What Makes the Difference Between People Who Succeed and Fail on the Keto Diet… (Link in the bio 👆) . { a fresh one-pan meal idea that combines all that fresh crisp Summer zucchini, with a tangy garlic tomato & basil pesto. Basically Summer in a pan! } makes about 3-4 servings 1 lb. shrimp, peeled and deveined 1 Tbsp olive oil, or avocado oil 1 fresh garlic clove, minced 2 large zucchinis, sliced 2 Tbsp sun-dried tomato pesto (recipe below) For The Sun-dried Tomato Pesto 3 fresh garlic cloves 1 cup fresh basil leaves, plus more to garnish 1 cup sun-dried tomato packed in olive oil 2-3 Tbsp water 1/4 cup fresh Parmesan cheese sea salt and fresh ground black pepper, to your taste Instructions: Add all the pesto ingredients in a food processor or high speed blender and process until smooth. Set aside. Heat oil in a large skillet over medium high heat. Add garlic and cook for 30 seconds until fragrant. Add zucchini and sauté for about 5 minutes. Add shrimp and cook until they are pink. Add in 2 Tbsps sun-dried tomato pesto and stir everything well to combine and warm. Garnish with additional fresh basil and enjoy! Store leftover pesto in an airtight container in the fridge for un to 10 days. . Fresh Lemony Shrimp + Avocado + Tomato Salad 🥑🌱🍋 = True Love ❤😍💘 { This SUPER FRESH tasting chopped salad has a good balance of protein and healthy fats to keep us satisfied for hours! Use mixed colors of cherry tomatoes if you can to give this a really beautiful touch! Think about doubling or tripling this salad recipe for your upcoming parties or get-togethers. You can prep your salad ahead, it stays well in the fridge for a few hours, and flavors actually combine and blend even better after a few hours. Your avocado should stay nice and green for a while if it's really coated in the lemon juice/oil mixture. . . makes about 3-4 servings Ingredients: 1 lb. raw shrimp, peeled and deveined 2 Tbsps olive or avocado oil, divided (I use avocado oil for cooking, and olive oil as the drizzle/dressing) 1-2 fresh garlic cloves, minced or pressed 2 large avocados, diced 8 oz. mixed cherry tomatoes, cut in half 1 green chili, seeded & sliced a good handful of fresh cilantro or flat-leaf parsley leaves, chopped 1 large fresh lemon, both juice and zest of sea salt and fresh ground black pepper Instructions: Heat one tablespoon of oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat. Add shrimp, and minced garlic, then cook for 3-4 minutes, or just until shrimp turns pink and is no longer translucent. Season shrimp with sea salt and pepper to taste, remove from heat. In a large bowl add cooked shrimp, chopped tomatoes, diced avocado, sliced chili, and chopped cilantro leaves. Drizzle with remaining 1 Tablespoon of oil and squeeze in your fresh lemon juice, add zest, then very gently toss to combine everything together. Adjust seasonings to your taste and enjoy! One pan dinner tonight 🤗 Easy roasted sweet potatoes + salmon + broccolini (getting fancy with the broccoli 😉) Anyone else sheet pan dinner fans?! 🙋🏼‍♀️ Who wants to do a bunch of unnecessary dishes, especially on a Friday night 😅 Luckily this meal is only one pan and easy clean up 💯 - - For the first year of my account, I feel like I posted chicken all the time and now the second year I’ve been posting salmon non stop 😅 It’s funny how your tastebuds change- someone messaged me and asked why I never post chicken anymore and it’s honestly just because I crave fish more 🤷🏼‍♀️ Who knows what I’ll be posting all the time in 6 months 😂 Eli and I are having an evening in- he’s studying nonstop the next few weeks with a big test week coming up but we’re planning on binging a few episodes of Parenthood 😎 It’s our latest show we’re obsessed with! We have the hardest time agreeing on shows 😅 Haha still trying to convince him Gossip Girl is a must watch 😉 Hope you all have a great Friday!! ❤️ - - #dinner details 👉🏻 Makes 3 servings. What you need: 3 sweet potatoes Olive oil 3 salmon fillets (about 1 lb) Package of broccoli I Lemon Garlic or garlic powder Pepper Preheat oven to 450. Slice sweet potatoes into cubes and coat with 1 tbsp olive oil. Spray pan with nonstick spray and add sweet potatoes and bake for 15 mins. While it bakes- get the salmon and broccolini ready. Sprinkle salmon with pepper and about 1/4-1/2 tsp garlic powder. Once the sweet potatoes are done, add the salmon and put back in the oven for 6 minutes. While the salmon cooks, cut the broccolini and coat with pepper, 1/2 tsp garlic powder, and 1 tbsp of olive oil. After the 6 mins- add the broccolini and cook for 4 more minutes Squeeze 1/2 a lemon over the salmon when done. Adding this to my blog tonight ❤️ #paleo #glutenfree #healthycooking

#Repost @yummy_keto_meals ・・・ Keto Enchiladas - INGREDIENTS 2 cups cheddar jack cheese, shredded 1 cup Parmesan cheese, shredded 2 cups cooked chicken, shredded 2 cups red enchilada sauce 2 tablespoons green enchilada sauce 1/2 cup sour cream 1/4 cup green onions, chopped 1 jalapeño, diced 2 tablespoons cilantro INSTRUCTIONS In a bowl, mix cheeses together. Heat a nonstick pan over medium heat. Add about 1/2 cup of cheese to the pan, sprinkling in a large circle. Cook until cheese is melted and bottom is golden brown. Remove from pan to cool enough to handle. Add chicken and 1 cup of enchilada sauce to a large bowl. Mix to coat the chicken. Place a spoonful of the chicken in the center of each cheese shell and roll. Top with red and green enchilada sauce. My current #guthealth bible right now 🙌🏼 I’ve had trouble sticking to one “protocol” in the past due to impatience, frustration and just wanting to see results already! ~~~~~ Dr. Ruscio does a great job of providing pros/cons of dietary choices (I.e high fiber vs low fiber, high carb vs low carb), and guides you in making a decision that works for your body. As with any protocol, you have to pay attention to what is or isn’t working for you. He advises that whatever change you make (diet changes, adding a probiotic, etc) should be tried out for a couple weeks. If something isn’t working (no changes in symptoms or if they worsen), don’t drive yourself crazy by doing a stricter diet or feel like you failed...you simply move on to the next part of the protocol. I also love that the protocol includes how to do a reintroduction of foods you may have had to temporarily avoid and also a weaning off of supplements. While I haven’t finished yet, I’ve seen some improvement with bloating so far. This is what is wrong with the intuitive eating and anti-diet movement. • An overweight individual can eat a diet consisting entirely of “healthy”, “unprocessed” and “wholefood” meals of a modest size and at an average frequency, yet very easily create a significant calorie surplus. • And if that calorie surplus sustains an excessive BMI and waist circumference, then that individual’s physical health is at risk. • By rejecting the concept of calorie regulation all together, the anti-diet movement create a false dichotomy between “healthy wholefood eating” and “dietary restriction”. • They ignore the fact that BOTH food quality AND calories matter for maintaining a healthy weight and thus for maximizing overall physical health. • Calorie restriction can be extremely hard for some, but that doesn’t mean we should pretend that for the overweight population, some form of calorie control isn’t ultimately necessary for long term weight loss and thus long term cardiometabolic health. • Forget about so called “anti-diet” practitioners and instead find a health professional that clearly acknowledges the central importance of calorie control for weight loss and therefore your overall physical health.
