The most frustrating thing is when you’re trying to reach your goals and you know what you should be doing, but you just can’t stay on track. 😣⁣ ⁣ When I started working in the fitness industry a few years ago I still struggled with this. I had events coming up that I desperately wanted to look good for, but staying on track just felt impossible. I didn’t get why. 🤔⁣ ⁣ Here’s what would happen: ⁣ ⁣ I would think “I want to look good for this event in 6 weeks”.⁣ ⁣ So then of course if I slipped up I would think, ⁣ ⁣ “omg the event is in x amount of weeks, I better go a little more intense to make up for it so I still get to my goal”.⁣ ⁣ Then I’d go more intense, fall off track again, try and go even MORE intense to make up for it.... it was a vicious cycle. 😥⁣ ⁣ I am totally someone who’s impatient and wants things NOW. So this was very hard for me to get out of. 🥵⁣ ⁣ At a certain point I decided enough was enough and something had to change. ⁣ ⁣ Rather than having a short term goal, I was going to look at the bigger picture and not be so extreme. ☁️⁣ ⁣ This way when a slip up happened, I wouldn’t feel the need to “make up” for it. I didn’t have a short term goal, I was simply just trying to have healthier habits long term. If I ate something not planned I would think, “it’s okay, we’ll just get right back on track” and that was that! 😌⁣ ⁣ I no longer had that frantic, stressed out feeling in the pit of my stomach if I slipped up. I wouldn’t anxiously look in the mirror seeing if it “ruined my progress” I’d just forget about it, move on, and get right back on track. 😁⁣ ⁣ It’s weird because it’s such a tiny little mindset change, but honestly it’s what made me stop yo yo dieting. 😳⁣ ⁣ Even though it’s simple, it can take some time to really “click”. But truly think of this when you’re thinking about your fitness goals, and I’m telling you it will change everything 🙌🏼🤗

Gut update: so for those of y’all who did not know, the gut is LITERALLY like your second brain. Responsible for so many functions and even how your feeling. - I denied it to myself a lot but holy shit was I eating a lot of sugar free, artificially sweetened foods. Last night, I had such a fun time with my boyfriend at his work’s winter party! It was masquerade themed and so much fun… aside from how much pain my feet were in from my heels #sneakerlife)⁣ ⁣ ⁣ If you follow me, you know I am a big preacher of balance and talk about it all the time! Last night I let myself enjoy the night with drinks and delicious food (THERE WERE WAFFLE FRIES, GUYS)!⁣ ⁣ ⁣ But I didn’t throw the whole day away because I knew I would be indulging that night… ⁣ ⁣ ↠I still ate my planned meals⁣ ↠ I still got my workout done⁣ ⁣ I didn’t compromise the rest of my day either…⁣ ↠ I didn’t exercise extra to make up for the extra food⁣ ↠ I didn’t eat less during the day to make room for the extra calories⁣ ↠ And the opposite way… I didn’t throw my whole day away by indulging all day!⁣ ⁣ ⁣ NOPE. I just enjoyed myself and didn’t worry about a thing… and kept a balanced day.⁣ ⁣ ⁣ L I F E is all about balance ⚖️⁣ ⁣ ⁣ Not just in health and fitness, but all aspects⁣ ⁣ ⁣ Enjoy your weekend 💙

Good Morning 🥰🌤 After five days of tracking macros and going to the gym at 5am again I am down -1.8 lbs. Still trying to shred that holiday weight from food and stress 😖🌲This week I have fallen in love with the gym again, because for a while I couldn’t find my motivation with everything else going on. This week I 100 % felt addicted again and felt so motivated to reach my goals. The biggest motivation and benefit from going to the gym for me personally is how much it manages my anxiety, my mood, and overall response to stress. Working out is no longer just for losing weight, it’s almost a priority for me to tackle the day emotionally 💪🏼 I am ready to document my weight loss journey with the scale to hold myself accountable even though I back tracked due to the holidays. I love all my online fitness girl friends (they know who they are) who keep me motivated and pumped to go to the gym 💋👏🏼 Oct 18 Weight: 150.4 😍 (lowest in a while) Jan 1: 159.2 (Holiday Weight gain) Jan 19: 157.4 (Back to counting macros and 5am gym sessions) I want to hear your goals??!!! 2019 lets go 🖤 Ps. Currently eating 2600 calories a day; sometimes a little more, sometimes a little less, but it evens out over the week. Training 6 days a week with one rest day. Sometimes training twice a day depending on what classes I teach and because I love cardio with all my heart 💦 . . Wanting to do a cut in April before I go on holiday to Croatia so keeping calories fairly high until then, meaning I won’t have to reduce too much to lose a bit of body fat. ROASTED CAULIFLOWER HUMMUS | RECIPE ⠀ ⠀ Last weekend, I shared a sneaky lil' video of this cauliflower hummus on my insta stories and you all went CRAZY asking for the recipe. 😅 So, here it is!!⠀ ⠀ Long story short: I was in the mood to make my own homemade hummus, but was looking for simple alternative recipes that would work with my low carb days as a meal-preppable snack. It seemed like such a long list of requirements, but luckily, one of my FAVE wellness bloggers, Lisa Bryan of @downshiftology, had literally JUST CREATED the answer to my prayers.⠀ ⠀ And let me tell you, this Roasted Cauliflower Hummus ticks alllllllll the boxes. ⠀ ⠀ ☑️ Easy to make?⠀ ☑️ Low carb?⠀ ☑️ Meal-preppable?⠀ ☑️ Great for entertaining?⠀ ☑️ Totally & almost impossibly addicting? ⠀ ⠀ Although I switched a few ingredients to fit what spices I had currently in my pantry (I took out the coriander & tripled the amount of cumin), the result turned out BEYOND amazing. ⠀ ⠀ It’s smooth, creamy and packed with flavour. Oh sweet mama, all your babies want is YOU! I hope that you find rest in this today. You are already their superhero! Your face was the first thing their little eyes saw, your heartbeat was the first sound their little ears heard, you bathed and fed them, you read to them and kissed their boo boos. You played legos and put puzzles together. You were there when they spoke their first word and when they took their first step. You were there to catch them as they courageously let go and slid into your arms at the bottom of the slide. YOU ARE PERFECT just they way you are! They find comfort in your eyes, in your voice, in your laugh, in the way you smell. They don’t need the pinterest birthday party (they won’t even remember it) they need you to BE there! They don’t need you to have 10% body fat they need to feel your arms around them, they don’t need a perfectly clean house, they need you to listen and look into their eyes. They need you to find the things that bring you joy and do them! They need to see their mama smile and hear her laugh deep into her belly. This is definitely something this mama struggles with on a daily basis. As the years pass and my tiny little boys are near eye level, I realize my time with them is fleeting. So, I’m working on this. It’s hard to resist the pile of laundry and the dirty dishes, but my boys need ME. So, I continue to remind myself that the “stuff” will always be there, but my littles, they’ll be grown with a quick blink of an eye. Tag your favorite mamas below!☟
