2) MACROS/CALORIC INTAKE There's subtle tweaks to the macros and that is highly individualized. Mainly we are either reducing carbs and fats to cut or increasing carbs and fats to bulk. Again it's going to differ per individual, you'll have to figure out how much fuel is necessary for your workouts along with hitting your composition goals. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ 3) PROTEIN This macro stays constant for the most part, there is a range though if you want to be more flexible. The leaner you are the higher your protein intake can be as your body is more adaptable to utilizing protein.
