It’s been a while since I’ve posted a before and after picture so here is my #transformationtuesday post. 10 years between these pics 29 V’s 39 years old. For those that have only known me a short time look at me and say oh it’s easy for you. Your naturally lean or You have good genetics. Let me tell you that’s not the case at all... Ive worked bloody hard to get where I am today. It’s been dedication, commitment, consistency, hard work day in and day out and above all else it’s been a massive amount of self love and putting myself first for the first time in my life. It hasn’t been easy and many times I fell off track but I got back on time after time and never gave up. Do I feel guilty about it? Hell yes! Would I change anything? Hell no! Pull-Ups (“Warm Up”) 💪 Music: @commongroundmi Happy Friday/long weekend! Regardless of if it’s leg day or upper body day, I always like to start with pull-ups after I do my proper warm-up. I like to do them because I feel they help warm-up my entire body. Since you are using a lot of your arm muscles, it is important to do a normal warm-up first before attempting this. Depending on the station, I usually will do different grip versions using the bars that are typically attached to the station I am at.  I typically do 4 different grips:  wide pronated grip (to target my back muscles more), neutral grip, normal pull-up/pronated grip, and supinated (chin-up) grip. For those of you who are viewing this thinking “I could never do that, I’m not built like that or I’m not strong enough,” have no fear, I have great news! I went from not being able to one to being able to now do 3 sets of up to 10 reps per set 🙌  On the last rep of each set, I like to hold my position for a few seconds before going back down and releasing. Now the amount of reps I can do ranges slightly (only by 2-3 reps) depending on which grip I’m using since they target different muscles, some grips are easier for me than others. If you can’t do any right now, I recommend either starting using the assisted machines, or try 3 sets of going as far up as you can, even if you feel it may be nothing. Really try and push through as hard as you can each attempt, and if you can, do it each day before your workouts. Being up since 4am and getting off lat

I took this picture after work. Being up since 4am and getting off late because a machine broke. This was 9pm on a Friday night and I was “punishing” myself with more cardio. I had eaten a chicken strip and a few fries because I was starving. But that wasn’t in the diet so I needed to work it off. I was so emotionally, physically and mentally drained, I remember taking this picture thinking I would post it as something motivational (honestly, probably did), but was honestly done. Not long after this was when things started to change for me. I ate what I wanted to because it made me feel alive, energized and excited to cook. I exercised when and how much I wanted to, instead of forcing myself into what others were doing. I started trusting myself and my knowledge, unfollowing people that were draining, taking care of myself and believing that I was worth it NOW. Not later. Flash forward to now, I’m watching a movie and probably going to bed early. Why? Because I want to and it’s as simple as that. It doesn’t take special people or circumstances to live intuitively and thrive. It just takes the will to change and declare that the time is now. Will you? I'd love to show you how.

Day 5 of the @bodybuildingcom all access challenge series powered by @jimstoppani @jymsupps is complete. I love to bench press and I haven't tested my PR in a while. But I'm happy I can bench press 135 lbs without a spotter. Even though I miss my gym buddy my person @lundquist52 so much. She's the main reason I maned up back in October of 2017 and hit the weight room. I never look back anymore or care if people stare at me. I'm at the gym to better myself and get them GAINS 💪🏼. How is everyone doing? Are you hitting any obstacles yet? Are you being tempted by anything? Just remember to take it day by day. Change doesn't happen overnight it takes time. It takes a lot of courage, hard work, sweat, and tears. But we can crush those obstacles and keep going. Life isn't easy but you should never want easy. Also, remember any workout is better than no workout. Somedays you'll be able to push further other days you may not. This doesn't mean your weak. You're becoming tired! Listen to your body but also push pass those doubts of those CANTS that run in your head. You got this you are much more than any doubts you have. Here's to crushing our goals and kicking those obstacles to the curb. You're beautiful, you're capable, you're worth it and YOU GOT THIS! You deserve happiness but most of all you deserve this life. #bbcomchallengeseries
