This year will be the 4th time I would perform on a yearly poetry festival called The Colors of Life, held by Bahrain Writers Circle. This was taken on a rehearsal in 2016, the year where I first participated. ▪ "Sometimes, doubt stops me to let go. There will be a sound from within, something like, 'Am I doing enough, Have I done enough, Am I doing well, Have I done well, Am I writing good, Is my poetry well appreciated, and so on.' .. Just like a stubborn broken tape, this horrible sound of doubtful, plays continuously. And to stop it from playing, I may have to break it. .. And why I couldn't break it, still leaves me a wonder. .. Perhaps, this mind has started to fall in love with the feeling of being doubtful person. .. But somehow, amazingly, the noise of doubt could stop. .. And it stops at such rare occasion. A poetry event. .. There, right there on stage, time seems to not exist. The echo of doubtful noises seems to vanish. And what remains is my poetry. .. The melody of my silence. .. There, I let go everything. Even though the stubborn broken tape would play again, and in fact it is playing at the moment, but I am letting it to play. .. Because I know, the more it is playing, the closer I am, to have an intimate moment with my 'on stage' poetry. .. Qoft: Why do you write and what do you find motivates you to write in the first place? ................................... Like I've mentioned a few times😉 I'm working on a poetry book. It's taken years to realize that that is even something I want to do. And a few more to get enough confidence to even begin the task. At the moment I've got half the poems written, the title figured out, and the introduction completed. That's quite a bit of ground made...and even though I'm not even half way finished, I allow myself a pat on the back. Because I'm proud that I've completed even a portion of this project- I'm doing something that is quite challenging- writing. And I'm being patience with myself as I figure it all out. Allow light to enter your suffering. It is here to soothe your ache, to give voice to your sadness. My love, your silent tears need to be heard, they need to be felt so your soul can be revived. Pick up these tears, this burial shroud of pain. Cradle it close and ask her what she needs to say. Ask her what she needs to feel safe enough to unwrap herself from these cloths of grief. Let her be seen. Let this be her unraveling from the arms of death this hidden wound has kept her in.
