If I have seen further it is because I’ve stood on the shoulder of giants: Confession time, when it comes to mobility, mine is very limited. Maybe you’re not surprised or offended by that but seeing as part of my wellness practice is in coaching mobility I’m looking to open up more workspace so I can be a better representation of what I’m attempting to give to clients. Which brings me back to the saying I started this post with. When it came to things like wrestling, body work or endurance training I’ve had many mentors and teachers. On my senior night (years ago🥴) I took a picture with 7 coaches after my final home wrestling match; that was literally just a fraction of the coaches that had enhanced my wrestling and helped get me that 135th varsity win that night. Mobility training is no different and I’m excited to be doing @coachzachdeck #remotekinstretchmembership to expand my ranges and my knowledge of this style of training. The muscles are weak from being overstretched. . ⭐️Concave side- This is the hollow side of the back. Muscles here are shortened which makes them denser and less flexible . So with exercise our aim is to being the body back into a balanced, pain free state for the long term management of Scoliosis. This is achieved through . ⭐️Stretching and lengthening the Concave side through specifically targeted exercises. This will ease pain by taking pressure off bones and nerves . ⭐️Strengthening the Convex side through performing unilateral (one sided) movements. #Repost @myo_flow (@get_repost) ・・・ Loaded Pigeon Stretch . Hip mobility is an important aspect of lower body flexibility to develop for performance, strength, injury prevention, and more! In addition, when trained correctly, it can help make OTHER mobility goals easier . One example of this is the Loaded Pigeon Stretch. This is similar to a Pigeon Stretch from Yoga, but instead of using a passive version, what we will do here is use a loaded version . Beginners can place their leg on an elevated surface then allow the hips to sink down. The further your back leg goes and the more your hip sinks, the deeper the stretch . As you get stronger, you can work toward getting lower and lower with the Loaded Pigeon Stretch until you are on the ground and don’t need assistance from the hands . Advanced trainees can perform this movement between two level surfaces which is the hardest variation . Performing this can increase hip mobility, squat depth, Pike mobility, and more! . If you experience knee pain, adjust the angle of the lower leg until it doesn’t hurt and then work towards having it reach 90 degrees as you get more flexible! . I figured Now's as good a time as ever to share a little bit about myself & my reason for being So appreciative of physical therapy in the pursuit of a career in exercise and wellness. It's a sad truth that we only appreciate things in their absence. So to put a too long of a story short, and leave you all with what matters most it is: 》Appreciate what you have going for you right now. How can you move today to feel better tomorrow?《 . Freshmen year of college, a small tweak in my left hip hinged on my ability to walk, let alone run, or do much of anything. After two years of trying every treatment option in the books, all it took was an experienced physical therapist who referred me to an excellent orthopedic surgeon, to recieve a proper diagnosis, and move forward from there, figuratively, and literally! All it was was a small labral tear due to femoroacetabular impingement, which in my case, could only be seen in an MRI Arthrogram (more on all this, from my extensive studies, in future posts). . Being so passionate about this field, I followed my physical therapy protocol to the T, with a team of professionals, and in turn gained the greatest outcome imaginable!! I feel stronger with every passing day, but more importantly, i appreciate physical activity more than ever before. If there's one thing you gain from this post let it be this: 》Our ability to move is truly a privilege. Honor it. Honor your physical body, and it's innate desire for movement.《 You know you feel better when you do😉! . And we're gonna be here to help you find what feels good💃🏼🤸🏻‍♀️🧘🏽‍♀️🏃‍♂️🏋🏼‍♂️🏋️‍♀️. . However it can be a brilliant whole body workout. ••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••Attempt a 10min Tabata style workout - short sharp and high intensity bursts are best with this kind of functional training. ••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••Battle ropes increases mobility of movement whilst providing the most effective way to train with minimal risk of injury as you are ultimately limited by your ‘own force production’, meaning your output is only as forceful as your body allows it to be. It also helps make ‘weaker body parts’ stronger ie your core, shoulders, grip, hips, ankles etc because each wave produced by the upper body causes a ‘chain reaction movement’ that utilises our body’s relationship with gravity; to produce higher force in the waves one must increase stability and endurance in the whole body to create the repetitive ‘wave like action’. ••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••• Personally I think it’s made a big difference to my upper body strength and grip. That's exactly how today's HIIT made me feel! Then I did it & I think maybe my heart stopped a few times 😂🤪 • MY TIP: Don't think about it❌ The more you do, the greater the chances you will talk yourself out of it. Find a way to commit to starting it and stay committed to the challenge of it 💯 REMEMBER - It is meant to be highly uncomfortable so it makes sense feeling reluctant about starting it (especially if you know you are truly going to give it everything. • HANDY TOOLS: Use an interval timer to force you into getting started. Even if you are reluctant, just set the time and go✅👊🏼 Once you get moving its easy to let go and just give it your all💪🏼 • -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Today was 1 set till failure followed by 12 sets of 20 sec on 10 sec off (Tabata style) of each of the 3 movements: • 1■ Parallel Bar Tuck jump > bear crawl (under parallel bar) > Truck Tyre Broad Jump > repeat • 2■ Ground Drop to Stand > Parallel Bar Hop-Over > Burpee Tuck Jump > Parallel Bar Hop-Over > Ground Drop to Stand > repeat • 3■ Parallel Bar Tuck jump > bear crawl (under parallel bar) > repeat • --------------------------------------------------------------------------------- • These are very intense when executed optimally, they were intimidating as hell for me for the planned volume BUT once I got started there was no way I wasn't going to commit everything to getting through it!💪🏼👊🏼😉😜 👍🏼🤙🏼✌🏼 💪🏼 #functionaltraining #movementismedicine #mobilitytraining #bodystrong #functionalmovement #strengthbuilding #movewell #movementgoals #movebetter #trainanywhere #mobilitywod #mobilityroutine #move2improve

Här är en #komboövning vi ofta körde i kampsporten när jag utöva det för några år sen 😊 Lika jobbig då som nu 😅 Typisk hatkärlek övning 😅 . . . ✔️ Lägg dig med tyngden på armarna och sug in naveln. (Går att ligga ner helt på ryggen men då gäller att kunna hålla nere hela ryggraden i backen hela tiden) . . . ✔️ Med raka ben börja pendla dem upp och ner samtidigt som du rör dom uppåt och vänd sedan nedåt. När du gjort 5 st där en är att jobba hela vägen upp och hela vägen ner, byt och börja saxa benen istället (som i slutet på videon) men fortsätt din rörelse upp och ner 5 till. . . . TÄNK PÅ att inte svanka! För att få övningen något lättare gå inte så långt ner utan jobba bara i små rörelser i överläget! . . . Trevlig helg 🌞
