🔺Over the past few weeks I’ve been working on improving my assessment process to make it more of an internal process not just an external one. By this I mean that the assessment is made to help the person become aware of how their body is organised both when standing still and when moving, not just by telling them what it looks like but teaching them how to feel these things and then tell me! By working from both ends I’ve noticed how much better the person can understand where their body is at and what it needs to move forward. The “how” and of course deeper levels of body awareness is where I can provide further teaching to a student. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ 🔺Body awareness work is in my opinion an extremely important aspect for improving your physical body, so I thought “why not start that process at the very first time a person comes in!” ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ 🔺The assessment looks at posture and its relation to foot pressures, movement in the joints, how well you breathe and how you are doing movements with regards to brain-body communication, coordination and organisation of your body. These tests will show how good fundamental movement and mobility skills you have. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ 🔺I’m excited to take more people through this process. If you’re interested to analyse where your body is at together with me, I’m offering my 75min assessment for 20% off when done by 30th of August. Sometimes we fail. But that’s okay because it just means that something is not quite right🤷🏻‍♀️. Whether that’s the weight you were using, the programme you’re on or you’re just having an off day. It’s how you respond to that which matters! If you give up, have a strop and walk away then you’ve really failed. If you make a conscious effort to find the solution to your problem, you’ve made progress. IS STATIC STRETCHING A WASTE?🤔 -- Honestly, I barely do it for myself and my clients... -- I'd much rather put my time into other things that I find to be much more effective. That is any kind of exercise that you have to actively be engaged in to get a result. -- In other words you just can't beat hard work.💪🏻💪🏻 -- BUT PNF or active stretching still has a place for me because it involves the above. -- You have to actively engage your muscles and brain to make the stretch worth it. This is great because it becomes an exercise. -- You're not only getting more range in a joint but you're also teaching your brain and body how to use the this new range you didn't have before. -- Think about how many times you've tretched out your hammies and then the next day they are tight again... your body forgets pretty easily things that require little effort to do. -- ☝️Key Tips: + Go deep into any stretch until you can't go furher. You've reached your end range. + Flex all the muscles your stretching this might mean pushing into or out of the stretch for 5 seconds + Relax go deeper into the stretch and repeat until 3 - 5 times. -- Want to return to the gym but injuries get in your way? FIX YOUR ADDUCTORS WITH THE MOST EFFECTIVE HIP MOBILITY EXERCISE ⠀⠀ So It has been a while since I’ve written a post thanks to all of my clients who bomb me with movement problems that we fix daily. ⠀⠀ Talking about Hip mobility and mobility in general a lot lately, I will share some of the useful tools and guidelines in future on this particular subject. ⠀⠀ ❓Which is the most limiting factor that causes poor hip mobility and pelvic control? ⠀⠀ 🆘Mainly three muscle groups: ⠀⠀ Adductors Hamstrings Hip flexors ⠀⠀ ❓How do we fix that? ⠀⠀ We have to realise that even though some of the self crowned fitness leaders will say that there is no single magic exercise to improve your problems with mobility, there are actually some single tools that can solve a BIGGER PROBLEM. ⠀⠀ ✅In the video ‘’Adductor Quadruped Rockback’’ mobility exercise that fixes major limiting factor in Hip mobility that Is Problem with STIFF and SHORTENED adductors. A big problem in general that does not get much attention and focus in mobility Routines, Personal training regimens and Injury treatment programs. ⠀⠀ ✅Some quick tips: ⠀⠀ - Keep your back straight (control the neutral pelvis position) ⠀⠀ - Spread your legs wide and rotate the kneeling leg outside ⠀⠀ - The extended leg should be in the position where you place your foot with toes up ⠀⠀ - Rockback slowly, control the position, gradually increase the Range of motion ⠀⠀ 🇬🇧Keeping some of the upcoming posts in English🇺🇸 #ipreview via @preview.app

I recently read (finally got around & listened to the audiobook of) the chimp paradox. I’ve got to say it was quite an interesting read (listen) and there’s definitely some gems in there.⁣ ⁣ One of which you need to know.⁣ ⁣ ‘Feed your chimp bananas’!⁣ ⁣ Now, I’m actually reading another book around a very similar topic & it’s referred to as resistance in this one. Both are taking a look at factors involved in achieving what you want & what makes it more difficult than it needs to be, and in both situations it’s essentially referring to yourself as being the biggest factor.⁣ ⁣ To ‘feed your chimp bananas’ means, make it easy on yourself. Reward yourself as opposed to punishing yourself. Give yourself breadcrumbs of victories until you reach the loaf (sorry for my s**t analogy!)⁣ ⁣ Build a positive relationship with your goal as opposed to a negative one. Don’t exclude the things you love, but include them. Manage them so they work in your favour, but allow yourself to enjoy whatever it is your doing. It’s the only way you’ll truly succeed.⁣ ⁣ Marti & I are just beginning a 12-week fat loss phase (we’re trialling some stuff out for my upcoming programme) and a big part of making this work is including the things we love, as well as some of the things we need (& maybe don’t love).⁣ ⁣ Find the balance and you’ll find your results.⁣ ⁣ I’ll keep you updated as things progress with this too.

* sorry but long post * - . so lately been asked why havan't i been posting updates about my training / pictures of what weight iv lost over past couple months ... - - simple answer is -- iv not been training , food wise been ok ish i spose ... won't lie tho enjoyed chilling out with family , having drink ( iv brewed ) and not having to worry about macros or anything ... - plus also working away doesn't help , and next month iv got boom town and moto gp - - - with all that being said once come back from silverstone end august i'm 100% getting back into training as i'm starting to feel Sluggish and don't like feeling like that as it reminds me of when i was at my biggest and trust me when i say i ain't never ever going back to that size again !!! - training plan will be based around upper body , mainly me moob's and delt's due to fact for being a " stocky / big " guy they are actually huge weak points of mine when comes to training .. plus also moob training bores me to death so be joining in on #internationalchestday a lot more lol .. and looking forward to going back to @fitness24gym 👌🏻 - cardio - hate to say this BUT i'm gonna go back to doing 60 min's cardio per session .. god help me ! - . remember people iv done this loads now so i know what works for me / my body .. but most importantly for me it's finding that balance between training and family etc still enjoying myself and if i want a burger n pint in pub i'm gonna do so ! . last part before i bore you to death .. i don't have any goals / targets at the moment BUT that may change over weeks / months to come... first 7/10 days is gonna kill me BUT i know once i'm back into for a while i'll be just fine 👌🏻👌🏻👌🏻 . . . . . . #fattyboomboom #slimjim #makingareturn #backtraining #findingthatbalance #balanceiskey #balanceiskeyinlife #gym #gymmotivation #gymfreaks #trainingmotivation #traininghard #mobilitytraining #weightlosstransformation #weightloss #weightlossmotivation #weightlossjourney #weighttraining #weighttrainingmotivation #ifwaseasyeveryonewoulddoit #weights #gym💪🏻 #fitnessmotivation #fitnesslife #fitnesstransformation
