Most people are able to lose significant weight who attempt weight loss in their life. So why do we still have an obesity problem?⁣ ⁣ The weight regain statistics are STAGGERING. Within 1 year of weight loss 40-70% of people will have regained it all. Within 2 years the regain rate is around 50-85% and within 3 years 70-95% of people will have regained the majority of the weight they lost. 😭⁣ ⁣ But your body isn’t done there. When you diet you activate your body’s ‘self defense system’ that slows metabolic rate, increases the expression of genes involved in fat gain, and can even possibly increase fat cell number during early relapse if weight is regained too rapidly. 😱⁣ ⁣ In fact, the number of times a person diets in their life is actually associated with weight GAIN, not loss. Every time you diet you activate this system. The more times you do it incorrectly (fad dieting, rapid loss and rapid gain, yo-yo dieting) the stronger this system becomes. Over time, people become more and more resistant to weight loss if they do it incorrectly there are documented case studies of individual maintaining body weight under 1500 kcals per day because of how much they have abused their bodies.⁣ ⁣ In our book (link in bio), @peterdbaker and I crush fad diets, cut through the bullshit & explain what REALLY matters for fat loss. But more than that, we explain how to KEEP it off. 🚶‍♂️Walking 🚶‍♀️such an underrated tool for fat loss 🙌 ⠀ The bigger picture of losing body fat is getting yourself to move more and eat less… ⠀ Although sometimes this can be taken to the extremes of excessive cardio 4+ times per week and crash dieting ☹️ ⠀ Not to say there isn’t a time and place to be more than normally focused (you can still do this in a healthy, sustainable way) on crushing your goals - especially in the beginning to get the ball rolling and see some results 😤 ⠀ Walking should always be the foundation for whether you’re in transformation mode, just living your life maintaining what you’ve created, and for staying healthy ✅ ⠀ Any motive you have for changing your body needs to start small - hydration, sleep, better food choices, etc. are all the “little” things that last forever and replace those bad habits keeping you from your goals 👍 ⠀ It sounds so simple, but I think we’re all surprised that most folks aren’t getting near 10k steps per day with driving to work, sitting throughout, then driving back home to the couch 😅 ⠀ I love walking for a few main reasons: ⠀ 1️⃣ You’ll burn calories without ramping up appetite much ⠀ 2️⃣ It’s a great time to catch up with friends and family ⠀ ⠀ 3️⃣ You can bump your favorite podcast and/or audiobook ⠀ 4️⃣ Relieve stress after a long day and get some fresh air ⠀ 5️⃣ Awesome time to think and reflect on life ⠀ Are you getting your steps in to help with your fat loss goals? You can absolutely go to the gym consistently, drink regular protein shakes, have a personal trainer and NOT see positive visual changes and it’s entirely your own fault. A couple years ago I did a motorcycle skills course and was informed that in an event of an accident on the road it is always my own fault, even when I think it’s someone else’s. It’s our first instinct to disagree with this, however apparently the obligation of a motorcyclist is to pay even more attention to the surroundings, traffic, bad drivers, etc., than someone who is more protected in a vehicle. When I relate this to those going to the gym and not seeing results, they really need to take ownership and start paying more attention to the things they aren’t doing to achieve their results. Nutritional consistency comes to mind. Level of effort in the gym. Sticking to their training program. General activity levels. Mindset, and more. It’s their first instinct to think “I don’t know why I’m not seeing results” when really there’s a list of improvements that can be made. In addition, if you’re spending money on a personal trainer or coach but aren’t doing what they tell you to, it’s time to acknowledge this and step your game up. It's a common myth that's been debunked time and again. Doctors USED to think eggs would raise your cholesterol because they're high in cholesterol. Holy moly these don’t disappoint. Took me forever to eat, which I love. Gives you time to actually realize you’re full! You can easily adjust these for what you have in hand and what you want to fit your macros. Check her highlight “recipes” for how she does hers. . Mine were: @cutdacarb wrap (can use Joseph’s) FF refried beans Chopped zucchini, onion, and mushroom that I put in the air fryer for 2 mins first (at 375) liquid egg whites (microwaved in a bowl for 2 mins no stirring then broke up with a fork) Cherry Tomatoes Tostitos Queso Blanco @tonychacheres and TJ’s Onion Salt . I toasted my cutdacarb wrap in my toaster oven at 400 for 2-3 mins by itself (didn’t even spray or anything), then spread the refried beans with a mini spatula. Broke up in pieces to make chips, then topped with the veggies, eggs, cheese and seasonings. . Now I’m just super sad I can’t make these during the work week. 6 week progress pictures with new trainers who pushed me hard. Working with them for the past 6 weeks may not have made a whole lot of changes physically, but the mental gains were HUGE ❤️ • In January, I lost all motivation. I blamed not working out as much or as hard and weight gain on my health issues. I got diagnosed with endometriosis last november and it has caused excruciating pain and bloating, nausea and dizziness, and two periods a month. I got so frustrated that I dealt with it by overeating, eating lots of junk, drinking more than I should, and just flat out not being consistent. I continuously made excuses as to why I wasn’t making progress when in all actuality it was my own damn fault. • Through working with them, I regained my motivation. I realized I needed to stop letting my health issues control my life. I started getting back in the gym 5-6 days a week, committing to cardio, and making myself be consistent with my food intake. • I am in a completely different place mentally than I was 6 weeks ago. I finally for the first time in months have been able to see physical progress in my pictures. I can’t wait to see the progress I can make in the next couple months with my newfound motivation and positive outlook on my health. Thank you @sea b___ @dietitian.em.bogaudo for pushing me to become a better version of myself 💪❤️ •

Could be an awesome time for a super efficient workout. It could actually help raise your metabolism for the day and burn more calories. Get your gainzzz, get out, and have a great day. - 🌙Night time training has been shown to help strength gains. If you’re a night owl and like an empty gym, hit it up at night. Just be careful of your pre-workout intake that late. Could keep your ass up for a while. - 😎To be honest, it doesn’t matter one bit what time of day you train. Put your fricken music on loud, focus, and go be aggressive. Chose what works best for you, not what a little bit of research may say. At the end of the day you need to do work and push weight." 🌶Easy and delicious stuffed green peppers!😋 . My biggest advice for others is to realize eating healthy does NOT need to be boring! . You can make any dish more calorie/macro friendly simply by adjusting ingredient amounts, substituting ingredients and making sure to pay attention to your serving sizes! . Pre heat oven to 450 degrees. . Combine 1.33 pounds 93% lean ground beef , 1/2 cup Italian bread crumbs, 1/2 cup Classico Italian sausage pasta sauce (or sauce of your choice) , chopped onions (I like a good amount of onion but you can adjust if you want) , 1 clove garlic minced, 1 egg whisked, salt and pepper to taste. . Make sure to mix throughly. Take the green peppers and cut the top off in order to remove the core and take out the seeds. I then cut a little extra off the top in order to make it easier to put the stuffing in. . After you have stuffed the peppers top with a couple spoonfuls of the pasta sauce and then bake for 60-70 minutes or until cooked through.
