Hi Menos, Confidence 🙈. Talking about it is a really hard one, you basically have bad days when your hormones are off, it makes you feel unconfident anyway, no matter what you do, no matter what you think. Also, when you are tired, due probably of lack of sleep, this plays with head emotions and confidence, but you have to remember that all this too shall pass, it is just a matter of having a good day or a bad day. It is perfectly normal, even if you don’t feel sexy we all had this, it is all changeable, It is all about breathing, being kind to yourself, treat yourself, so if you want to lie on a sofa all day, just do it, if that makes you feel better. This I think is the key to feeling confident. today so please make sure at least you put your best lipstick on!! Have you got a great tip you want to share with the group? 💋 • • • • #friday #womenempowerment #love #yourself #loveyourself #woman #women #experience #megsmenopause #megmathews #menopause #menos #dontstopbelieving #youareincontrol #confidence #selfconfidence #believeinyourself

megsmenopause. Hi ladies, I want to share with you my experience with perimenopause.

Hi ladies, I want to share with you my experience with perimenopause. It wasn’t a slow start, I wasn’t experiencing most of the common symptoms listed. My only thing, I woke up one day with the worst anxiety ever, but for me wasn’t a signal as I didn’t know it could have been related to menopause. Moreover, I had the Mirena coil and my period was very light, or they weren’t happening at all, but it didn’t occur to me that could have been the menopause. Moreover, something else it should have made me think about it was that my sex drive was gone. And after a while, probably around six months, I decided to get checked for my hormones level. 💋 • • • • #relationships #womenempowerment #love #yourself #loveyourself #woman #women #experience #megsmenopause #megmathews #menopause #menos #dontstopbelieving #youareincontrol #perimenopause #whichsymptomdidyouhave #dealingwithperimenopause

I’m back again for another symptom and this week I’ll be talking about breast pain. For me breast pain was one of the first few symptoms I noticed when I started the menopause. They were sore, tender, swollen and even kept me up at night (on top of insomnia, can you imagine?) During this time I actually still had my implants in, so the swelling and pain was just intensified. It’s actually quite funny as when I went to see my gynaecologist and I told her about the breast pain she actually made me take a pregnancy test just to be sure. After the pregnancy test came back negative (of course) I decided to take my implants out once and for all! And I have to say the first thing I noticed when I got my fake breasts taken out is I was so much less moody, I didn’t have as much water retention, and finally how I willingly carried around 2 pounds of silicone on my chest for decades. Unfortunately these aching breast are another result of the lack of oestrogen (you lot sick of that word yet?) in our bodies. Has any of you ladies experienced aching breasts? 👯‍♀️💋💋💋 • • • • • #womenempowerment #love #yourself #loveyourself #woman #women #experience #megsmenopause #megmathews #menopause #menopausesymptoms #menos #dontstopbelieving #youareincontrol #plasticsurgery #nofakeboobs #breastimplantremoval Special Thanks to: @Johansfordsalon for my hair and @erica.a.f for filming and editing

