⛄Back for me.... Legs for Van.⛄ . Some bits from our workout... 1. Working up in weight for dumbbell pullovers. Next week I plan on working on improving my range of motion as this heavy felt a bit dicey.🤨 Control is super important! Sloppy no goody.👌 2. Smith squats for the derriere.🍑 3. Rack deadlifts...using the Smith machine as our rack area was busy. The Smith machine allowed me to go a little heavier 195lbs/10 and it was interesting, but I think it's more challenging to do them the other way. 4. Single leg, leg extensions. 🦵 5. Close neutral grip pulldowns...again a little heavier, but need to keep cleaning up form. I like doing lighter weights on my exercises to warm up and practice targeting my intended muscles. . Happy Tuesday my friends!!! Ever wonder why you grunt when you're lifting?⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ Think of it as you have 3 doors, You glottis (in yo mouth), vagina, and anus. These doors are all openings to your inner core. And it's the inner core's job to manage the air in your belly known as intra-abdominal pressure.⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ Intra-abdominal pressure is used to support your spine when lifting something heavy or opening a jar of relish for a Sunday BBQ.⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ You may have also heard people grunt as they get up off the couch. Chances are they're putting a lot of effort into getting up.⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ So when you lift something heavy, these 3 doors need to close to provide a little extra support so you can complete the task at hand.⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ But what many people do is leave one or more of these doors open. Still very much in recovery mode from torn meniscus, torn pectoral, and something funky going on in the bicep.... To be honest...having a rough start to the week. It’s one of those weeks where things are a little busy and I’m just sort of going in circles in anticipation. So I’m trying to be kind to myself and just get in what I can. This morning, I easily could have skipped the run and gotten a head start on work matters. But I knew...I needed to slow down and take the time for myself to get outside and focus on the present moment. I almost think it is harder when you are in between race training plans...it’s too tempting to skip a workout...but for me, I still need to move just for peace of mind and body! An easier paced 4 miles checking out the holiday decorations....❤️

Don't be scared...it's not The Grudge🤣 Just me pushing through this workout. I woke up with a terrible sinus headache. I didn't feel like working out. Then I thought I'd do the first half (lift) and skip the HIIT. But I kept going...thinking I'll just do one round of HIIT...then 2...then I was done. I had to take my hair down cuz the weight of the ponytail was killing me!! Got it done. My head feels better. And I'm enjoying my breakfast!😋
