And whilst it is not definitive, consuming adequate protein is heavily linked to a higher rate of satiety (feeling full). Thus, feeling satiated for extended periods may reduce the likelihood of consuming excess calories. I stress the word ‘likelihood’. ⁣⁣⁣ ⁣⁣⁣ Furthermore, protein consumption will help one maintain adequate muscle mass during the process of fat loss or muscle gain and result in higher energy expenditure during thermic effect of feeding (TEF). ⁣ ⁣ Most sources of meat and poultry are protein dense. As you can see, there are lower calorie options available for the same or greater protein value. Whilst meat/poultry is just one component of a balanced meal containing carbohydrates and fats, it is an area where you can make a relatively small change which could help your goal in the long run. ⁣⁣⁣ ⁣⁣⁣ In terms of protein density per gram of food, not many food/drinks come close to meat. If you don’t eat meat, sourcing and consuming adequate protein for your fitness needs becomes more difficult, but definitely still possible. If one follows a vegetarian or plant based diet, there exist appropriate protein sources, though the likelihood is that protein density is harder to source. ⁣⁣⁣ ⁣⁣⁣ If you are vegan... That was until I remembered it’s a cross between chewing on dirt and choking on gum leaves. Blinky Bill couldn’t stomach this monstrosity 🐨🐨🐨 Due to it being one of the most nutrient dense foods known to man, loaded with powerful antioxidants and laced with more vitamin C and K than it’s amphetamine equivalent on a schoolies week, I’ve decided to either create, or steal, a smoothie recipe with this little green number in it. Hard to look good all year round? It's all about balance, I eat out, I have burgers, ice cream and pizza but I'm managing my intake to out put, making sure that during the week I'm disciplined, I have one meal off of what ever I want as long as I sit within my daily intake of calories. Eating carbs at night had been my new thing and it's worked wonders, people think I'm mad eating all these carbs at night? Why cause society said so or the fitness mag you read in the doctors room said no carbs after 3?