Hi Ladies, what do you know about eating vegetarian or vegan? Or without being extreme, just reducing animal product intake? We know it's good, I am 100% for it. I absolutely love a plant based diet for many reasons, but especially for the following: -It reduces the cruelty to animals. This is something I cannot cope with. -It reduces our impact on the planet, which we need to consider for our children -Your health. There are endless advantages to your body on a more plant based diet. -It also helps if your weight has increased, you can probably eat all your favorite meals but they can be all plant based, for example, vegan sausage and mash, which I put olive oil in the mash instead of butter, lots of black pepper and veggie gravy with onions. Delicious 😋 You can have everything you love without having any animal product. There are so many good vegan cook books out there or just simply go online .This weekend play around, have a go, try make some of your meals vegan! Also, most take aways and restaurants now cater for vegans too ... Try a vegan pizza 🍕 so without the cheese (or vegan cheese if you like) It is delicious, just add extra veggie toppings and it’s half the calories and cholesterol so win win ladies! Also, did you know that oreos are vegan (go on, treat yourself😂)💗😂💗 Going more plant based basically ticks all the boxes, therefore guys, try it out or at least start small by doing meat free Monday, or deciding to make one meal a day vegan this week. Mood swings are inevitable. You need to let your family, your partner, everyone to know about it, about your mood swings that they will come for nowhere, you have to let them know. You can’t help it, it will just happen and you are not a mad woman, it is just as it is. It is better to tell them anyway it makes life so much easier. I never suffered even of PMS, so I am not sure how it is, but I know it can be really bad, it can be even 10 days before the period. For my mood swing, they were intended that I got emotional, but never got angry. I do a lot of mindfulness, so maybe that’s it, I really check what I say before I do. So, my suggestion is to try meditation and mindfulness for this symptom. 💋 • • • • #relationships #womenempowerment #love #yourself #loveyourself #woman #women #experience #megsmenopause #megmathews #menopause #menos #dontstopbelieving #youareincontrol #moodswings #menopause #eveningsout #sociallife

megsmenopause. For today’s symptoms episode, I’ll be tying up 3 symptoms in one video

For today’s symptoms episode, I’ll be tying up 3 symptoms in one video! Electric Shocks and Tingling extremities which I have never actually experienced myself, but have heard a lot about, and burning mouth, which is one of the symptoms I first started noticing when I started the menopause. However, all three of these are under the same umbrella of symptoms, which are ones that seem quite weird and random when you first get them. Of course, when you first started getting any of these symptoms, like me you probably thought it was all in your head. For the burning mouth, looking back I actually had it for years before I finally asked my gynaecologist about it, and found out it was actually a symptom of the menopause and can even start during perimenopause! It really makes you wonder what mother nature is going to throw at us next. We’ve got at least 34 symptoms for the menopause, and they’re never something normal like a headache or the odd stomach cramp, but instead the feeling of pins and needles in your hands and feet, and getting electric shocks in bed! Isn’t being a woman fun? Anyway Menos, I’d really love to hear if any of you have experienced these symptoms too and if you have any tips! Hello ladies! Have you always felt ok going on holiday during those first rocking menopause years? I wasn’t. The first time I went on holiday with anxiety I didn’t share it with the family, and that was a mistake. Everything was overwhelming, from finding restaurant for the family, to choosing what to visit. For me it wasn’t being in holiday, it was like being in a boots camp! It wasn’t like before, as before I liked not being home (that was the bit I used to love) as every day you are thinking of things to do, new places to visit. For me was just like going to hell, I had nausea and I was exhausted, I needed holiday when I got home. Since we book holidays a lot in advance, you never know how you are going to feel like, so it is always a surprise. Even on HRT you still feel different, your body it is not the same anymore. As today I woke up and I am absolutely exhausted, but until yesterday I have been thriving. Hello

-How family should know about menopause to give women support Hello Menos, I just wanted to share with you how my menopause journey started with my family. So, I went to my GP and I asked them to print out all the infos they have about menopause, then I got my family together, business partner, partner, my daughter. I got them in the room, I put all the papers on the floor, and I started explaining that I had been diagnosed and I was going through the Menopause, I was going to have a number of symptoms. With the menopause, it is the same as everything else, you know it, you understand it. Making the family aware that you might be over emotional, with no energy, that you might be angry. Tell your husband “I am not into sex”. One thing I remember is that my partner at the time was a bit of hypochondriac, and he was a reading everything, even the negative bits. I was really open about it. How can your family cope otherwise, with no explanation! In different culture, it can be difficult as you can’t really speak about it. I would love to hear experiences from women with different culture, or women they didn’t want to share the journey with their family, or women they couldn’t. For me, it is always better to make your family aware. Knowledge is power! Hi ladies, I have never really suffered from hot flushes, but I have anyway some suggestion to share. This is what I think and what I do personally. 1) Women should look about doing a proper makeup, a lot of women put more makeup as they get older, instead of a very light moisturizer, and light makeup it feels much better and gives a fresher look. Moreover, it comes easier if you have to apply it when you are out. 2) On top of that, there is nowadays appropriate underwear, cooling scarf, gel patch that people carry around. There is MegsMenopause Rosey Rain spray, it helps to feel a little bit cooler, but also keeps the redness away because of the marshmallow root extract it contains. I’ve never experienced it but I guess you have to be prepared with clothes that do not get immediately wet and just in case, to have some clothes for a change. I would probably suggest to not exaggerate with spicy food and wine as it wouldn’t help the hot flushes situation. Any other suggestion from women that experience hot flushes? 💋 • • • • #relationships #womenempowerment #love #yourself #loveyourself #woman #women #experience #megsmenopause #megmathews #menopause #menos #dontstopbelieving #youareincontrol #hotflushes #menopause #sociallife #events

