Sometimes I get so caught up in trying to go so far that I forget to remember how far I've already come. Sure I leaned out a bit, but I can’t express the mental changes that have occurred between these two pictures.⁣ ⁣ - I no longer binge in secret or go to food as comfort⁣ - I no longer punish myself for a bad day of eating by making myself work extra hard in the gym⁣ - I no longer stress out over the food I consume or restrict throughout the day if I overate breakfast⁣ - I no longer seek substitutes for foods only to feel unsatisfied and end up eating the real thing anyway⁣ - I no longer see food and think “if I don’t eat this someone else will and then I won’t get any at all”⁣ - I no longer am afraid to eat in public for fear of “validating” why I was fat. (true story. I thought if people saw me eating they would think “well that’s why she’s fat”.⁣ - I no longer make excuses for my bad habits⁣ ⁣ I want to express very clearly, I am not fat in that first picture. I have a few extra pounds on me, sure. And yes I am proud of my physical changes, but the real transformation here came mentally.⁣ ⁣ I used to rely on diet pills and cleanses, genuinely thinking they would help (newsflash, they don’t). If you’re on your 2nd, 5th, 10th attempt at a diet like I was, pay attention to the pattern. Don’t focus on “diets” because diet = temporary. We are looking for long term changes here! ⁣ ⁣ Now, I reward myself with a gym workout and use it to de-stress after a long day. I know I deserve to be happy and healthy so I push myself to go to the gym because I know that’s when I feel my best.⁣ ⁣ Change takes time. Slow and steady WINS THE RACE!

I used to never be able to wear low rise jeans without my belly hanging over top of it. & even better, the jeans on the right are just started to get a little loose now. The picture in the left I wAs not only over weight, but I was also in such a bad place. Mentally I thought I was worthless and that my life was soo bad and nothing could change it. It’s when I realized it was time to start grabbing a hold of myself that I really took fitness seriously. You have to get your MIND right before you can get your body right 🙏🏽👏👏 If you’re not strong mentally, you will never hit all the other goals you have in life and that includes fitness. 🔥Morning or Evening Workouts🔥 - First thing is first...whether you workout in the morning or evening or anywhere in between, the fact that you're getting one in is what matters. Some people will say the morning is better because of XY and Z and others will say the evening is better, but truthfully it is what you prefer and your preference! - However, there are benefits and detriments to working out at different times of the day! Working out in the morning is a great way to start the day, kicks up your metabolism to a whole new level of burning, is usually when you're the most awake to get it done, and definitely gets you energized for the rest of the day not to mention it's over and done with and you don't have to worry about it later! However, you have less food in you, thus less fuel, and if you're not an early bird, you're probably not going to have too much fun doing it bright and early😂 . On the other hand, working out in the evening is one of the best destressers from the day, you'll be able to lift more from the additional good in your system (more food means more fuel) and you can sleep in an extra hour or so, but you may have to push through fatigue that you gained throughout the day and psychologically it is a bit harder to have gone through a whole work day, still knowing that you have to workout. - Regardless of when you did it, there is going to be benefits and detriments! I personally prefer the morning if my schedule allows it and it is something I can stick to in the long term! Remember, consistency is what is important! . . . The woman on the left was ready for a change. She was ready to enjoy spontaneous date nights, go on vacations and be able to go to work consistently. She was 40ish pounds overweight and would turn to a box of goldfish, an entire pan of brownies and Grey’s Anatomy for comfort. The woman on the left would refuse to leave the house for a “girl’s night” because she was afraid that she would have a flare up in the middle of dinner. She asked herself on a daily, “Is this all that life is supposed to be?” . The woman on the right is far from perfect. She screws up, she still occasionally eats a brownie when she knows she shouldn’t. However....she has lost 30 pounds and still has some to lose but she is happy and healthy. The woman on the right gained back her freedom and doesn’t let her chronic illness rule her life anymore. The woman on the right decided to trade her $300 gym membership fees for at-home workouts that allow her to go at her own pace. She gained control of her emotional eating and...she has support + accountability from women just like her. She shows up for herself every single day and found that, despite her pain, she is STRONG. . If you are currently the woman on the left I have 1 thing to say to you. “If I can do it, SO CAN YOU!” And I want to help so that you don’t suffer any more. I want to help you break free of the emotional + physical bondage that is keeping you from living your life to the fullest! . YOU....you are worth fighting for!

