Muscle imbalances, caused by a difference in strength between one side of the body and the other, are very common in the world of sport. For example, movements used in sports such as tennis or golf cause one side of the body to develop more than the other, leading to imbalances. This also happens during work in the gym, because at times when more strength or intensity is required, the athlete rests on this dominant side. And even if you don't practice sport, everyday actions such as crossing one leg over another or sleeping only on one side can cause imbalances. Neglecting these muscular imbalances can cause problems in the athlete's health such as postural problems and injuries caused by an over-exertion of the dominant side. The goal of physiotherapeutic work is to find the main cause of the imbalance and to work on unilateral exercises that isolate the dominant side of the body to prevent it from taking control of the exercise. During these exercises you will also work on flexiety with dynamic warm-ups and stretching that improve the range of motion of the weak side of the body. #physio #fisioterapia #liberacaomiofascial #fisio #fisioterapeuta #muscles #fisioterapiaesportiva #musclereeducation #fisioterapiadesportiva #uae #exercise #muscle #sportsmassage #physiotherapy #gym #wellness #physicaltherapy

#Repost @p.t.pete ・・・ 🔥THE BEST LEG EXERCISES -- Let me know below which ones your favourite👇 - Follow @P.T.Pete for daily fitness/nutrition tips & education📚 - On leg day, it seems to become a popular thing to make quads a priority because that the part of the leg that gets shown off the most. So when it comes to hamstrings, glutes and calves, they're completely left in the dust. - For a solid approach to leg day, take this post into account. Pick 1-2 exercises from each part, and from there choose your sets and reps. If you want the workout to be strength based, work in the 3-8 rep range. If you want your workout to be hypertrophy based, work in the 8-20 rep range. - It's important that when you train legs you try to hit everything. Don't just obliterate the quads. Spreading out your exercises for the WHOLE leg is the best approach for growth. - What's your favorite leg exercise?

Week 3 #PilatesRocks 🤘🤘🤘🤘🤘Today’s move: Quadruped Lateral Rocking🤘🤘🤘🤘🤘 Whether on a #physioball or the #PilatesArc , your emphasis is on lateral stability and thoracic mobility. 🤘First, mobilize your thoracic spine into rotation while keeping knees equally weighted into floor as you press into one forearm creating the rocking motion. 📌Note: your shoulder and ipsilateral hip move opposite each other.📌Be sure to control the distance you rotate so as not to flop off the side! 🤘Second, now stabilize the spine and create a pivot type motion at the planted-side shoulder and hip. 📌This time the ipsilateral shoulder & hip should stay level with each other. 🤘🤘🤘🤘🤘 Thanks again for rocking with us! Next week is the finale and a true favorite! . . . . . #pilates #pilatesinstructor #physio #karenspilatesplace #pilatesplaceyyc #encorepilatesgnv #arc #therapyball #core #igfitness #thoracicspine #thoracicmobility #spinalstability #quadruped #homeexercises #matpilates

A Karina é uma excelente profissional e sempre me incentiva a dar o meu melhor. 📌 Lofty Sport | R. 💪🏻*𝐁𝐔𝐈𝐋𝐃-𝐀-𝐓𝐑𝐈𝐂𝐄𝐏*💪🏻....Tag a friend that wants bigger arms! - Follow @gym.gemz for daily fitness/nutrition tips and education📚 - First off let's give you some info on how the tricep is broken down, there's three parts to the tricep, hence "tri". There's the medial head, which is very small and lies beneath the long head), the larger portion of the horseshoe the long head and finally the lateral head, the other larger portion that wraps around the arm. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ So if you are incorporating a few push movements in your routine, especially the compounds, you are probably already included some tricep stimulation in the first place but if you want to focus on a certain part of the tricep then you can give these exercises a go. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ Some individuals have difficulty with getting the mind and muscle connection on perhaps the lagging part of their tricep, so if you have a lagging area try thinking of it as a leg extension to where if you turn inwards on the movement you are going to be more focused on the lateral tricep and if you turn your hands outward it's going to focus more on the medial tricep. The long head will be overhead movements of the tricep exercise. There is one other exercise that I did not include on here just because I don't favor and it's the skull crusher exercise, this is also more focused on the long head but several individuals have a tough time in the execution of the movement including myself so I no longer incorporate it due to elbow pains in the past. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ Hope that helps! ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ Great post hy @skiman.factual.fitness - . . . . #triceps #tricep #tricepsworkout #musclebuilding #workouttips #armworkout #yoga #fitness #mobilitywod #flexibility #physicaltherapy #yogi #bodybuilding #weekendyoga #deadlift #squat #hypertrophy #legday #workout #yogaformen #physio #irishfitfam #idoportal #stretch #myodetox #movement #mobility #stretching #yogafit #iifym

artemisphysicaltherapy. How do you 🎈BLOW?
Cheeks out? or Cheeks in?

How you blow out actua

How do you 🎈BLOW? Cheeks out? or Cheeks in? How you blow out actually tells me a lot about how well you can control your pressure system. If your cheeks are out (first picture) this tells me I may need to look somewhere down the chain for a possible "weak link". Here is what should happen when you blow up the Alligator 🐊 floaty (for the 12 time) 🎈Pelvic floor tightens closes and lifts 🎈Diaphragm relaxes and lifts 🎈Abdominal and Back muscles tighten to to keep the pressure in the abdominal cavity moving upward 🎈Ribs move down 🎈Throat tightens 🎈Cheeks tighten 🎈Air is forces out of lungs with no leaks in the system Mismanagement in this process may lead to back pain, neck pain, jaw pain, foot pain, pelvic floor issues and even those tight pinchy hip flexors! Try it- inflate a balloon or floaty. How do you blow? Let me know in the comments. Questions? Shoot me a DM.
