Truth be told, I’m not one to #mealprep but that doesn’t mean I don’t plan and prepare my meals! I find it much easier to cook larger portions so that I can have the leftovers for lunch. It also makes after dinner clean up and lunch packing happen simultaneously - a real time saver for me! Here’s a what I made tonight, Turkey Chili served on rice with a side of coleslaw... I chose #ekapadaurdhvadhanurasana or one legged upward facing bow (wheel) and it’s visually clear my head is below most of my body. . This flipped perspective can not only physically help prepare you for inversions but also mentally. Going upside down can be disorienting and even scary at first. . One does not need to do a one leg variation but slowly eliminating part of your foundation is also a great way to practice balancing shifts. . Damn our feed is fierce!!! But, I had already programmed my workout so it was a GO! • • Why wind is great: - Resistance training - Good practice for a windy race day - Forces you to find a mantra to get through it - It’s fun watching the birds float on the currents - Makes you appreciate non-windy days 😉 • • Today’s workout was 2 up, 5 x 800 with 90 RI and cooldown to 7. My goal was to keep them under 7:00. Average ended up at 6:57. What does transformation mean to you? It’s different for everybody. To me, it’s this picture; not only the outside, but the inside as well. . . This picture was taken exactly a year apart. Each year, I walk in the Komen Race For The Cure. Last year (left picture) around this time was the start of my journey. The pic on the right is me today. Whoa. 😮 What a difference. What a feeling. . . My journey isn’t done. In fact, I’m still on it. Along the way, I’ve just adjusted my goals....in the beginning, I wanted to be thin. Now, I want to eat clean, give thanks for my health, celebrate life, find my JOY, spend time with friends and family, grab stolen moments, be myself.....just BE. . .
