~📜La historia del helado🍦~ • • No sabemos con certeza quién fue la o el que inventó el helado. Pero lo que sí se sabe es que se tiene registro de su existencia en la Persia del Siglo III. Allí se ofrecía a la realeza un plato frío a base de agua y rosas. Pero los persas no fueron los únicos que consumían platos similares, pues hay quienes dicen que el creador del helado fue Alejandro el Grande (rey de Macedonia), quien disfrutaba de nieve endulzada con miel y néctar. Pero la historia que más ha tomado fuerza es la que se remonta a la Italia del siglo XIV, cuando Marco Polo trajo desde China -gracias a la Ruta de Seda- una preparación similar a un sorbete frío. Esta receta se fue expandiendo a tal punto que cada país le dió su toque específico, pero algo que permaneció constante fue la falta de acceso a este plato por parte de sectores que no pertenecían a la corona o a las Cortes. Por fortuna en el Siglo XVIII el helado dejó de ser exclusivo y logró conquistar el paladar de todo el mundo. This was created out of a place of pure cravings. I had just done groceries and the kitchen was my oyster. In pure gluttonous fashion, I decided to put together a giant bowl of everything I love and not give a damn about how anyone else might feel about it. The plot twist? Everyone loved it... a lot. Yeah, I guess that’s a good thing. But I was hoping to shame eat the entire thing in under 24 hours and hate myself a little for it. 🤷‍♀️ The tofu is pan-fried, which makes it delicious and not grossy-gross (which tofu can do be for me, even after 11 vegan years under da’belt) and also super crispy. Skillet Garlic Venison and Mushrooms Here is the thing, if you eat venison backstraps and you don't overcook them, they will taste good no matter what. This cut of meat is perfection. Please, oh please, never waste a backstrap on jerky, stew, burger, frying, etc. That would be like putting ketchup on a fine steak, you just don't do it. Just respect the meat, you don't have to do much, it's already delicious. Marinade: 1 cup #A1 2 tablespoons of Worcestershire sauce 2 oz red wine 3-4 fresh minced garlic Sprinkle venison with garlic salt and pepper then place in marinade. Marinade the backstrap for 24 hours. Heat a skillet on med high heat. Don't put anything on until it's hot. Once hot, melt 2 tablespoons butter in the skillet and drop all the backstrap and marinade in the skillet. Heat each side of meat about 90 sec and turn. You want to sear the outside on high heat and have the inside stay medium rare (125-130 deg). Pull least out and fill in a carton of chopped mushrooms and mix with sauce. Stir 3-4 min. Pull skillet off heat, put meat back in, serve. It’s one of those nights where you pull whatever you have outta your cabinets/ refrigerator to make dinner. No meat, and it’s still hearty and satisfying with avocado and artichoke hearts! The dressing is made with olive oil, lemon juice, and red wine vinegar. & I have to say, this turned out to be the bomb.com 🙌🏻✨ What should I call it?! . . Here’s how I made it: INGREDIENTS - 1/2 cup finely chopped red onion. - 1 red bell pepper chopped. - 1/2 cup black beans (rinsed & drained). - 1/2 cup white kidney beans (rinsed & drained). 1/2 cup garbanzo beans. 1 can artichoke hearts chopped, drained, with leafs cut off. - 1 avocado diced. - 1/4 cup feta cheese. - 1/4 cup pine nuts. - 1/4 cup sliced olives. - 1/2 tsp salt & pepper. - 2 tablespoons olive oil. - 1 tablespoon red wine vinegar. - juice of one lemon. RECIPE: Throw all ingredients together and give a gentle stir to combine!
