Those that get STUCK in their routines are those people who continue to do the same things repeatedly... - Despite their weight stalling, their strength staying stagnant, and nothing changing. 🤷🏻‍♂️ - This is what's called a "plateau". - And the only way out of a plateau is to make changes, to alter the variables, and to provide a new stimulus for your body to adapt to. 💪 - It just makes sense, right? - The tricky part is in knowing what needs to change. This is where you need to get smart with managing the variables in your program. The intensity of your sessions, your nutrition, your recovery (all can be equally important). ☝️ - Just, whatever you do - don't continue doing the same things in hopes that "things will change". - Make adjustments and don't allow yourself to settle into a comfortable spot. Keep your program fluid and results-oriented. 📈

Why is it important to change up your exercise routine?? . . For one it can get a bit boring doing the same old all the time and that can lead to a lack of motivation when it comes time for your workout! 🤔 . . Two! Your body gets used to all these repetitive exercises you're doing in the gym. It becomes very efficient and eventually your body will burn fewer calories even if you're doing the exact same amount of work! 🤯 . . Three! You can cause yourself an injury from over using the same joints and muscles constantly, switching it up a bit will give certain parts of your body time to rest and heal and will also start building other muscles, ones you don't even know you have 😉 . . So try new things! Take your time, make sure you have a light enough weight to get the correct form and switch it up a bit 🤪

DIET TALK So I know Canadian Thanksgiving weekend isnt technically over but I know holidays can be an emotional rollercoaster when you're trying to get in shape. With more holidays right around the corner, trying to lose fat, get in shape or simply maintain your weight becomes more challenging. The resistance builds and can leave you with not just a food coma but an EMOTIONAL HANGOVER. Feeling full of guilt, anger, frustration bc you didn't stick to your diet...again. I know I've mentioned this before... Yes it's important to pick yourself up and keep moving forward when this happens but I also know that if nothing changes, nothing changes. Changing your thoughts around yourself & food will build your self esteem (belief) & confidence to feel better equipped to over come and handle these situations when they arise. You might be thinking, "I can’t believe I let myself eat all of that food! I’ve totally blown it ... I might as well eat whatever I want and start on my diet tomorrow." . But there's no reason to wait Have you really blown it? No, Of course not! This catastrophizing way of thinking will make you feel terrible & have you believing things are far worse than it is. If you’re tempted to keep on eating do this instead: 👉Acknowledge your initial slip 👉Recommit yourself to your diet plan. 👉Remind yourself the benefits of getting in shape. 👉Draw a line. Don’t give yourself until tomorrow to get back on track, right now. 👉Give yourself credit for stopping at any point. 👉Be mindful of feelings of failure/helplessness. 👉Learn from the lessons. Common sabotaging diet "slip up" thoughts: ❎Sabotaging Thought: I can’t believe I ate that! I’m never going to lose the weight . ✔️Helpful Response: Everyone overeats from time to time. I can start again right now. It’s not a big deal . ❎Sabotaging Thought: This is too hard. I can’t do it. I’ll never be able to stop myself from over eating. I give up . ✔️Helpful Response: It’s unreasonable for me to be expect myself to be perfect. I am not a failure. I can learn something from this experience. The faster you change the QUALITY of your THOUGHTS the EASIER getting in shape will be. Was this helpful? 👇
