How about some FUNctional training!?! - Functional training is all about strength, stability and mobility. And incorporating it into your routine can help you become more efficient at everyday life tasks. - One is the main reasons I love 💗 it is that it reminds me of being a kid out on the playground. Do you remember recess, being out in the sunshine, on the jungle gym, running in the sunshine, making up silly games. My favorite was one we called Sharkey...you had to run around, up and down the jungle gym trying to stay away from the person who was the designated “shark.” If you were caught by the shark, you too became a shark 🦈 - It wasn’t all about the gains or the reps...it was about fun, and boy was it exhausting. That’s what functional training is to me. I end up having so much fun doing the moves that it’s not until I stop that I notice that I feel like 😪 - So make sure to incorporate some functional training. If not for the sake of your body, for the sake of your mind. Have fun with it. Remember, you are never to old to play.

Which one is your favorite? ⬇️⬇️⬇️⁣ -----⁣ 💥The shoulder can get overly complex, but the goal of this post is to keep it SIMPLE. There are a ton of exercises we can perform, utilizing a variety of equipment (bands, weights, barbells, cable, etc), but here are a few drills I like to perform using only bodyweight:⁣ .⁣ 1) Prone swimmers⁣ -⁣ 📌This drill can be deceivingly challenging, as we fight against gravity to keep our arms above the ground⁣ 📌Try and keep your arms as high above the ground as you can and elbows straight (think about reaching finger tips away from you)⁣ 📌If you have trouble on the ground you can do this on a bench, or if this is too easy, hold some light weights <5lbs. LETS TALK INJURIES. Just because I’m a personal trainer doesn’t mean I’m invincible. One of my main exercising goals is to be injury and pain free BUT unfortunately this isn’t always reality. I’ve been dealing with shoulder pain for a LONG time now and it’s something that I work with and adapt my workouts around. I’ve been to see numerous physios and now finally I think I’m on the right track to see some improvement. [Do you believe people can do front splits in a month?] That was what I asked previously in my snapgram. I do believe people can do intermediate front splits in a month. However, the result of your front splits also depend on your motivation, flexibility, and repetition. I do this stretching routine usually after waking up and before going to sleep every day. Every stretching takes 30-60 seconds and I usually take one and half hours to finish the routine. So, if you want to have your front splits, start now, and keep doing the routine repetitively. Lower back pain? Wake up feeling stiff? 🤬(Stop it- I mean your back!) Have pain when you stand up after sitting for long periods? This quick massage technique with a lacrosse ball may give you some immediate relief. Tag someone with back pain!⁣ ⁣ This is a simple, inexpensive way to give yourself some quick relief. All you need is a ball. A lacrosse ball, like in the video is a good option, but you can play around with different types depending on your size. A tennis ball will be less dense and therefore less intense, so if you find the lacrosse ball is too much for you, try a tennis ball or another softer ball. The toy bins at the dollar store can be a great place to find different density balls to add to your arsenal. ⁣ ⁣ In this video, you are able to see the ball placement from under the body. You will notice that you are going after the muscle from the back/side. So not just lying flat on it, but tilting your body so that the ball is pressing into the QL muscle from the side also. We find that this is the most effective way to access the muscle. ⁣ ⁣ Comment below and let us know how it works for you! If you find the floor to be too intense you can also start with doing this against a wall. Play around with your body and learn what works best for you. People are all different, so there’s no “perfect way”. Also, understand that this is a quick fix and will not produce long-term results on its own.
