It’s been a super emotional weekend for me, as I’m sure it has been for everyone that competed at Boss of Bosses V. I first wanted to say thank you, to everyone that messaged me to tell me good luck. I have the most amazing support, from people I don’t even know, and it warms my heart so much. I have no words to describe the overwhelming amount of love and support I’ve gotten, and how much I really truly appreciate you guys😭 There aren’t enough words...❤️ • Nothing went according to plan this meet, and I’d be lying if I said it didn’t break me. My heart shattered when it came time for deadlifts and I had to open with a number that was way below what I was intending. It stings a bit to talk about, so I’m not going to. • Thank you @bossbarbellclub Dan @dangreenpowerlifter and Sparkle @bossladysparkle @danandsparkle for putting together such an amazing meet with such amazing competitors❤️ All the women in flight A were AMAZING!!! 700 ➡️755 in 13 weeks thanks to @jailhousestrong. Josh had me test out my 1RM before starting his program and as you can see I got a very slow but solid 700 pull, which was 30lbs off my PR. A lot of my accessory work with @jailhousestrong was centered around leg drive and speed because those were my weakest areas. Our goal was 800lbs in 16 weeks but external factors began to take a toll around week 13 and training began to fall apart. You can read more about it in a previous post on my profile. 315lbs (143kg) One Arm Deadlift PR! 🔥 played around with 225lbs (102kg) and decided to pull 315lbs (143kg) with one arm with a strap so not 100% raw. 😂 Deadlift focused training going great. Kapil Bellubbi @liftingbells has begun Eric Troy's Single Double Triple (SDT) Progression on Deadlifts. I want to state that Kapil went out on a limb with these Touch & Go reps and I do not approve of them. I understand that shit happens sometimes; like touch and go reps, hitched Deadlifts, etc but as long as these deviations from the norm remain "deviations" and do not become the Norm; it is fine. Having said all that, here is why I am proud of Kapil for this workout: __ 1. Touch and go involves a different kind of brutality and to generate that kind of force to "own" the weight is impressive. 2. Kapil's max (note: this max was a theoretical max or "I have done this once in my life" type max) when we began training together a couple of years ago was 165 kgs. This 180 x 4 x 2 is big BIG progress. 3. Kapil trained through being sick. __ So this is the flip side of the situation. Tonight's deads. Was really pleased with how the build up sets went. Well for me any way still have that rounding issue going on. And it gets progressively worse as the weight increases the strength is there just something isn't quite right. @strong_man_in_the_making solve the mystery lol. You've fixed everything else now's your time to shine lol. Comp weights is 170kg for reps I did 2 not pretty ish reps don't think I could do anymore with out even worse form. Deads are my Nemesis. FINALLY BACK TO DEADLIFTING 🤓 • Back in November, I had a deep tissue massage. While I’d like to say it helped, it totally ruined me. I have some lower back problems and even though I had made it very clear to avoid my lower back, he didn’t listen. Of course I displayed my discomfort, but the damage was done. I have had to take off from back squatting, I couldn’t deadlift without intense pressure and pain on my lower spine, and standing at work was miserable.
