It’s hard to describe the feeling of pure contentment I get from being outside. The simplicity. The ease. It helps solve so many problems, shifts mindsets, energises & allows time both to reflect & process as well as create & be inspired. I'm back ! 😊 🌎 After traveling 2 years to focus on myself (follow @theglobestopper if you want to see that part of my life) and develop my spirit, it's time to get back to have a routine and focus on my health after eating rice noodles for 2 years 😉. It was very hard to be on the road and keep up with a routine and as a lot of you know I was completely destroyed after my multiple operations 3 years ago. 👍 Now I'm able to train again with no pain so I'll focus on that for the time I'm back in Europe. The goal is to get a better health & posture after not training seriously for 3 years (yoga from time to time but I always put talking with my hosts first when I travel and I really didn't really focus on eating well and training well). I'll post tips and routines, road to one-arm handstand again in a few months ! yoga strengthens our bodies also works on our minds. you will feel the mental effects of a consistent yoga asana practice. These include learning the power of constancy, finding a willingness to try new things, dealing with failure followed by success (and then maybe failure again) Like a spinning wheel, but the wheel also advances and gives mental strength . Hearing students "excuses" or seeing despair, giving up. This moment is an important part of practice that includes the option of two paths that are always there. A path that sees resistance in awareness and may not continue with full power and motivation but still listening and continues to practice. The second path is a path that sees the resistance and gives the body and the mind a more comfortable place to sit or lie down and say it's not for me give me something else. We always have a choice, whether you brought yourself to a yoga class or signed up for one, you will know that it is a journey and perseverance not a body shaping class, it is just one of the benefits not the goal. Whenever I see myself practice on video, I have to laugh a little at how slow I am. Practicing to my last pose in Intermediate series (karandavasana) can easily take me 1.5 hours, sometimes even 2 if I’m being really indulgent/distracted. . When I was practicing Primary + bits of intermediate, I had my primary down to a snappy 1 hr to give me time for my project poses in Intermediate. This also helped build lots of tapas, the inner fire. Since splitting, I feel like I’ve lost my momentum a bit. My energy feels pretty low until I get to around Tittibhasana, which is at the end of my practice. . Has anyone else experienced this after splitting? Is it a natural part of the practice or a sign that I need to change something? Maybe throw in the odd full vinyasa, or just generally be quicker getting into/ out of postures? Less faffing?? 🤔🤔🤔 .
