Right then body.... Let's be having ya! . . . . After months of feeling tired, poorly and generally lacking in any sort of enthusiasm for life I've decided to take a bit of control. I don't actually do anything by halves so I'm going to try every vitamin going to boost my body back into shape. I bought them from @myvitaminsuk and at the moment NHS staff get 56% off so this little lot was a bargain. . . . To explain each one: . Vitamin D3 : The sunshine vitamin. Extremely appropriate at the moment given that the sun has buggered off and left us with constant rain and dark skies. . Wakey Wakey : 16 vitamins and minerals for energy that can help you to kick start your day. . Iron & Folic acid : I'm slightly anemic so should be taking iron every day anyway, but this blend has some added folic acid that helps me to absorb the iron and boost my metabolism. . Coconut & Collagen : in all honesty I'm not sure what the coconut does but according to the internet adding collagen to your diet can help to add a youthful volume to the skin, and I can't afford botox so what the hell let's see. . The 2 big bottles at the back are a CLA & Glucomannan, they came as a set and are hopefully going to curb my appetite a bit whilst I'm trying to find the energy to start exercising again. (Although I'm on day 3 and as I type my tummy is telling me I need to make some toast) . . . I know that a healthy balanced diet provides all of this, and exercise will naturally increase my energy levels, but sometimes you just need a little help getting in that zone don't you? . . . . A story about my hands and #ocd - This is a bag of almost empty organic white cheddar Cheeto puffs (They’re delicious btw ☺️😋). I had taken this photo to show that I ate the food, when I struggled with eating and ocd. Granted, eating was an issue for me with ocd, but I’m here to talk about my hands. I used to excessively wash my hands with hot water. It wasn’t good. Another thing that I would do and am still doing is not eating food, like snacks, with my hands. If I haven’t washed my hands, I usually don’t eat the snack with my hands. I eat the food by using the wrapper, tilting the bag or using a napkin. I remember feeling weird about the way I ate in public, like one time at school. Now, I’ll eat with my hands more, and that makes me proud of myself. So here’s the deal. All humans have a negativity bias. That means our brains are designed to scan for potential danger all the time. Our brains naturally put a lot for focus on the negative because attending to the positive stuff doesn’t keep us alive, but looking out for the bad stuff does. . Luckily we live in a world today where most of us aren’t in physical danger on a daily basis. It would be okay for our brains to relax and start paying more attention to the good, but we haven’t evolved enough for our brains to know that yet. So in the mean time, we have to actively teach our brains to focus less on the negative and more on the positive. For some people, this can be a real challenge. . I’ll give tips for how to do this in my next post. For now, what are your primary challenges in seeking out the positive? It has obviously been an impossible task and has weighed heavily on my shoulders. I’ve slowly been learning to let go of the pressure to make everyone happy and to fix every problem around me.
