I go through periods in life where all I want is to soak up new ideas and new perspectives from other people in attempts to understand myself, culture, science (all types), spirituality, etc more. One of my favorite things to do is read a book that changes my perspective on something significant in my life. I used to be SO afraid of that... that somehow if I heard the wrong idea it would alter my current beliefs. If I had a piece of advice for people, it would be.. that no matter what your current state of belief is, don’t be afraid to explore. Don’t be so sure about one way if thinking that you’re afraid to even hear about another. Don’t be so convinced you know the truth about life, because there is so much unknown in this universe we live in, and so much to be taken from hearing all sides and all ideas. I’m currently reading a book called “Sapiens” by Yuval Noah Harari, and it’s absolutely amazing how much it’s challenging my thought process and opening up my mind to new ways of thinking about our humanity. It’s quite beautiful, really! I’d love any other recommendations for books that have done the same for you! • Wearing @aloyoga

If you remember my post from a few days ago, I admitted that this yoga journey of mine has been a roller caster 🎢 and more often than not I find thousands of reasons why I should simply with give it up and focus on type of workouts that will make me just « look good in pictures » 😅⁣ ⁣ However, I’m still here...still following my handstand goal (and after that my flexibility and backbend goal, and after that some other crazy goal). Why? Because of: ✌🏻Yep, those two little finger coming from the left side of the picture - among others - are one of the reason I still haven’t given up 🙏🏻 ⁣ ⁣ Surround yourself with the right people, and step by step their positive energy, decication and passion will infect you 🥰 The people I share this journey with, the people that help me get better and stronger, the people that inspire me in a daily basis, those are the reason I don’t give up!

About anger issues and how to overcome it. Anger isn’t just a small thing in a everyday life! Research has shown that chronic anger can increase one’s vulnerability to cardiovascular problems (Suls and Bunde 2005), cause problems in relationships, pose barriers to functioning at work, and get in the way of important goals (Kassinove 1995). For those who requested there is a bette way to understand and overcome it. 1) Study Your Anger. * To start here we need to understand what make us angry? Where are you when you get angry? Who makes you angry? Write all this down. The simple fact to write down things that can make you angry will make you understand them better. This isn’t important — it’s critical step. This step is critical because if you understand the circumstances that trigger your anger, you can avoid them or even prepare yourself to avoid the triggers 2) Avoid Triggers. I know what you guys are thinking, “I can’t avoid my triggers!” “If it was that easy everyone would do it” Well in reality it is that easy. C’mon. Be resourceful! Manipulating the way you think is one of the most powerful (and easiest) ways to change your behavior. For example, something that could trigger my anger is the traffic on my way home! An example of manipulating my mind is instead of building up my anger when I am in traffic that I can’t avoid anyway...I make sure I put my attention on something else, like knitting or a podcasts. So even if you can’t avoid a trigger, you can often do something to reduce its impact. Be creative. Train your mind. Some people close their door and cry or scream, This is what I do. This is stress/ anxiety management. A literal flip in perspective to change the energy of my day. It’s not common for me to go upside down at the office and it’s usually not until I exhaust all other methods (essential oils, diffuser, walk in fresh air, fun music, the list goes on and on) that I take the time to flip things around. Today was one of those days. Inversions increase circulation sending more oxygen and blood to your brain improving focus and concentration. They literally change your view of the world and send a surge of energy through the body.
