I believe it is the healer’s duty to hold the patient‘s vision of healing, in order to help them realize it one day. 〰️ At each initial visit with me, I ask you “what is your vision for your health?”. There’s actually a sacred alchemy that’s happening here. In asking you the question, I open up space for you to declare what it is you want in the name of healing. Voicing it is like a prayer offering to the universe and sets you down a path of realizing that vision. By naming it, you shift your healing from a mere possibility to an actual declaration. 〰️ Then it’s my job to walk with you down that path, gently guiding you in the right direction and holding you accountable, while also accepting you and supporting you exactly where you’re at, without judgment. 3 things I knew when I started my fitness journey [way before competing was on my radar] . 1. I needed a plan 2. I needed to be able to eat *real* food 3. I didn’t know much and was determined to figure it out . Can do attitude or self-reliant ego? . Gold jacket, green jacket.. . Regardless. Let me know if any of this sounds familiar.. . 🙋‍♀️ I had tried everything, crashed and burned 47 times..”start again Monday” . 🙋‍♀️Sticking to something for 14 days wasn’t feasible, let alone 30 . 🙋‍♀️ WHOLE30 was more like WHOLE throw in the towel.. . Thus began the cycle of miss type A feeling like a quitter #realtalk . So desperate to change the way I felt daily . 🙋‍♀️ Sick of hiding..&&it directly correlated to playing small in all areas of my life.. . ..confidence at work, dating, making friends.. . I kept reaching for quick fix solutions.. . ..well-marketed BS that saturates this industry. I [probably] ok yes, I *knew* deep down it wasn’t legit but certainly hoped.. . ..just maybe this time will be different . Nah. Not even once 🤷‍♀️ . [INSERT what I know now…] um duh, outsource it aka hire a coach . That’s eventually what I did . I had created meal plans for myself of “healthy” options..(PS I’ll share one of those with you tmrw so that you can see just how bad it was && why) . So, I hired someone to teach me what to do, who understood the struggle && to hold me accountable and help this journey.. . Yanno, actually be a journey. Not one shit storm of a holding pattern.. . FINALLY. REAL, lasting results, while not completely sucking the life out of me 🥰 . The whole “die” part in the word “diet” was no longer my reality . AKA accelerated results (12 weeks mhmm yes plz) . 💃🏽Happy mind, happy body.. . Informed mind, sexy body I should say💃🏽 . One thing, that became SUPER vital to my success was inner work . Freeing myself from poor eating behaviors.. . Programs I’ve seen, donut 🍩 include this...so, . that’s what I’ve created for you . bc that’s what I seriously needed then.. . && you need now . I had one sachet of ww raspberry and chia porridge left in my cupboard, 1 egg and 1 banana so thought I would try this little experiment and mash them up together, put in the oven for 30 mins on 200degs and voila 💃🏼💃🏼💃🏼 I added 4tsp golden syrup to mine and cut into 10 mini squares which brought the total to 1sp per syrupy square 😍🍪😍🍪😍 . M O D E R A T I O N Do you practice the 80/20 rule? . Currently I'm in Menorca and to be totally honest I feel like I've eaten my bodyweight in bread this last week 🤦🤦. . But basically I still follow the 80/20 rule which is just a fancy way of saying ‘everything in moderation'. . Well fine, but what exactly does that mean? Well it depends on the context (and the health or fitness guru) but it's essentially the idea of eating nutrient-dense foods 80% of the time, and less-nutrient dense foods 20% of the time.⠀ . Make 80% of your food choices filling and nutrient-dense. And 20% of your food choices less-filling, less nutrient-dense. ⠀ . You can split it daily, weekly, monthly, whatever you prefer. But the goal is to allow you to fuel your body, getting all your important vitamins and minerals in but also eat some food we like just because you like the taste of it 🍫. . . An upgraded version of my peperami pasta bake filled with all the veggies 😍🍝🧀🌶 Serves 4 so 1 syn per serving! Carbs and cheese.. name a better combo 🤤 Used the Amatriciana spice mix from @jdseasonings . Even though this meal doesn’t have all the same ingredients, it’s a great herb mix to go with a pasta based dish 😌👌🏼 . . Fried chopped garlic and onions until soft, poured in the veg stock, tin of chopped tomatoes, chilli, amatriciana spice mix and the veggies of your choosing (I had mushrooms, spinach and peppers). Add the pasta and allow to simmer until the sauce has thickened and pasta is cooked, you can always add more water if needed! Topped mine with light cheddar cheese (HExA), a sliced hot @peperamitv (previous ad), chilli and more of the amatriciana herbs. . . I finished listening to the audiobook Atomic Habits by James Clear and another interesting concept he talks about is -> “The greatest threat to success is not failure its boredom.” He talks about once you get good at a habit it becomes boring and he says -> “You have to fall in love with boredom.”⁣ ⁣ I don’t know about this. While I ‘ve been eating the same lunch salad at work from Panera for around the last 5 years, when I’m not at work I eat other things specifically so I don’t get bored.⁣ ⁣ Same with working out. While I usually do the same workout classes right now, it’s a different workout than I was doing 2 years ago. Partially because my workout goals have changed but also because I think it keeps things interesting to try new things.⁣ ⁣ I can see how our lives can be more efficient if we’re in love with being bored, but it seems much harder in execution. What do you think about this? Are your habits you’re really good at boring? Are you ok with them being boring?⁣
