The chakras are the seven major energy centers in the body in which our energy flows through. Blocked energy in our chakras can often lead to illness and dis-ease. In this 8 week series, we will guide you through a series of asanas (yoga postures) specific to the chakra we are focusing on and incorporate aromatherapy in the form of essential oils which correspond to balancing these energy centers. We will progress through the series from foundational postures in Week 1 to more challenging postures at the end of the series. New students, please start within the first few weeks of the series. Are you working toward your goals every day? 🤸🏼‍♀️Take breaks when you need them, but if there’s something you want you gotta keep at it! 😎 I was just getting super steady holding my handstands when I got pregnant, and I didn’t feel great going upside down, so between pregnancy and postpartum body changes I’ve taken more than a year off. 🤷‍♀️And it’s been such a beautiful reminder that my practice isn’t all about the tricks and fancy stuff. I truly loved slowing down and getting back to basics, and now I’m ready to play again! #FloatingYogaSchool

Grief comes in waves, similar to the ocean. Some days, the water is rough and it consumes you. Some days, the water is calm and it doesn't feel so heavy. There are moments when tears start falling, not for long, and then they just stop.. Almost as if you fear the letting go, the surrendering. There is a fear of the unknown - of not knowing what will happen if you fully surrender to the pain.. will the darkness consume you? When I was fishing out on the water on Saturday, there was a calmness that I felt being on the water. Moments where I felt free. The ocean is so large, and as I was staring out at the waves, I felt like there was enough space for the ocean to hold me, to contain my grief. At some point in time as I was staring out into the ocean, I shifted from feeling closed off to feeling safe to fully surrender... I remember thinking about how big the Universe is. How small I am, as part of the Universe. I was distracted and occupied as I was fishing. When the boat got back to the dock, I then got into the car. Out of nowhere and completely unexpectedly, I felt the urge to cry, and the tears came. This time, my tears did not stop. I buried my head in my loved ones arm as he was driving and I let go of what I was ready to release. My tears lasted longer than usual, and my breathing changed. Grief brings up so many feelings, that sometimes it's hard to identify how you feel. As I held onto my loved one and cried, I told him how much I loved him, and had fears as I noticed my thoughts about losing him... in any way. After losing a loved one, you think about how fast, how in the blink of an eye someone could be gone. You hold onto your loved ones more tightly. As it was unfolding, I didn't know that crying outburst was grief related. As I reflected back, I realized that it was. It made me feel fear around losing another loved one. So I held onto him tightly, confessed my love, and cried. It was a moment of surrendering. I felt open and vulnerable. Its goal is to integrate spirituality into the body through poses, breathing exercises and mantras. The Pilates method was born in World War II, created by Joseph Pilates for use in postural corrections acquired as a child. J. Pilates was a physical education teacher and expanded his method around the world. The goal of pilates beyond postural correction is flexibility, mobility and muscle strengthening. Yoga and Pilates have distinct philosophy, but both will undoubtedly help you to lead a quality life.
