Great to see these big skies while out training. Another week of marathon prep is flying by. I’ve spent my time doing hill and sprint reps, a beastly medium run with speedy intervals and have done some steady runs in between too. This weekend I’m running in a 10k race in Exeter and next weekend I’m doing the Bideford Half Marathon. It feels good to have some races to aim for before the big run in 6 weeks time. Let me know if you have anything you’re targeting in the next few months, perhaps we can cheer each other on!

Magical sh*t 🦄 happens when you decide to put yourself first🙋🏻‍♂️✨ __ But honestly, for years I really couldn’t find a place between trying to please what others wanted out of my life and what I wanted for myself🙋🏻‍♂️ What people want for your life and what you want sometimes shares commonalities, but at times there is a hard, distinct line that draws between the two. With all my heart, I want to say that you can do both all the time, but reality falls short of this promise🤷🏻‍♂️ Part of the challenge was that I really didn’t know I want. But the problem was that I wasn’t giving time for myself in the first place to really figure it out. And the struggle continued because I think deep down I didn’t really feel like I deserved much of it🙌🏻 I know that part of it had to do with being bullied in school😔 but another large part of it came from the fact that I genuinely cared about others and more than anything in the world I didn’t want to let them down. But it wasn’t until I started standing up for myself did my whole logic on life change🙇🏻‍♂️ I realized that when you stand up for what you want, in a polite but strong manner, people start respecting you for who you are. I learned that when you tell people, directly or indirectly, what you are willing to give and do, they learn how to better ask what they need from you. But most importantly, when you start putting yourself first, you are able to better help others along the way💪🏻 __ There will be times in your life where you will have to decide what is more important📝 I knew that I couldn’t be happy if I didn’t put myself first. In a weird way, it was the best way that I could give to others. And the gym, it all starts here An act of honoring myself everyday and fighting for what I want with everything I have got. Blessed to have something in my life that continues to make me feel so special✨ __ Magical sh*t 🦄 happens when you decide to put yourself first🙋🏻‍♂️✨ Remember that. #StrongerSelf

A year ago I could only do 2 sets of 2 pull ups. And they were struggle pull ups—legs flailing, arms shaking, face red. Yesterday I did 3 sets of 6. I’ve even dabbled in weighted pull ups. . Sometimes I look back on the last two years and the only change I can see is the bit of fat I’ve gained. That my abs aren’t as defined. And sometimes that gets to me. . This is why it is SO IMPORTANT to keep track of non-aesthetic changes. That way you know you’re on the right path and making change even if you don’t physically see the change that you want or expect to. 👉🏻I’ve tripled my pull up strength 👉🏻I can easily touch my toes now 👉🏻I can squat more than 105lbs without my whole body shifting over to the side 😂 shoutout to Alan, the best physical therapist ever for fixing my crazy imbalances 👉🏻In fact, I can now squat 135 for reps when a year ago I never thought I’d be able to put the big girl plates on the bar 👉🏻I’m generally more confident in the gym 👉🏻I’m more in tune with my body and can feel different muscles firing . These are just some of the non-aesthetic positive changes I’ve seen in my body in the last year. What are some of yours??

Today was brutal. I didn't want to work out at all, and after every set I said to myself that I was done for the day. I'm glad I didn't quit, and that I finished the workout, but I really didn't want to take a picture today because of how miserable I was. No one needs to see that. So what I'm really proud of is that I took a picture anyway, because I made a promise to myself that I'd stay accountable, and this is how I've chosen to do that. So here's my forced half smile. Will it help you or is it not for you? . It depends... . 'If it fits your macros' or 'flexible dieting' as some call it is a diet with the idea that as long as you consume the right number of calories, fats, proteins, carbs and fibre you'll still get results regardless of whether you're eating clean or not. . So it does work to an extent, it'll work wonders on some and it can be disastrous for others. . Obviously you can't just eat absolute shite and expect the same results as if you were eating perfectly clean, wholefood, homemade meals. But, you can't exactly eat absolute crap if you're getting a high amount of fibre, protein with controlled carbs and fats to a T. . As long as you're eating 80% wholefood, homemade,'clean', foods and just 20% or ideally less of junk. You're guaranteed to get great results that wouldn't be any different that from 100% clean food. . So that being said it sounds amazing and makes sense for everyone to do it especially when dieting. It worked perfectly for me and I was eating some cake, ice cream and other junk right up to my shows. But here's a big downside of it. . Trigger foods and self control with them. Some people can control their little amount of junk they eat, others don't. Some people as soon as they put a piece of chocolate on their tounge thet need to eat the whole xl chocolate bar, and then some more. If you're one of those people, then this isn't ideal for you and you're better of staying stricter. . So flexible dieting/IIFYM can be an amazing way for some people to achieve their desired goals but for some it can be a downfall! That's why one size fit all never works with nutrition!

Loaded Veggie Stuffed Peppers 👌🏼 Trust me when I say you’re going to want to make this one! Gluten free, dairy free, and vegan! - Mixture: 4 cups shredded carrots 4 diced celery stalks 1 cup rice 2 tbsp minced garlic 2 tbsp cumin 3 cups bean blend (pinto, black, corn, edamame) 1 can diced tomatoes (drain liquid) 2 cups water 1/2 diced onion - Instructions: Simmer mixture for 20 mins on stove top with olive oil. Core 6 bell peppers and place in baking dish with liquid from diced tomatoes. Fill peppers with mixture and place in oven on 350 for 1 hour with tin foil on top! Serve with avocado.

Why do I go to the gym? so this weeks been a bit up and down if I’m honest, I think I’ve just been really hormonal but little things that don’t normally get to me have really been and I’ve just been more uptight then usual:(Going to the gym is more than just a hobby for me,it genuinely improves my mental well being aswell. When I don’t go to the gym I have a tendency to stress about silly things,work myself up and get anxious about things.I don’t just go to the gym to see physical results, I got to the gym because it makes me think so positively, it makes me have a better outlook on life, it makes little things I used to stress about seem stupid and it just makes me feel like a calmer person and have a better outlook on life. I feel strong and confident after the gym and I love that feeling of lifting heavier or leaving the gym knowing you couldn’t of trained any harder. For me, it’s a part of my life and I absolutely love it☺️would love to know other people’s reasons for starting💪🏽I had the best session of the week tonight aswell! I feel soooo good after feeling pretty rubbish this week, and it’s Friday tomorrow😻hope you all had an amazing day🙌🏼💗

Where have I been lately? • Boy have I been busy. I have been spending a lot of time during these first two months of starting my business by getting the little things out of the way. I thought going into it that I was pretty much ready but I wasn’t! I have been perfecting the little things that need to get done behind the scenes and I have put social media on the back burner! • There have been some benefits to this. I am increasing my client workload slowly and ensuring I can make every client feel like my only client (which is extremely important to me) and I have been able to get lots of things planned and ready to execute! • I think my biggest takeaway from this whole experience is that no matter how ready you think you are, there are going to be things you overlook and it’s okay! Take things as they come and don’t be afraid to just start. There’s still a lot to learn but I can’t wait for what’s to come! • In the coming week or two I plan to resume my posting schedule again, start writing blog posts, start an email newsletter, and more! • If you didn’t already know, I am working out of @evolve_strength_dt and I do have slots open! If you are looking to take your training to the next level slide in the DM’s! Invest in yourself!
