We decided to branch out and try something totally new (and by ‘we’ I mean my wife because she’s cooked every night this week due to me starting a new job and not having a free minute). That being said... here’s our take on #lomein 🍜🍜🍜 1️⃣Ingredients: 4 pork chops, 6 cups of lo mein noodles (purchased at the Asian market), 3 carrots, 1 bunch #bokchoy, soy sauce, sesame oil, rice vinegar, sesame seeds 2️⃣Grill: sprinkle sesame seeds and marinade the pork chops in a health dose of soy sauce for 30min and grill them up. 3️⃣Veggies: we used a mandolin to shred the carrots and bok choy then sautéed them in the wok with a bit of sesame oil and rice vinegar. 4️⃣Wok: add the cooked noodles to the wok with a healthy dose of soy sauce, sesame oil, and rice vinegar. Wok sauté the noodles, veggies, and diced up pork chops... mix the soy sauce, rice vinegar, and sesame oil to create a nice gravy for the lo mein. 5️⃣EAT!! 🍜🍜🍜 This meal is one is top notch: protein 👌, veggies 👌, quality carbs 👌, fats 👌! It’s got everything you need in a bowl and it was a fun fish to make... try lighting up a wok sometime and pretending like you’re a chef for a night! We oreoarwd the whole dinner in about 30 minutes...

We spent so much of our time focusing on our missteps. When we trip and fall, we seem to only obsess over the 10 seconds we were on the ground rather than the rest of our day spent walking perfectly fine. Similarly, in life, we let one heavy moment, month, or year get in the way of our ability to see that we are okay so much more than we are not. Falling down does not make us who we are. Standing up does. Rising + continuing to move forward does. 💕

I have to tell you because your aunt may be struggling with an auto-immune disease. I have to tell you because your friend may not be able to be in social settings without a panic or anxiety attack. I have to tell you because your high school bestie may be a tired mom that struggles with a lack of energy. I have to tell you because your girlfriend may have a serious addiction to caffeine and sugar. I have to tell you because you may have another friend that struggles with some kind of pain, all the time. I have to tell you because your mom may struggle with severe stomach pain and/or digestive issues. I have to tell you because your child may struggle with allergies. I have to tell you because your friend’s baby may have to take numerous antibiotics or medications for an unknown health issue. I have to tell you because you may have another friend that struggles with some sort of pain all the time. I have to tell you because your work colleague may struggle with over eating. I have to tell you because your neighbor may struggle with migraines. I have to tell you because your brother might have been told by the doctor he needs to do something about his health - now. I have to tell you because the lady at church might not be able to use the restroom without pain. I have to tell you because the girl at the gym is trying to lose weight but hasn’t seen the scale move in weeks even though she is eating like a rabbit and never misses a workout. I have to tell you because I know you, or someone you know, or someone they know, might have a real struggle. I HAVE to tell you. You don’t HAVE to read it, listen to it, or agree with it... but someone is struggling, and I HAVE to let them know. 💕

Tracking on MyFitnessPal, etc. is such a helpful tool for reaching various body composition goals... however it is so easy to miss calories here and there when we don’t measure! . “Weighing food can minimise inconsistencies in visual estimations for a more accurate understanding of how much you are consuming” . Do you have to use the scales forever? NO!! 🙅🏼‍♀️ however, consistent use of this tool during a period of time will develop your knowledge around nutrition. Ultimately helping you make better decisions when you’re not in a dieting or tracking phase 👍🏻

Strength training may have a reputation of making women "bulk up”, but guess what?? Fake news!!!! The more your weight comes from muscle (rather than fat) the smaller you'll be.
