I know I constantly get asked how I get my hair so healthy and I attribute that a good amount to how clean my diet is. . Breakdown of each food below: . 1 - Spinach - is a good course of folate iron and Vitamin A & C which all promote hair growth. . 2 - Salmon - A 2015 study found fish oil supplementation to reduce hair loss & increase hair growth in women with thinning hair (1) Also salmon is a good source of protein, selenium & vitamin D3/B vitamins that support hair growth. . 3 - Berries - are loaded with antioxidants and vitamins that promote hair growth. Vitamin C is used to produce collagen which helps strengthen hair. . 4 - Avocados - a good source of vitamin E which was shown in this 2010 study to boost hair growth by 34.5% in people who were having issues with hair loss. (2) Avocados are also a good source of fatty acids which are important building blocks of cells. . 5 - Eggs - good source of protein & biotin which support hair growth. HAPPY MONDAY! I am kicking off my week with a delicious bowl of cold creamy oats with all👏🏼da👏🏼toppings👏🏼. This breakfast was my post-strength training meal. It has a balance of healthy carbs, fats and proteins for better recovery! How did you start off your day today? • 👇🏼BERRIES & CREAM OVERNIGHT OATS🍓👇🏼 -2/3 cup rolled oats -1 tbsp chia seeds -1 scoop @mrm_usa cinnamon bun -1/2 cup frozen mixed berries🍓 -1 tsp maca powder (optional) -Pinch of cinnamon -Sprinkle of salt -1/4 cup greek yogurt -1/2 cup light coconut milk🥥 -Almond milk to thin * Put all ingredients in a Tupperware and stir until fully combined. I feel like we have to have some real talk gang. I understand how easy it is to sometimes get defeated when you feel like you're not dropping weight as fast as you hoped. I want you to know that it's okay. Losing weight is very much like The Tortoise and the Hare. It's a slow process. For others it may be fast, but really, it all depends on a variety of things. When I was in my twenties I could drop weight so fast. I lost 60 lbs in 3 months like nothing. Now at 39 years old, it's taking me almost a year to lose 65 lbs. It's just a change in your body. As much as I've wanted to be down on myself, I can't because I've lost a lot of inches and I made some significant gains. Not to mention this is the longest I've ever gone leading a healthy and active lifestyle. So no, I'm not dropping a hundred pounds in a year but I know I'll drop 200 in the next two to three years. Remember this is a lifelong journey. Not a quick-fix solution!
