🌟FOAM ROLLER VARIATION 1🌟 ....feels 😊 It’s nearly the week end 😃 By Thursday, you’re probably in need of a nice stretch to open up the front line of the body and anterior shoulders, especially if you’re someone who does a lot of seated desk work, heavy lifting or for us massage therapists! Any job that brings are shoulders forward a lot and makes us dominant in our anterior chain.......so, probably the majority 😉 * * I have started sat up in my knees which I know for some can be a challenge itself. 🤔 If so, put a rolled up towel or small block between your bum and heels to reduce amount of knee flexion. 🌟Hands on top of the foam roller, gradually roll it away from you as you tuck your chin in and roll-down and forwards through your spine, as far as comfortable for you. Be careful, as for some, this might create a slight impingement in the front of the shoulder so be gentle! Open your arms slightly wider if so and don’t go as far as I have here. 🌟take a couple of nice deep breaths once you are down in the stretch before exhaling and rolling back up through the spine. 🌟make sure on the return phase you draw your belly in towards your spine so we crest a lovely flexed spine and c- shape curve, keeping the head relaxed forwards which will add extra ‘juicyness’ to the stretch! 🌟 Repeat slowly 3-4 times. * * Enjoy! * * #pectoralstretch #shoulderstretch #foamroller #foamrollerstretching #mobilityoftheday #spinemobility #stretching #dynamicstretching #passivestretching #activestretching #matpilates #matpilatesclass #pilatesinstructor #cumbria #thelakedistrict #ulverston

PARENTING 🙋🏻‍♀️ @pilatesbynatasha #summertime #patience .. .. Spending nearly 2 months with my 2 children daily this past summer has tested my patience, creativity and loyalty to my word. “Yes, I promise we can go to the skatepark again tonight.....😳😴🛹.” Our kids are a mere response to our moods and behaviours. Finding an outlet such as a Pilates or Yoga class to help channel our energy and keep it all Balanced Within is critical. Adding a simple meditation practice to our daily routine gives us the tools to refrain from reacting in response from being tired, frustrated and hitting our limits. In a child’s eyes, all they have to believe in kindness, integrity and loyalty is the example demonstrated to them by their parents. Reminder to self! TRAINING & TRAVEL 🏋🏼‍♀️🌎 - I currently am 1 week in to a months trip in Europe and It is the first time I have done a workout whilst being over here. I know a lot of people freak out by travelling and thinking they’re going to ruin all of their hard work which is why I wanted to give a few little tips I’ve learnt along the way. - 1. DONT restrict yourself to being on a “diet” while you travel, however be self aware and smart of the choices you make. Example: If you want pizza for dinner by all means eat the pizza for dinner, however you may want to be a little more aware and make better choices for all of the other meals you eat throughout the day.. create balance. 2. Walk everywhere! It encourages exercise without even having to think about it. I think most days I’ve been here my steps have been up around 30,000 and I am absolutely buggered. 3. If you want to do a work out and don’t know where or what to do, a park bench is amazing you can do a whole workout that will get your heart rate up just using a bench. 4. Stay hydrated as much as possible, as your walking in the sun and sweating your body needs the hydration to replenish the body. 5. ENJOY YOURSELF FOR GOD SAKES!