The M Blend CBD products go through a manufacture process to ensure a top quality final product. From “cold press” extraction, you get a beautiful, soft, Full Spectrum Entourage Oil, meaning all elements of the plant are included in the oil. This ensures you get the whole plant benefits, instead of the lesser benefits from isolating a single part of the plant. We then take the raw extract, rich and dark in colour, triple filter it until it’s a lovely golden colour. From that point, we can take a cannabinoid lab test, and then either bottle it or blend it for edibles, sublingual drops, cosmetics or creams, mixing it with essential oils and natural waxes to make our full range. So I am absolutely in love with the full range of our CBD products. What do you think? megsmenopause. So a bit of a sad one from me today...Osteoporosis, which is something

So a bit of a sad one from me today...Osteoporosis, which is something that my mum unfortunately suffered from as well. This quite a hard topic for me to talk about actually, as it is something that is so personal to me and has affected my life in so many ways. While I knew that it was hereditary, I lived my life trying not to think about how I might one day suffer from the same disease. I suppose we all try to think of the best, and "that won't happen to me". I thought I was invincible...that was until the menopause. Osteoporosis is not only something that you can get through your genes (although it does raise the likelihood of it by a lot) but is also something that can be developed during the menopause. The lack of hormones in our bodies; the oestrogen, the testosterone, and the progesterone, all affect our bone density, which can lead to Osteoporosis. If you're sat at home right now and you think you might be showing signs of bone density loss, then please don't hesitate to see a GP and get a Dexa Scan which can confirm any bone loss. I was quite fortunate as I caught mine early at 5___ whereas my mum only found hers out much later in life. It's because I caught it so early, that I am now able to take pre-emptive care to ensure my osteoporosis is managed as I get older. But I would love to know your stories, I'd love to read in the comments below the experiences you have all had with this sly disease 💋 • • • • #womenempowerment #yourself #loveyourself #women #megsmenopause #menopause #dontstopbelieving #youareincontrol#mentalhealth Special Thanks to: @Johansfordsalon for my hair @rikki.casey for my make-up @erica.a.f for filming and editing

Anais Gallagher (Noel Gallagher and Meg Mathews daughter) has spread awareness about lying down whilst taking medication, after she was hospitalised following an antibiotic getting stuck in her oesophagus. Meg, Anais’s mother, was the first to reveal she was in hospital and on a drip. Now the photographer and model has been discharged and has taken to Instagram Stories to address what happened to her and to remind everyone not to lie down when taking tablets. She wrote, “Just wanna clear up what happened to me. About a week ago I took an antibiotic tablet and lay down, it got stuck in my oesophagus, I was completely unaware of this, and burned the tube causing an ulcer. Then for the next 5 days (I) was in agony, but three days ago it became so bad I couldn’t eat or drink so I was admitted to hospital. The nurses and doctors at The Princess Grace Hospital pumped me full of fluid and medication and now I’m much better. I was discharged this morning and we all good. So word of advice, don’t lay down if you’re taking meds.” #LikeForLike

