Chickpeas are life 😍 These chickpeas took around 3-4 minutes to make. I just heated them up on a pan and added a little @jargoods and mixed until the sauce has thickened and warmed through. Served with steamed broccoli 🥦 (clearly my fav veggie) and some pearled couscous. The perfect meal after a semi-busy morning. Hope you’re all having a good Tuesday!

В Москве сейчас всего 3 часа дня, а в Ханты-Мансийске время уже переползло 5 вечера. Спросите, с какой стати я вдруг пишу про время в Ханты-Мансийске? Внезапно я нахожусь сейчас именно тут. У меня случилась (и продолжает случаться прямо сейчас) первая в моей жизни по-настоящему далекая выездная съемка. Мне несколько раз писали запросы на съемки в другие города - Самару, например, Владивосток и даже Сахалин, но ни разу ещё не срасталось. И при очередном запросе на дальнюю съемку я, честно говоря, уверена была, что, как и в прошлые разы, до дела не дойдёт. Однако ж нет! Дошло, и ещё как. И вот я в морозном Ханты-Мансийске, второй день подряд снимаю меню для ресторана Кинза, о деталях и нюансах расскажу позже, если вам конечно будет интересно 🙂 А на фото чудесные букеты от Дарьи @watdafruit, которые я снимала на прошлой неделе. Это была очень, очень комфортная съемка! За 3 часа мы отсняли 8 таких невероятных букетов с деталями и крупными планами, и результатом остались довольны обе 🙂

Today was a no-cook day. I spent the morning (after an entirely sleepless night) at the ER getting my tonsillitis looked after. I couldn’t even eat anything since lunch yesterday, due to the swelling and pain. Speaking and drinking were barely possible too! Anyhow, I walked out feeling better already (the meds they have on hand there will do that for you! 😄) and decided to walk home instead of catching a cab on this beautifully sunny day. My way led me past one of my favorite lunch spots downtown - a lovingly family run, unpretentious, Mediterranean/Middle Eastern restaurant. All the fancy places around can take a hike, haha! This is food where you taste the love and care that goes into it. I had a my usual - a vegan falafel wrap and lentil soup. Love the warming flavors of the soup, especially the hint of cinnamon. Dinner was a few slices of slow-fermented, organic sourdough bread from a new bakery in town (I’ll be raving at length about them soon!) with “shaved“ (for the thin deli-slice mouthfeel), smoked tofu and Earth Island “Provolone” fake cheese slices. And a handful of hazelnuts and sprouted walnuts. I guess where I am going with@this is: if you spend some time researching and figuring out your favorites, it’s dead easy to vote with your dollars and support the little, good guys even when you need food on the go or are too lazy (or sick) to cook. [forgot to photogenically unwrap, and decoratively take a bite of my falafel wrap! The lovely @recovery_herbs asked me to make a lentil soup a few weeks ago, and it’s all I’ve been thinking about, so I finally made it! It’s not authentic, but it is still super delicious! What I love about soups is that you can just throw in whatever leftover veggies you have and it will turn out great. What do you like to add to your soups? * * Lentil Soup: 1/2 cup green lentils soaked for a few hours 1/2 finely chopped onion 2 minced garlic cloves 2 diced mushrooms 1/2 tsp ginger powder, 1/2 tsp dried oregano, 1/2 tsp dried rosemary, crack of black pepper 1 diced carrot 1/4 diced bell pepper Few sliced asparagus stalks 4 dl boiling water mixed with 1 @helios.no Umami Stock Cube Salt Lemon juice Hemp seeds ~Fry the onion until translucent ~Add the garlic, mushrooms and spices and fry until fragrant ~Add the rest of the veggies and lentils and cover with the broth ~Bring to a boil, then reduce to a simmer ~Cover the pot and let it cook until lentils are cooked, about 20-25 minutes {longer if you did not soak them} ~Once the lentils are done season with salt amd lemon juice, then serve with some hemp seeds and dig in. Whenever you’re self conscious you’re simply showing that you’re not concerned of the self at all. You don’t know who you are. If you had known then there would have been no problem - then you’re not seeking opinions. Then you’re not worried what others say about you - it’s irrelevant. In fact, nobody ever says anything about you - whenever people say something about you, they’re actually saying it about themselves. One day I was in Jairpur and a man came in the morning to see me, and he said “You’re divine” I said, “You’re right”. He was sitting there and another mam came and he was very much against me, and then he said, “ You’re almost devilish.” I said, “You’re right!” The first man became a little worried. He said, “What do you mean? You told me also, ‘ You’re right’ and you say to this man also, ‘You’re right- we can’t be both right.” I told him, “Not only two-millions of people can be right about me, because whatever they say about me they say about themselves. How can they know me?It’s impossible- they have not even known themselves yet. Whatsoever they say it’s their interpretation.” So the mam said: Then who are you? If this is my interpretation that you’re divine, and this os his interpretation that you’re evil, then who are you?” I said, “ I am just myself, I have no interpretation about myself, and there is no need. I am simply delighted in being myself, whatsoever that means. I am happy in being myself. Nobody can say anything about you, whatsoever they say is about themselves. But you become very shaky, because you’re still clinging to a false centre. The false center depends on others, so you’re always looking to what people are saying about you. And you’re always following other people, so you’re always trying to satisfy them. You’re are trying to be respectable, and you’re always trying to decorate your ego. This is suicidal.
