BODY TALK ✅ A slim waist and lean body doesn’t appear over night. The best strategy if you want to look good and feel your best shouldn’t be a “fad diet” approach that is going to make you feel like death. Stick to simple methods and master the basics! . 💖 Resistance Training I would encourage every woman to use resistance training for fat loss and/or muscle gain. More muscles will mean more fat burn, simple! . 💖 Balance Find time to keep your mindset, nutrition, training and sleep balanced. All of these are as important to one another, if one is unbalanced then the others can become compromised. . 💖 Plan Ahead Set out your meal plan for the week and use food journals as a way to control and monitor your consumption. Writing your goals down on paper will seperate the “i’d like to do something to improve” from “I am going to do something to improve”. A periodical aim (lose 3kg in 6 weeks) is a great way to keep yourself on track also! . Women, we have hormonal levels that need to be maintained and if our system is loaded with stress from the anxiety of sticking to a dangerously strict “diet”, then we are probably doing more damage to our bodies than good. A successful plan requires slow progressions so that long term it can be sustained. So train hard, find balance and plan for long term! ☺️👏🏽 #sustainability

KNOW - GETTING LEAN - Focus on the following and you'll be on your way to having those abs ready for beach season. - 1. Numero Uno: CALORIE DEFICIT- No matter what you do, there is no escaping the simple principle of calories in vs calories out. You need to make sure you are expending more calories on a daily basis than you are taking in.  This needs to be the foundation of your plan. Track your food and be very delibirate about it.  Make sure you know exactly how much you are eating on a daily basis, and remember this is about balance. You don't need to restrict ANY FOOD so long as you are aware of what you are consuming and make any adjustments necessary to ensure you remain in a deficit. - 2. Dos: STRENGTH TRAIN - In order to avoid being a flabby skinny person with no muscle tone, you need to be sure that you are incorporating strength training. A common mistake people make is ditching the gym and hitting the treadmill to burn as many cals as possible.  That's all well and good, but know that when you are in a deficit you will be burning away a lot of muscle along with your fat if you refuse to strength train. If you dont give your muscles a reason to stay, they wont...... - 3. Tres: EAT MORE PROTEIN - Yes, you need to make sure you are getting adequate protein to recover from stregth training.  Be sure to eat 1g of protein per lb of BW to ensure you lose as little muscle as possible while you continue to stregth train while in a caloric deficit. - So, it's January, and you have 5 months (unless you're an Aussie or some other follower in the southern hemisphere) to start applying the above and get in the best shape of your life in time for summer. Don't wait until May and think the skinny tea/ muscle man insta 5000 pill, insert fad fitness diet here,  is going to be the ticket to your beach bod.  What makes you think this year is going to be any different than the last 5 years you tried pulling that off??? I hope this gives you some fair warning and gets your ass in gear for summer 2019!! Taking a rest day today 💕 My bod is sore & it’s cold and rainy so motivation is v low 😂 - I’m feeling AMAZING though - probably the best I’ve ever felt in a very very long time 🥰 I’m going to be honest w/ you - bulking has been scary af. While I was not necessarily extremely under eating by any means, I put up a mental block of eating 2000 cals or less for way more than a year - which is definitely a caloric deficit for my body type especially with how often I workout. I got to a place where I was comfortable with my physique and didn’t want to risk gaining any weight (fat) back 🙂 - Fast forward to now & finally plunging into a “bulk,” not only for gains but for my metabolism and mental health - I’m eating 2700 calories/day & still counting 😏, v full but my energy and strength is unreal. I’ve been waking up early/easier, less tired as often, lifting heavier, and feeling better. You don’t really know how bad you’re feeling until you feel even better. I can’t thank myself enough for breaking mental barriers and stepping outside my comfort zone bc I’m feeling like a million bucks both physically and mentally! ✨

Post workout (if you wanna call what I did out there a workout🏃‍♀️) was this plate 😍 many of you have been sending me DMs asking about how running is going which thank you so much for being interested! I’ll be sure to give a full post in a couple of days when I can get my thoughts together about the whole thing but anyways the deets on this plate are 👉 1/3 cup @birchbenders paleo flour mixed with @vitalproteins collagen, and about 1/2 cup pumpkin purée, topped with pb, blueberries and @micheles_granola, and a side of @vitalfarms scrambled eggs with nutritional yeast!