One of the most controversial conversation I ever have is about hormonal unbalance. Yes, because, as all women know hormones can change daily, (probably even hourly in specific days but let’s leave it for another time) it just changes, I have had blood test in which I had very low oestrogen and progesterone, did the test again and having too much hormones! Then, after that experience, I usually go, with what I feel. Because now I know that having oestrogen high, makes me more anxious. But I didn’t know this until I went and got checked. It is hard because then too low instead it can be detrimental. It is all about balance. So My daily reminder for you is that you should stick to the minimum dose of HRT that you feel your body is being responsive to (whatever form you’re taking if you can). I would love to hear you ladies! How does it work for you? How long did it take for you to find your sweet spot of HRT that make you feel in control of your life again?!💋 • • • • #relationships #womenempowerment #HRT #hormones #oestrogen #estrogen #love #yourself #loveyourself #woman #women #experience #megsmenopause #megmathews #menopause #menos #dontstopbelieving #youareincontrol

Hi IGTV, so today we're going to be talking about the ultimate form of self-love...masturbation! If you've been following me for a while now, you'll know I don't have any problem talking about this subject. Because honestly it's something that is completely natural and there's no need for any of us to be embarrassed. After all, ladies, let's admit it...we've all done it! Personally, for me, I've been doing it from a young age in my teens, and I've been doing it all the way through to my 50's. However, ever since I noticed my libido started to drop one of the things I noticed is how much harder it was to climax, especially with a partner. This is where masturbation really comes in handy (pardon the pun). Masturbation is great as it lets you enjoy yourself at your own pace, and most importantly allows you to focus on clitoral stimulation, which 60% of women need in order to achieve orgasm. One of my favourite tools for this, of course, is my rose gold bullet. It fits in your bag, you can hide it easily on your nightstand, and most importantly it provides the stimulation I need to get myself feeling amazing. However, let's not forget that with loss of libido and the menopause, in general, comes it faithful companion Vaginal Dryness (isn't being a woman fun?). For this, I would recommend using a really lovely lubricant to help things stay nice and moist. I'd obviously recommend my Motion Lotions (oil and water-based), but in general, the lubricants you should be looking for are mild, and gentle and are free from any scents and flavours. These extra chemicals will only irritate and dry out your vagina in the long run, and for women already suffering from dryness and sensitivity, this is something we do not need. Anyway, Menos, hope you liked this week's IGTV. Hope you're all not blushing too much! 💋 • • • • #womenempowerment #yourself #loveyourself #women #megsmenopause #menopause #dontstopbelieving #youareincontrol#mentalhealth Special Thanks to: @Johansfordsalon for my hair @rikki.casey for my make-up @erica.a.f for filming and editing

megsmenopause. Hello ladies, with summer approaching and bikini knocking at your door

Hello ladies, with summer approaching and bikini knocking at your door, we need to have a chat about weight loss. It’s not HRT that make gaining weight, it is just our beloved mother nature that decided we need to change shape, we don’t have energy, therefore working out is not an option, and everything slows down. As a result, we put weight around the middle, food is making you tired. So, first of all, food is one of the keys. 95% of the time, I would try to be very good as it will pay out, in terms of body and energy. I think we should have around 1200 cal/day (different from person to person, to the amount of exercise we do and many other factors), and portion size is very important, and I usually eat a lot of greens. It is fundamental to be very conscious. Moreover, it is necessary to be able to be realistic, infact, you have to exercise, move your body. If you can’t walk at least the 10000 steps per day you need to find another way. If you measure them, they are quite a lot of steps! HRT will give you that bit of energy. Then you lose muscle mass as well, so in order to maintain yourself a bit, a clean diet and exercise are strongly recommended. What are your secrets for your body weight?💋 • • • • #relationships #womenempowerment #love #yourself #loveyourself #woman #women #experience #megsmenopause #megmathews #menopause #menos #dontstopbelieving #youareincontrol

