Allow me to explain this one in more detail because this is actually a DEEP topic.... . Imagine you gain a new client who: ❌ Has been a classic ‘yoyo’ dieter ❌ Has never really made time for exercise as part of their regular weekly routine ❌ Has been overweight for the majority of their adult life ❌ Has some big weight loss goals they’d like to achieve . A person like this would need to MAKE some big changes in their lifestyle in order to SEE some big changes. . A mistake I made early on in my career is assume that all individual’s like this would be ‘ready’ to change and would be well up for just getting started and smashing their goals! WooHoo! . When I say ‘ready’ what I really mean is - are they mentally prepared to do what it required and make those big lifestyle changes? . Because the truth is a lot of them won’t be! . The harsh reality is a lot of people say that want to achieve something but are not actually prepared (ready) to do what it takes to achieve them. . Either because.... . They don’t want it enough and are too comfortable i.e. the thought of being successful isn’t motivating and exciting enough (PLEASURE) . OR.... . They are not in enough PAIN to change i.e. they might not like what they see in the mirror but it’s not that painful to see, they just settle for it. . As I have said before... . Pleasure and pain are what drives us to take the necessary actions required to achieve our goals. . And if they are not ready to take those actions, they simply will not be successful. . #TheFitProMentor

Scaled option A; 800m run 1000m row 800m run 50 burpees . Scaled option B; 1 or 2 rounds (2-3 min rest in between rounds) 400m run 500m row 400m run 25 burpees . Never underestimate the power of endorphins!⁣⁣ ⁣⁣ ⭐️It’s well known that exercise helps with mental health. Endorphins (sometimes called ‘Feel good hormones’) are a real thing and lift your mood like pretty much nothing else you can obtain legally. .⁣⁣ ⁣⁣ ⭐️Endorphins trigger positive feelings in the body, calm anxiety and lift your mood. Not only this, they can also act as sedatives, which is why exercise can help you if you struggle to sleep.⠀⁣⁣ ⁣⁣ ⭐️The intensity of our workouts mean there’s no room in your mind to stress about anything else. It’s kind of mindful, in a way. .⁣⁣ ⁣⁣ ⭐️You just focus on the next rep and nothing else matters for the time being. “Just keep chipping away”⁣ ⁣ This is something Coach @parrwod says all the time in workouts.⁣ ⁣ In actual fact, it’s massively helpful. When coach announces that you’re half-way through a workout, it can feel like you won’t possibly make it through to the end. ⁣ ⁣ But actually, all you need to focus on is small steps, one rep at a time… keep chipping away. ⠀⁣ ⁣ This logic can apply to our lives outside of the gym, too. ⁣ ⁣ Life can seem overwhelming. ⁣ ⁣ When your task list is long and your stress levels are high, the end goal can feel out of reach. ⁣ ⁣ The same goes for big goals… if you’re trying to lose weight or working towards a heavy lift, the end result can seem impossibly far away and even unachievable.⠀⁣ ⁣ But actually, all you need to do is keep chipping away. One step/task/rep/meal (or whatever) at a time. Progress is progress, however slow and however small. Keep going. Now I don’t mean to be negative... . My intention here isn’t to be disrespectful. . But I’m always real and give you the truth! . Over 10 years ago when I qualified, it was definitely more of a challenge to become a certified PT. . PremierGlobal are by far the best training provider that actually has great content for their students (NASM OPT model, which I also studied) and their timeframe they recommend someone progresses through their online course is 3 months, but I assume the average is more like 5-6 months. . The truth is many other training providers run 4 week 9-5 ‘fast track’ courses. Fill those rooms with 15-25 people and have 3-4 tutors running separate courses every month. . Why did they change it to this? . MONEY! . This is one of the reasons many PT’s fail & quit after only spending 3-6 months in the job. . A lot of them simply are not ready! . Does that mean they all fail? . No. . But it does mean a lot of them do. . This is one of reasons why I decided to try and do my bit to help this issue. . So for you new PT’s that have recently started following me.... . Commit to learning even more about exercise and nutrition, work on your business skills, don’t let setbacks stop you and keep grafting for what you want. . #TheFitProMentor

When clients of mine wasn’t getting results and wasn’t following any of my advice (back in the very early days of this mental career I’ve had) . It baffled the hell out of me. . Here’s what I learned the hard way..... . 1 - You can only help a client achieve a great outcome if they are willing to help themselves. . And 2 - PT isn’t just about delivering a 1 hour session on a weekly basis and nothing more. . So how can a client with a goal of wanting to lose weight help them self? . By committing to their PT sessions.... being willing to get to the gym on their own.... reduce their calorie intake.... and for some people - make some HUGE lifestyle changes. . And more importantly, what can YOU do to help them? . Deliver an epic session every damn time....plan the workouts for them that you want them to do on their own....send them a message or two during the week to check in... . Providing that you tick all the boxes and they tick all the boxes, that’s what results in amazing progress! . If you want to fill your personal training website or social media page with bundles of amazing before & after photos and testimonials, you are going to have to focus on doing whatever you can that will help them outside of the session, not just in the 1 or 2 hours they see you each week. . #TheFitProMentor

Don’t get your hopes up - you’re not gonna get a phone call and gain a new client because he/she found your business card on the cross trainer! In fact I’m gonna do a video on this topic soon. . 2️⃣ Leaflets for the same reason! 👆🏻 . 3️⃣ Once in a while (a long while) you may be lucky and someone may approach you and ask about starting some PT sessions with you.
