Since the Weekend is just around the corner, no better time to post some simple tips to control your calorie intake this weekend. _ Whether it be socialising with friends or eating out with a loved one, following these easy tips will ensure you stay on track this weekend. _ 1️⃣ Pre plan, so many restaurant menus now have calories stated on them and even better yet there are 100’s already preloaded into MyFitnessPal (always look for the green tick) logging your calories early in the day allows you to see what calories you have to play with for the rest of the day. _ 2️⃣ Grilling food is the best way to be sure your food isn’t cooked in any extra unnecessary oil or fat. _ 3️⃣ Swap your high calorie chips for some low calorie vegetables and use the calories saved for that tasty dessert 🧁 _ 4️⃣ Asking for sauces on the side allows you to add your own and keep a track of what you’re adding. _ 5️⃣ Not only will the bread leave you feeling full before your main course comes out, but it’s also a lot of extra calories you don’t need to be eating. The Y-T-W hold has become one of my favourite exercises for improving posture as well as shoulder/scap stability. This exercise will help develop & strengthen your rhomboids, mid/low traps, posterior delts & teres minor/major which all play and important role in maintaining posture and supporting your upper back. Developing these muscles will help you achieve shoulder stability, scapular retraction and something as simple as getting your hands above your head through thoracic extension (upper region of the spine) instead of arching the lower back - drive chest into bench (thoracic extension) you should not feel anything In your lower back - shoulders back and down (no shrugging) - raise arms over head with thumbs facing behind you - by this point all the above mentioned muscles are now switched on. - avoid shrugging any movements - do not over retract - bring your arms out to a “T” - then into a “W” before extending the elbows (pressing) Hold each position for 2-3 secs, do 3 sets of 4 reps (1 Rep being a full circle) Weight is not needed for this exercise. This can be used as an activation exercise before lifting.
