On a Tuesday night at 8:00 p.m.‬ we decided to go out for second dinner. 🤤 Over soup, salads, and sandwiches, we shared stories, caught up on life, and discussed our plans for the upcoming weekend (which included making plans to grab lunch or dinner at The Cheesecake Factory). 🥪 As we finished our meals, the topic of conversation became less about our weekend social events and more about our social media habits. 🤳🏻 As we talked about the good, the bad, and the ugly, our comments, thoughts, + feelings were driven by a singular thought, word, + action - COMPARISON. 🙊 With the rise of social media, comparison has become second nature. So much so, that It's almost impossible to view/consume social media without comparing or analyzing someone else’s[fill in the blank] to our own. 📈 Though I've shared this before, I believe it bears repeating: COMPARISON is the QUICKEST way to FEELING like a FAILURE. 🙇🏻‍♀️ When it comes to your fitness and nutrition goals, the process as well as the amount of time, work, + effort required in order to achieve those goals will be unique to you. 🏋🏻‍♀️ Why? Because your body, your personality,+ your lifestyle are different than anyone else's. ❄️ So when you begin to compare your process, your hard work + efforts, or your results (or maybe lack thereof) to someone else, you will, without fail, become quickly disappointed, discouraged, + frustrated and will begin to feel as though you are not enough. 😔 Your journey to a healthier + happier YOU is unique to YOU. And when you compare the beginning, middle, or in between's of your journey to someone else's strengths, successes, or beauty, not only do you diminish your own efforts, strengths, beauty, talents, and abilities, but you set yourself up to fail...time and time again. 🚫 Stop comparing, get to work, and please give yourself permission to walk a different path towards your goals that is relentlessly and fiercely YOU. 🙌🏻 When you do, when you allow your fitness journey to be different, you not only give yourself the strength, ability, + freedom to achieve success, but you are empowered to define what your version of success looks like.

I felt a bit like i was just trying to survive my workout today. Ladder Warm up 🔑 I included this ladder warmup with a resistance band and boy did it get my heart pumping. I always switch things up when I do cardio since that’s my least favorite workout day lol. Horraaaayy it’s Friday ‼️ - - It’s been a bit of a weird week for me and working out. I’ve been busy sorting doing other bits and being busy and have felt super shitty and down for not being able to gym for the past two days which has annoyed me even more?!?! It’s easy to say progress isn’t going to get lost, and it’s easy for me to preach that to my personal training clients, workout buddies etc however it’s harder to do yourself when there is not enough hours in the day to gym, or when the gym hours don’t fit in with my working day 😩 but today I’ve got back into the groove of it all and have been way more motivated and have done so much work I feel a lot better wooo!!!🥳 lol massive rant there sorrrryyyyyy - - I did a pull day today so really focused on my back and biceps, I did: - superset of bicep curls and hammer curls - cable machine single bicep curls - cable machine pyramid set of bicep curls - one armed rows superset cable flies - dumbbell flies - - Wasn’t the longest session but has definitely made me feel better after my very meh week of workouts!! Today @cremilyyy and I made @fitfactorysc our house! This girl right here has been my lifting partner since I came back to the gym after illness. We have been pushing each other and celebrating our victories together. At times I'm pretty sure she doesn't like me cuz I'm always up for adding more weight. Gotta get them gains yo! Today we deadlifted 195lb for 2 reps together. . It's the heaviest she's ever done (ring the PR bell!!) And heaviest I've gone since coming back! Woooot! . People say that miracles dont happen any more. But I'm living proof that they do. I am not exaggerating when I say I almost died in December. I was told by my hematologist if I hadn't gone to the hospital when I did, that I had literally DAYS left. Not weeks, not months, but days. And here I am, 3 months later, deadlifting 195lbs. That is 100% a God blessed miracle healing!! . I'm only able to do anything because of the love God has for me. I'm healed by Him, my strength comes from Him, every good thing is from Him. The light you see in me is Him! I'm blessed by Him in this love for lifting and pursuit of health. Yesterday morning (530AM) I did a 3500 metre row 😯 plus burpees and DB Power Snatches 🔥 Today, heading back to CFM for #xfit 💪🏻 Still keeping track of macros and trying (✋🏻 i swear) to limit sugars! I did a weigh in this morning and I’m H🌺A🌺P🌺P🌺Y to say there’s no changes! Important to know is that I never felt deprived on the Shred Challenge...you DO need to eat but knowing how to eat is the difference. Yes pasta is a carb but so are carrots and potatoes so you need to reduce how much you put on your plate. 🆗 My next goal is to lift heavier and pack on some muscle which will mean eating more than the 1700 Cal I am doing now. QUESTION: Do you ever struggle with contentment? 🤷🏼‍♀️ - Because well, I sure do. It can be so easy to look around, compare, and instantly feel less than or as if something is missing. ▫️ - 👉🏻 HONEST MOMENT HERE FOR ME: I thought for sure, at this point in life, I would have been married, with three kids, two dogs, a house and the picturesque backyard m. I thought for sure, I’d be settled and satisfied, as happy as can be. ▫️ - 👉🏻 INSTEAD, my life has been full of travel, adventures, new places, new faces, new degrees, challenges, mountains and valleys, growth, and experiences I could have never expected or dreamed of. And none of which could have taken place if my “perfect planned life” had happened. And for that, I am SO thankful and fully recognize God knows me better than I know myself. ▫️ - 👉🏻 BUT that’s not to say I don’t have hard days. I definitely do. It can still be hard for me to look around and not compare my road with someone else’s. Anyone else have a favourite piece of equipment at the gym? I love a good #logbar because they’re so versatile!.....I used this one today to do some #logrows but also used it for some #weightedsquats 🏋🏽‍♀️ 💪🏽I skipped out of the gym today feeling like I achieved a lot, it wasn’t too busy so I could get on all of my equipment, doing anything I’ve missed on the busier days this week - and rather than targeted training today, I upped my cardio and trained my legs, core, back and arms. Some videos from last nights training! Was an absolute killer of a session. DEADLIFTS: 200kgx2 easy reps, 222kgx1 and 170x2x2 speed doubles. SQUATS: Worked up to 180kg totalx3 Paused ZERCHER CARRY: Worked up to 163kg SPUD INC YOKE: Worked up to 253kg Then did some assistance work! ➖➖➖➖➖➖➖➖➖➖➖➖➖➖➖➖➖➖ Not trained heavy off the floor for a while or conditioned for heavy single so ill take a decent 222kg as a training pb.  Theres definitely more if i focused on it for a few weeks to get the technique right. Didnt sit into the pull properly, partly because i psyched myself out and partly because i couldnt roll it the way i like to with the platform not being very long! Theres definitely more there. Squats im happy with how theyre going and the carries and yoke are going well, especially after all the deadlifts and squats haha!