Staying fit during the menopause is so important. I realise that sentence alone has put many of you off this post already 🙈 I know the last thing you want to be doing when your having a hot flush or having a searing headache is to go out and go for a run. One of the best ways I found I lost weight and stayed fit is just getting on a treadmill and just walked. Not jog, not run, but just walk. Trust me, do it for an hour or two a few times a week, just prop your ipad or phone up, put on an episode of something on Netflix and just walk! You can even phone up a friend and just have a chat! Catch up with them and have a laugh while working out! Exercising doesn't have to mean lifting heavy weights or going out and doing 5k's (although doing that is AMAZING as well!) Our bodies deserve love and kindness, if you don't feel like doing a hard work-out, don't feel as though you've failed. Low impact exercise is still exercise and it's still definitely a lot better than laying on the sofa all day, which is always so so tempting 💋 ⠀ •⠀ •⠀ •⠀ •⠀ #relationships #womenempowerment #love #yourself #loveyourself #woman #women #experience #megsmenopause #megmathews #menopause #menos #dontstopbelieving #youareincontrol

Read a quote the other day that said: "Being honest may not get you many friends, but it will get you the right ones". You all know me as someone who isn't afraid to say what's on her mind. I don't care about saying the word "Vagina" or "Labia" or saying things like "women should masturbate more"...etc. But I know this can be too much for people and can put them off me. But really, who gives a s*** about what other people think of you! I know so many women out there feel too embarrassed about the symptoms they're going through to reach out and ask for help. Some women find it hard to even admit it to themselves. But we have to break the taboo around the menopause together ladies! We go through the menopause at around 40-50 (some even earlier!) we have decades of our lives left to live, let's not waste it worrying about things we can't change! megsmenopause. Welcome back to the second instalment of my IGTV Series on Menopause S

Welcome back to the second instalment of my IGTV Series on Menopause Symptoms. Today I'll be talking about one of the most common symptoms many women experience; Loss of Libido. As someone who used to have such a big sexual appetite, and suddenly one day it just went away! Even little things like getting dressed up for a night out didn't excite me anymore. It wasn't even specifically the loss of libido, but it just felt like something was missing in my life. I wasn't feeling sexy inside, so why did I want to put in effort on my hair and make-up? The loss of libido really affects every aspect of your life. However, this symptom cannot be treated just with medicine (though testosterone and HRT can help), YOU also have to do your part to bring it back. This means putting in the effort to look a little sexier, not for anyone else but yourself! Once you start finding your own sexiness within yourself, then the rest is going to follow along naturally. This can be really little things as well like wearing fancy lingerie under your clothes, or wearing that nice perfume on your dressing table, or wearing that gorgeous shade of red lipstick you've been too nervous to wear out. Finally, the biggest piece of advice I always give women who feel their libido has gone is to Masturbate! Yes, you read that right, masturbation is a fantastic way to get yourself in the mood for climaxing again. Of course in the menopause, even climaxing can be more difficult and can take longer than usual. For this, I would recommend getting yourself a little bullet vibrator which you can purchase in a lot of Drugstores actually. But I'll go into this in more detail next Monday in my next video, so be sure to check that one out! 💋 • • • • #womenempowerment #yourself #loveyourself #women #megsmenopause #menopause #dontstopbelieving #youareincontrol#mentalhealth #lossoflibido Special Thanks to: @Johansfordsalon for my hair @rikki.casey for my make-up @erica.a.f for filming and editing

It's finally beginning to feel like summer! This means barbequing and spending as much time in the sun as possible. This can be great as it gives your body plenty of much-needed vitamin D, which can be great for building up your immune system, and for healthy bones (as someone who has been diagnosed with Osteoporosis, this is something that I have to make sure I get). With this, remember to take care of your skin and to remember to use sunscreen to protect yourself against harmful UV rays. Remember you don't need to burn in order to tan, and sun damage can last a lifetime. Prolonged sun exposure can cause premature ageing (don't need any help in that department), dryness and not to mention can become more than 90% of skin cancer is caused by prolonged sun exposure.