Yes, you may feel right now that you are because it is an all consuming feeling of unhappiness with yourself and your lifestyle. But it is highly likely that most of us weren’t always like that. Sometimes we lose our way and when some people turn to drugs or alcohol, a lot of us turn to food. I am 100% a comfort eater. As soon as something goes wrong or I feel down, I turn to food and fizzy drinks. I know how I was before I gained all the weight and I keep that at the forefront of my mind to keep me going. . . 📸. First picture was 8 years ago when I was backpacking in Canada. Happy, fit and healthy. . Second picture was 2 years ago. After a huge upheaval in my life that led to depression and weight gain. . . The third picture is pending. ✨WHAT REAL LIFE PROGRESS LOOKS LIKE✨ Great Post 👍 #Repost @sarahdufflifestyleandfitness with @get_repost ・・・ - 👉🏻First things first please TAG a friend who needs a reminder of how awesome they're doing. - 👋🏻Lets talk about progress and the trillions of guises come in. - Week to week I see my online clients make progress in different ways. As you can see it's not all big and dramatic. It’s not just about what’s happening from a physical perspective. Just because you don't have an ab poking through or you haven't earnt yourself a world record in the gym it doesn't mean you haven't made progress. - When your claiming "I've made no progrss" I bet if you actually sat down and really reflect on your week you would have 100 percent made progress. - It may not be as dramatic as you wanted but progress is progress no matter how small so don’t ever forget that. - When you have spent years struggling to eat vegetables or remembering to hydrate then this is huge huge progress. - It doesn’t matter that it’s a long way off the end goal, it's a step in the right direction and it needs to be acknowledgd and celebrated. - When you have been living in a constant state of anxiety it can have a huge affect on your ability to be able to focus or function optimally day day. When this starts to feel its lifting even slightly this is a huge step forward. - When I hear this from someone I litreally grin from ear to ear because I understand how important this step is for future them being able to progress further. - When you haven’t exercised or even really moved very much for years then managing any steps or any movement for example stretching is a big progress. Not everyone is ready to hit the gym but don't underestimate the power of just moving your body more so for the love of god say congrats to yourself because "you done good ".✌🏻 - It can be very easy to overlook some progress indicators so my suggestion to you have regular checkins with yourself. - Write down everything and anything that is better than before and then give yourself a congratulatory tap👊🏻 - How did you progess so far this week?👇🏻

Time for push-ups. Reposted from @foundmyfitness - A new study found that men able to do more than 40 push-ups had a 96% lower risk of cardiovascular disease events compared with those able to do less than 10 push-ups. Push-up capacity had a stronger inverse association with cardiovascular disease events than aerobic fitness estimated by a submaximal treadmill fitness test. It is always difficult to establish causation with these types of studies and statistical adjustment for age and BMI suggested that some of the risk reduction seen with higher push-up categories was accounted for by these characteristics. Also, the study assessed the association between push-ups and cardiovascular disease events. These results do not support push-up capacity as an independent predictor of cardiovascular disease risk. However, a higher level of muscular strength has been associated with lower cardiometabolic risk independent of cardiorespiratory fitness in other studies. Muscular strength has also been shown to have an independent protective effect for all-cause mortality and hypertension in healthy men. BE YOUR OWN MOTIVATION. 💯 . 3 years ago i didnt know what a "healthy lifestyle" was. I then started following fitspos like @evanchildsfitness & @katyhearnfit and my life was forever changed. This was my first 12 week transformation with the #alphafemale program. I felt incredible. . I tried continuing to count macros loosely but fell off during the holidays. Today may have been my rest day but that doesn’t mean I don’t move my body. ⁣ ⁣ Rebalance + refresh it was today with a short yoga class curtousy of my virtual gym 🧘🏼‍♀️⁣ ⁣ I told you the other day that I kicked off a new program this week and OMGeee I’m so glad I chose this one!!⁣ ⁣ 30-40 minutes a day + 4 days a week is BEYOND doable for a busy #mompreneur like me!⁣ ⁣ But just because the workouts are shorter does not mean they’re easier 🙅🏼‍♀️ I’m actually sore AF today 😅⁣ ⁣ Anywayssss I’m gonna go spend some quality time with Elijah + Jason 🥰⁣ And after Elijah goes down for the night, it’s back to grind time cause your girls got goals 👩🏼‍💻💝 Have a good night 🌙
