Front squat PR in the final week of the cutting phase. ⁣ ⁣ 435x8 on the SSB front squat. Things have really started abruptly heading in a positive direction performance wise. Most of the major compound movements took a substantial hit in the early stages of the cut as leverages shrank down, but things have really surged forward in this final month. Forget expensive recovery modalities. You don’t need a theragun, overpriced recovery drinks, a deep tissue massage, etc, until you’ve tried the basics. For the vast majority of people, executing these basic things well (along with sleep), is going to be enough. Always seek to create an environment that is appealing to you specifically to maximize recovery.

POST UPPER BODY SESH ⬆️⁣ ⁣ First day of my new(ish) programme, where I’ve tweaked my priorities to give more emphasis to muscles I want to develop more.⁣ ⁣ It’s not exactly an overhaul because I’m still on a 5 day split and the overall volume is pretty similar to beforehand. (although the weight should be steadily increasing)⁣ ⁣ I’m giving more emphasis to chest and shoulders on upper body days. ⁣ Chest - I want to develop strength on⁣ Shoulders - are lagging a bit all round 😅⁣ ⁣ It’s important to keep on updating your programme, moving emphasis between parts of your body you feel are lagging or can be taken to the next level. I judge the need by lifting stats and the mirror of course, because aesthetics >⁣ ⁣ I was up against time this morning in the gym (again) so it was a straight up trade off between filming my sesh and actually completing my sesh, so no footage I’m afraid! 👎🏻

1CT Flat Bench Topset . 80kg x 6 reps @ rpe 8. . READ FROM HERE :- ☑️ If you are struggling with bench and kind of stuck with same weight then try adding this bench variation where you pause at the chest for just 1 second and then press the weight back up. This might help you get through the sticking point which is at the chest level for most people. Also by doing it this way you are technically bring the bar to halt before pushing back up so you take out the momentum from the lift and instead of bouncing weight off the chest you use your pectorial strength to push the weight back up. Add it as a variation of the flat bench you can keep it the same day with normal bench or on some other day as well. And at last have patience and keep grinding because it will take some time to break through the plateau. . SIDENOTE:- Back to hyper block and its been 3 weeks into the hyper block and till now workouts are sailing like a breeze and hyper seems like a nirvana right now😂 . And moreover finishing my whole workout in about 1 hour without overshooting rpe , whereas it took about 2 hours in previous blocks. . FULL DISCLOSURE: I'm wearing nude/beige tight sweatpants that make me look fully naked from the waist down. Can 100% confirm I havent gone completely batshit) . 8 days post-spine surgery, gym/rehab experimentation: Only intended to see if I could bench the empty bar today and see how my new spine would cope with a mild arch (the arch was very mild indeed, as the staples and dressings are still in and wound care is obv top priority. Was still actually able to arch pain-free though, physically proving the arch is, as it always has and will be, the safest anatomical position for your spine to benchpress in. Powerlifters 1 - 0 gym bros on the Internet 🤷🏻‍♀️) . I was over the MOON to even be able to load the bar with any weight and it not hurt me. I worked up to a gentle and controlled 5x5 at 60kg (wasn't prepared to go higher than an RPE 6/10), followed by 3x6 close-grip at 55kg 😍 did some other light/controlled chest work after. I'll be resting tomorrow and probs doing some walking Rehab, because I still walk like I'm on crystal meth. But today and yesterday have filled me with so much gratitude and admiration for my body and it's capabilities 🤗 slap my ass and call me Sally, it's fucking nice to be alive fellas. Love you x
