H A R D . Fat Fighter? Only thing this is fighting is your bank account. 💁🏽‍♂️ Claims to have ingredients that inhibits carbs which is intriguing, so I researched and went through literally every ingredient listed (the ingredient label taken from their site) and summarised my findings (which I’m willing to back up if necessary), swipe to check em out ➡️ Now I was pretty thorough and still came up dry, but then I thought “hold up, such audacious claims they must have some evidence to cite”, so I then proceeded to go through their website (that looked made by a year 10 media student by the way 👦🏽) and could not find a single source for these claims. This indicates a few possibilities: 1. They’re choosing to withhold them, 2. They’ve made them very hard to find for some reason #shady, or 3. MYTHS in the fitness industry 🤦🏻‍♂️ The fitness industry is polluted with misconceptions, myths and general bad advice. Some of the things I have overheard in gyms makes me cringe 😬. So, over the next few days I will debunk some of the biggest myths. Myth 1- TARGETED FAT LOSS Targeted fat loss or ‘spot reduction’, is the belief that you can burn fat on a specific area of the body by performing certain exercises. This would be great in an ideal world but unfortunately: ❌Tricep extensions don’t get rid of bingo wings! ❌Crunches don’t get rid of the spare tyre! ❌Lat pull downs down get rid of back fat! The myth is the that the muscles will use localised fat as the energy source to perform the reps. This is not how the body burns fat. Now to get a little scientific 🤓. Fat is stored in cells is in the form of triglycerides. But, before this can be used as energy it must be broken down to smaller sections called free fatty acids and glycerol which can then enter the blood stream... the thing is, these can come from any part of the body and not just the targeted area! So, how do you get definition? We know now you can’t target fat loss. However, you can target tone! So, yes by all means hit the weights and perform these exercises as they will strengthen and build muscle. But, to allow the definition to come through we must reduce our total body fat. This is done by burning more calories than we consume either through our diet, exercise or ideally a combination of both 😀 Remain consistent with your training and diet, be patient and you’ll get there 👍 #fatloss #trainingtips #fitnessmotivation #health #fitness #broscience #fitnessmyths #realtalk

Shorts season is almost overrr 😢 But finally counting down the days for uniii, I actually miss my desk and my tiny shitty gym 📚🖊 • Today is leg day but I’ve got the fear of the squat rack at the moment- not ideal! Might avoid it just for today, but I’m going to go with an open mind and see how I feel when I get in there 🌸 - it’s completely normal to struggle sometimes and reach a plateau, even on things you do all the time, aka squats! You gotta get past this stage and that’s when the confidence starts flowinggg and the gains come with it 💛
