Scrambled eggs with scallions and garlicky mushrooms both cooked in ghee with half an avocado and a slice of cheesy toasted garlic sourdough with tomato and Parmesan cheese. Drizzle over the oil & sprinkle on the paprika, cumin, garlic powder & chilli. Toss to coat then cook for 20 minutes. - Turn the oven to grill & add the prawns to the baking tray along with the tortilla wraps. Grill until the prawns are cooked through & the tortillas are warm. - To make the avocado salsa, just combine the lime juice, avocado, salt & coriander. - Serve the wraps up with extra coriander, greek yoghurt & lime, if you like. - #chickenrecipes #chickenbreast

Let’s talk about steps, baby. ⠀ On the topic of 10 year transformations- all physical comparison aside, I’m astonished at where I am today in my health journey, compared to a decade ago. ⠀ ⠀ 10 years ago I was a new wife and mom and I think that’s where many of us (whether we’re aware of it or not) start making decisions that will really shape our families eating and lifestyle habits. ⠀ ⠀ In ‘11-‘12, I started counting calories and exercising consistently for the first time in my adult life. ⠀ In 2013, I regressed. I was a single mom, working a 9-5 type job, eating out for breakfast and lunch WAY too much. Dinner was often from a box or can 😕.⠀ ⠀ In 2014, I attended a Pampered Chef party and it ignited a little flame of a desire to get back into cooking for my family. (thanks, @health_nut_momma3 !) • In 2015, I attended a Wildtree party that made me aware of the nasty ingredients in many packaged foods, and kept me on a forward momentum of healthy home cooking.⠀(thanks, @gritterdeb !) ⠀ 2016: Third pregnancy and mostly intuitive eating. Super happy and content during and after pregnancy, even though I'm at my heaviest body weight. I’m loving every second of being a mostly SAH mom for the first time; planning and cooking meals for the family is really enjoyable. ⠀ ⠀ 2017: Calorie counting and fitness classes turned Macro counting and strength training (thank you @lizzymae1987 , you opened the door to a whole new world!). #IIFYM game strong. Gaining more confidence and creativity in the kitchen!⠀ ⠀ 2018: Professional goals and experiences collide with personal experiences and dreams, which led to the launch of TAKE CARE! ⠀ ⠀ Finally faced head-on with educating myself on the importance of gut health, and looking at a more functional approach to healthcare.⠀ ⠀ 2019: Diving deep into the Paleo lifestyle with the desire for maintaining its approach long-term. Maintaining a healthy body weight. Strength training for health benefits and the fun of it. Haven't tracked macros in weeks. I no longer fear hunger. The future looks bright for the next steps in my journey, and helping others on theirs! ⠀ 🥰

Has this ever happened to you? Dinner time comes around, you are really hungry, you get up, open the fridge and say to yourself “nah, I’ll just get take out”. I have done that SO MANY TIMES. Especially close to exams when I get stressed and I do not feel like cooking at all🤦🏻‍♀️🙅🏻‍♀️ Meal prep is good for your health and your wallet. By planning a little you can fit it into even the busiest week. Start by listing your meals for the week ahead and be specific. I like writing down what I am going to eat in different days during the week, it helps me stick to it and avoid getting take out. Here are my top tips for meal prepping: #1 - choose easy recipes. When you find a recipe that looks good, save it. Once you make your picks, make a list of each ingredient to buy, including how much you need. #2 - pick versatile ingredients. Make foods that work in a few different dishes. You might use chicken and eat it with pasta or with a side of baked potatoes another day. #3 - shop once. Once you have your list, pick a shopping day that fits your schedule. I personally usually order food from ASDA (the UK Walmart) and have it delivered to my door steps. This is especially good because I can research for the food I want to buy, and I do not actually have to go and look around in the shop which can be time consuming and actually makes me spend a lot more money because I usually end up buying stuff I do not need. Make a list and stick to it. #4 - pick a prep day. I have planned to cook everything on Sunday, so I only need to warm up my food during the week. It is mainly my boyfriend who does the meal prep because he loves cooking. I help him out if he needs something or I will be cleaning the flat in the meantime. You could ask your flatmates and/or family members to help you out, so it is more fun. #5 - portion it out. Divide large recipes into ready-to-go single servings, and you may save yourself some time during the week. It can also keep you from eating too much.
