Procrasti-baking 🥕🍍 . Spending the afternoon baking instead of doing all the other things on my to-do list 😂😂 I recently bought some of the @sneaky_wholefoods bake mixes by @betterbeingsteph and I made the carrot pineapple spice mix into a baked slice. . They are so quick and easy to make and I can confirm they are bloody delicious! Morning Motivation : The world is obsessed with finding the shortcut, quickfix or magic solution to everything one wants to experience, achieve or have. Sorry to burst your bubble but there is none. When you’re putting your time and energy into finding this shortcut, quickfix or magic solution you’re guaranteeing you’ll be constantly distracted and won’t ever turn your dreams into reality. Success is about consistency. Success is experienced by desire, determination and a willingness to overcome all challenges and obstacles. The journey, while fulfilling, will test you to your core. However once you take positive progressive steps daily or at least regularly you’ll get to your destination. It doesn’t matter how tiny the steps may be - you will get closer to your desired destination in taking them. So forget the lazy search for giant leaps. Be consistent. Be focused. Be determined. It's challenging to walk your path when there's nothing concrete to hold on to. When all you have is the inner knowing that this is what you're meant to be doing, even though there are no tangible results to be seen yet. When all you have is the inner guidance leading you toward something that hasn't been done yet. And it has nothing to do with arrogance or self serving intentions. It's about being loyal to yourself. It's about finding your higher purpose for being here now. It's about following through with what you know is true for you. Because the path of self discovery is paving the way for self mastery. When you are truly aligned with your authentic being that is then reflected into the external world. When you finally understand why you had to experience your traumas and heal the resulting painful emotional wounds. Why you had to go through devastating loneliness and excruciating feelings of abandonment and unworthiness. Why you had to go through the process of discarding old layers of beliefs, thoughts, stories, identities that no longer represent your true self. The reason to go through this painful baggage is to forgive, as you come to see all past decisions, experiences, mistakes from a new perspective. Everything happened for a reason you can now understand. Everything had a valuable lesson for you. Everything happened so that you could find yourself again. So that you could find your inner strength and truth. So that you could fulfill your mission of being of service for the greatest good of all. The power to make this world a better place for all is deeply ingrained in all of us, and it's now time to uncover it and put it to practice. Taking good care of our physical vessel is also very important. Being mindful of what foods we choose to eat greatly effects our body's resilience. By choosing whole plant foods we not only invest in our long term health, but we also cause much less harm to the environment and don't pay for unnecessary exploitation and suffering of sentient beings. I made an open sandwich with sautéed chard, grilled zucchini and mushrooms, fresh tomatoes and parsely, and a tahini dressing with soy sauce and yoghurt.

Heuristics are mental shortcuts. We develop them to make processing things that we see easier. For example, Availability heuristics mean that when we see something that looks like something we have seen so many times before, it's easy to grab that judgement and label and apply it to current circumstances. It's natural, everyone does it. But in my opinion these mental shortcuts put us in the dangerous position of being lazy with our thoughts and judgements. We see someone who is acting quiet or aloof and apply our heuristics and decide this person doesnt like us or is just rude. We see someone who is angry and frustrated and label them as that and steer clear. This means we miss opportunities to see beyond the behaviour. Our mission is to step back and directly challenge ourselves. Notice your thoughts and offer a different point of view, one that is not solely focused on your own ego. What if that angry person is actually sad, depressed or has completely run out of hope, but we have dismissed them. What if that person being rude to us is terribly insecure and hates themselves and wakes up every morning wishing to be someone, ANYONE else. If you see a change in your friends behaviour stop and challenge your immediate thoughts. And maybe ask them if they are okay or if you can help. It might be the kindess they have desperately been waiting for. Love xx

There are so many restaurants offering vegan and gluten free options in South Africa. One of my favorites is @colcacchio, because their menu is so versatile and you can customize almost any meal you want. It can sometimes be on the expensive side, but they often have deals like buy one get one free pizza on a Tuesday, so if you keep an eye out, it can be worth it. The only down side is that the gf pizza base is very thin and tends to get overcooked (see burnt edges), but it’s still delicious🥦🍕
