Health is SO MUCH MORE than a booty pic and the way you look on the outside. Yes, I’m mentally happy and generally *healthy* (aka healthy compared to other individuals out there with very serious illnesses). But I’ve been dealing with my body not functioning properly for quite some time now and it’s time to freaking fix that😜🙌🏼💯 - First thing I noticed was stomach issues. Pain, inflammation, gas, bloating. Weight gain when I was tracking what I was eating and barely going over what my maintenance should’ve been. Fatigue. Getting a full night sleep 8+ hours and still waking up tired. These are just a few of my symptoms that I started to notice over two years ago. - My gut issues are basically under control (thanks to a low fodmaps diet) and I have gotten a lot better over the past year but I recently got some bloodwork done which highlighted a lot of issues I’ve been dealing with. We NEVER want to get news back that something is wrong with us, but weirdly enough- this bloodwork assured me that I’m not crazy and validated how I’m physically feeling😂 - Some things my bloodwork highlighted: ▪️I currently have low vitamin d- can be related to increased fatigue. ▪️I also am on the side of lower testosterone for a female (yessss ladies- we do have Testosterone and need it to function). This could also be impacting my fatigue and possibly due to my birth control (I need to look more into this😬). ▪️My liver isn’t functioning at optimal levels. It isn’t bad- but it’s not ideal. Same goes for my thyroid. ▪️I am insulin resistant which can also impact inflammation in the body. ▪️My cortisol levels are extremely high (could’ve told y’all that without a test 😂😜) - Going over these results soon with a professional and working with @teamlocofit to figure everything out. But I really want to stress to y’all is to PLEASE take into consideration how YOU FEEL on the inside. Not just how you look on the outside. Hope this was helpful or maybe prompts you to go get bloodwork done. Our health and livelihood for longevity is so important ❤️

That’s because blood flow and enzyme production in the gut are limited during stress.⠀⠀ -⠀⠀ 🤢Your GI tract may slow down so that your body can focus on dealing with what it sees as a threat, so you may find yourself constipated, bloated, and dealing with indigestion.⠀⠀ -⠀⠀ 💩Or your body may follow an “everyone out of the pool” policy, and things may run right through you.⠀⠀ -⠀⠀ 😰Bottom line: If you’re constipated or frequently rushing to the toilet, your stress levels may be past the area of “good stress” and into unhealthy territory.⠀⠀ -⠀⠀ 🛀🏼Take stress seriously. Think about how to take care of you. (You’re worth it, after all.)⠀⠀ -⠀⠀ 🧘🏽💆🏽💆🏼♂️Make de-stressing a regular part of your routine.
There are triggers worth working through and there are triggers worth walking away from. Can you decide when to do which? ✨ The biggest struggle I see in others (and to be honest, myself!) is enduring something for the sake of personal growth and yet, the growth may very well be practicing letting go. 💕 It's usually the most difficult choice but, when you consider your personal well-being and the nourishment required in self-care, it becomes a little obvious. 🧚🏼♀️ The last month and a half, I've been really putting attention to nourishment - it's my intention for the year after all! And cutting ties with a few triggers has been a tough call but one that's left me a little lighter. 🕺🏼 Here's to weighing both options and choosing the brightest of the two.
For many years people would ask me why I didn't smile and the question always felt invasive and truthfully it made me irritated. It's something I never thought about, I was too busy thinking about what was missing in my life instead of opening my eyes to my bright future ahead. I was sad, angry, depressed. Wine was my refuge and living in the past was a mind warping habit. One day I forced a smile while looking in the mirror until I started to cry, it was fake. I realized that I lost my smile a long time ago. I was unhappy, I had lost the connection to myself and I felt alone. Many of us have been there and writing this is certainly tough. We change our path when we have courage to live with purpose and by following our passion. CREATE who you want to become. Life BEGINS when we decide to honour the joy AND the pain and all the sticky stuff in between. I allowed my heart to explore beyond my mind and it's limitations. 4 years ago October 2014 my friend Susan Kantor introduced me to this amazing nutritional program and it changed my life and my family’s life forever. Pack lunch like a pro! For whatever reason I dread packing my kids’ lunches BUT I get so much joy from packing my own! So I’m running 🏃🏻♀️ with it! 🙌 Why do packed lunches rule??? Packing a lunch saves you money, the food will most likely be healthier & more nutritionally, and it’s nice to just have it there versus thinking, “what will I eat today?!?!?🤔” Here’s the game plan folks: 1) Grab a reusable sack that you ❤️ and that will hold all your containers (<~this is important) good news is that it doesn’t have to be fancy. Mine is a reusable grocery bag! 2) Cloth napkin & placemat, metal utensils, glass/stainless containers and a cup you love! Because we’re civilized! @smartypants this is an open letter to your complaints department. I bought these babies off of @iherb for the first time and boy was I in for a surprise. These bastards smell and taste like CANDY. Every morning when I open up this jar to give the kids their supplements I'm hit with an overwhelming smell of glorious, sugary sweets. Which of course makes me want to devour the bottle myself. Saturday was the first time I trained in a month and the #doms was crazy even though I deloaded! 😂😂 . I woke with lower back pain today for absolutely no reason but I stretched and felt like I could train so I warmed up with the empty bar then I did a set of 5 back squats at 20kg and a set of 5 at 30kg and my back was pinching and sore so I changed tactics and did 10kg goblet squats instead and they felt amazing! I have NO soreness now, it just feels a little tight! I can't believe it! .
