Shoulder press, military press, and bench press all have something in common, they all require smooth scapular motion to allow your shoulder to push. . The mistake many people make when pressing overhead, is over-locking down their shoulder blades through the range. When lifting overhead, the shoulder needs smooth upward and outward rotation of the shoulder blades. Therefore, locking the blades down may inhibit the normal movement of the blades. . Try this “High-to-Low Row” exercise in a half kneeling position. . This exercise teaches you how to control through your shoulder blades as the weight of the cable tries to drag your arm out in an overhead direction. . Choose a light weight to start, get the technique right, and begin to move heavy enough to maintain correct form. Second year in a row making the world team against the stiffest of competition! Was a bit of a tough year getting through a freak contact injury this season (300 lb wrestler slammed on him from the side), but Kyle came back as a greater athlete on all fronts. The improvements of his physical strength, speed, quickness, agility and cardio were definitely evident this last weekend. Great to see it all come together. . . We got over some obstacles, but many more still exist that need to be addressed. We are just getting started. Fortunately, Kyle continues to make this as effortless of a process as a person can make it. He is the lowest maintenance personality I have yet to meet, and it's no wonder why he was already the best in the world before ever coming to FP. . . I want Kyle to have the most decorated career the sport of wrestling has ever seen. We have documented our goals moving forward and have every intent to reach those goals. 💥💥💥Medial Foot Pain💥💥💥 . Pain on the inside of your foot?😫 Could it be your tibialis posterior that is the issue?🤔 Whats that you ask? . Tibialis Posterior attaches to navicular bone, cuneiform, cuboid, 2-4 metatarsals🤓 basically it attaches to a lot of bones in the foot👣 meaning if it is dysfunctional, it can be a disaster 👎 . So what is its role? It supports the arch, plantar flexes and inverts foot. Its very much involved in deceleration in running and springing off again as it facilitates in push off🏃‍♂️ . So what happens if we take these functions away?🧙‍♂️ If it becomes stretched, irritated, overused, especially high impact sports eg basketball🏀 tennis 🎾, or lead to trauma, the dysfunction can lead to over pronation, flat foot and medial ankle pain. . Studies suggest that progressive exercises can help decrease pain and improve function in the early stages of tendinopathy🏋️‍♂️. Den almene dansker sidder typisk krøllet lidt sammen foran computeren på arbejdet, som er den komplet modsatte position af arch 🐒 Forestil dig at bevæge dig langt ud i en position hvor din krop (på nuværende tidspunkt) ikke lever op til de krav positionen kræver. Its okay to be weird... for the sake of gainz. . Everyone is different. Therefore, modifying exercises is necessary. . For me, I'm weak through my mid-back and struggle to develop those muscles. . This exercise, among others, actually get the job done. So, I do them. Despite the weird looks. . You should too. It doesn't matter what modifications are needed, if it helps you get more from the exercise. . I typically use the 'most common' form or position as a starting point. Then modify from there. . If you're doing a lat based exercise, you should feel your lats working. Same goes for glutes, and rhomboids, and on and on. . Step one ➡️ perform the exercise. Not doing what it should? . Step two ➡️ release work. Make sure things are moving well. . Step three ➡️ try the exercise again. Better? Great! Still not working? . Step four ➡️ make modifications. . ℹ️ Foam rolling is a fantastic way to help with tight and tender muscles, but did you know that it can actually reduce your risk of injury? Restrictions in movement can stem from tight muscles and this can lead to instability - especially at the ankle, as the joint may not be able to move as well as it needs to. ⠀ ⠀ Try this: ⠀ ➡️ 2-4 rounds of 15-40 second rolling your calfs, depending on the level of sensitivity ⠀ ➡️ Target the sides of the calfs too, and flex your foot backwards and forwards also ⠀ ➡️ You can also try pausing on a particularly tender spot and flexing your foot back and forth before rolling it through again ⠀ ➡️ Finish off with a static calf stretch, both straight legged and with a bent knee ⠀ ➡️ Add calf foam rolling into your weekly rolling routine, but don’t overdo it - stretching and foam rolling combined is a great way to avoid over-working an area as this can lead to soreness. ⠀ ⠀ (Link in bio) ⠀ ⠀ #sportstherapy #rehab #prehab #injuryclinic #biggleswade
