Too often we see folks do the wrong things to try and relieve back pain, here is a quick demo on some movements not do and some to do.⠀⠀ ・・・⠀⠀ WHAT TO DO AFTER A BACK TWEAK!⠀⠀ -⠀⠀ Auburn Physio to talk about what to do when you tweak your back! So often we see people going into aggressive flexion, extension, and rotation after they tweak their backs, thinking it will help them loosen up. But the reality is this excessive and haphazard movement often causes more irritation and damage than good.⠀⠀ -⠀⠀ In this video, we show four different things to do when you tweak your back that will help you regain mobility and strength!⠀⠀ -⠀⠀ 1️⃣Deep belly breathing with feet elevated. Elevating your feet helps you to get your rib cage and diaphragm in a good position. From there, inhale deeply, trying to initiate the breath down in the belly, and allowing it to rise up into the chest, then exhale fully reversing that pattern.⠀⠀ ⠀⠀ 2️⃣Cat/Cow. Be sure to move very gently through a range of motion that is comfortable and doesn’t cause pain.⠀⠀ ⠀⠀ 3️⃣Rocking on all fours. Slowly sit your hips back toward your heels while maintaining a neutral spine.⠀⠀ ⠀⠀ 4️⃣Supine marching. LEVEL ONE: lie on your back with your knees bent and feet flat. Press your lower back down toward the floor by depressing your rib cage. Without allowing your ribs to flare, slowly bring one knee in toward your chest, then return it to the floor and switch sides. LEVEL TWO: Lie on your back with your knees up at 90 degrees. Pregnancy put a stop to negative habits 🙏🏻 and after that, Pilates came into my life 🙌🏻 control of mind-body, control of movement, of progress, of health and wellbeing...Control is a core principle of Pilates (which was originally called Contrology)🤸🏻‍♀️ I’m so grateful to be living a life that I get to do, teach and share what genuinely makes me happy, centred and free. One of My FAVORITE T-Spine Mobs!⠀ -⠀ 🚨 First, give this a try 🚨⠀ 1️⃣ Stand up ⠀ 2️⃣ Raise your hands overhead⠀ 3️⃣ Lean as far back as you can⠀ If you felt tight and locked up make sure to read below👇⠀ -⠀ 💥 T-Spine mobility is one of the most common areas I see limited on people, and it's super important to keep mobile with all that sitting we do. The body weight squat is one of the most popular exercises in health and fitness world, but here at The 4321 Method® we think it’s massively undervalued. Most people can’t wait to add weight to this “simple” exercise or to skip ahead to a more difficult version. So here's me after an injury I sustained last month with a metal box. The fall sent me to the hospital, luckily no broken bones just inflammation and bleeding. This set took me 4 minutes to complete since I kept remembering the fall and the stubborn me didn't want to have an incomplete set. I kept trying and eventually finished my set. Don't go for time. DO MORE OF WHAT SCARES YOU🤟🏼 . It can be really scary to put yourself out there. Especially on the internet. A place full of keyboard warriors and judgmental people who mirror their insecurities on those they aspire to be like (am I right?!) . But if something scares you or feels uncomfortable, that is THE sign telling you to F-in do it. . This last year I’ve done a lot of this. I’m becoming more and more in love with the uncomfortable, facing my fears, insecurities, and the butterflies 🦋 . And let me tell you, every time I do something that scares me, it pays off! It goes better than expected! . What are you going to do this year that scares you? I want to know 👇🏼 . PS. people love vulnerability. Just do it.

Nice arm workout this morning. • - Close grip bench press ▪1 plate each side - 1×10 ▪2 plates each side - 1×10, 1×6 ▪1 plate + 25 each side - 1×6 - Seated dumbbell curls ▪1×12 each arm with 25s ▪1×9 each arm with 40s ▪1×12 each arm with 40s (see vid) ▪1×9 each arm with 40s - Overhead dumbbell triceps extension ▪3×15 with 80 - Machine curls ▪2×12, 1×10 at 125 • Still getting over a cold, so not feeling as strong. 🤧🤧🤧 Luckily I'm off until the 29th 😁😁 Happy holidays to me 😜

A workout you can do in your boxers in your bedroom?! I’m down 🙌 Everyone in this household is sick 😷 and I can feel it trying to get me too but I’ve been working out moderately — not intensely — all week which seems to be helping keep it at bay (along with healthy foods, lots of water, and early bedtimes for mom). When I‘m full blown sick, I don’t work out at all... I rest. I find this subject is a tricky one: many swear by “sweating it out” & crushing a workout in the gym, I personally find exerting my body like that while sick is counterproductive and I end up being sick longer because my body tries to repair from the workout as well as repairing from the virus. 🤷‍♀️ every body is different; what it needs is different and how it responds is different.
