It’s been almost five years since going plant-based. I thoroughly enjoy the foods that I eat and the fuel that it provides to get through my swim-yoga workouts, and to complete daily objectives. There have been roadblocks along the way, but without the difficult times, it is far more challenging to learn and grow. Plant-based Foods, such as sweet potatoes, roasted vegetables, bibimbap, sticky rice, specialty pizza, fresh fruit and more, satisfies my virtuality and keeps me aligned, especially when life takes a curve. To move forward, avoid looking back wondering what you could have done differently. For me, I’ll be moving forward on this plant-based adventure, while strengthening other aspects of my life. The future is all we have to gain. You have nothing to lose. Accept and enjoy what’s happening now. Xo

I'm not going to bore you guys with my "looking back on 2017..." post because I'm going to wait until I'm hungover, amidst an existential crisis, questioning my purpose, questioning why I sent that text message on March 18th, and whether Becky understood it was a fking joke, to write & post it. For now, I'm going to treat today like any other day, making jokes, getting angry at men in the weights section, getting nervous about returning 50 ASOS orders to the local post office [why am I like dis?] and screaming at my best friends I fKING LOVE YOU SO MUCH. If you haven't sat down and "reflected on 2017" or made "goals for 2018" it's really fine. You can still do it at 00.01. You can do it tomorrow, next week or February. Don't let the pressure of a "New Year" ruin something that should be exciting. Roll with it. Make goals but make them goals that focus on general well-being. Being happier. Be kinder to yourself. Spending more time with friends. Roll with it. If 'lists' freak you out why start the New Year doing something that's detrimental your personal wellbeing. I am excited for 2018. There I said it. Positive cynic. Thank you all for your patience, understanding, support and god damn sense of humour 😘🖤

ARE YOU SOMEONE WHO LOVES CARBS!?🍟 ◇ . I absolutely love carbs myself. I can not go a day without eating carbs honestly. Theres so much of it and they all taste amazing. I'm a little addicted. . ◇ . If you're that person that is watching their diet and craves for carbs but knows they shouldn't cave in. Then keep reading. When our bodies crave carbs like bread, pasta, chips, pastries.. it's because our body is really looking for a feel good serotonin boost. But these carbs dont really satisfy us and usually we end up craving more. ◇ . Some tips to help them CARB cravings: ✔ Have some protein instead. It will help your blood sugars throughout the day. ✔ Magnesium will help regulate blood sugar levels as well. It will help regulate your insulin levels which reduces those cravings. So foods like green veggies or almonds. . ✔ Drink water. When you're craving a food, try drinking water to trick your mind. . ✔ Do something that will distract you, like go for a walk, do some yoga, watch YouTube videos. . ✔ Have a fruit. I find this works for me sometimes because I feel full and I am happy after for choosing the fruit over a donut for example. . . Now im limping around my apartment, struggling to do anything. So painful. So bleak. Im an active person. It's hard for me to sit still. I'm going to give it one more day.
