Client of the month goes to KBPT trainer Lotta's client Eilis. Eilis has been training with KBPT since Sept 2018 and wanted help to get her fitness back on track with a long term plan that felt achievable. Six months later we are very pleased to be giving Eilis client of the month for the hard work and progress she has made. Eilis can do 5 times the amount of sit ups she could when she first started! She can hold the plank for longer, do more burpees in a minute and has improved her upper body strength vastly! Lotta describes Eilis as "determind" and "consistent". She never misses her PT sessions and has also added weekly runs into her fitness routine. As well as Eilis's fitness increasing all of her measurements are decreasing which was another one of her goals. Here is Eilis with her favourite piece of kit - a kettlebell. So, yesterday was my business anniversary. I’ve celebrated with a post on this day (well yesterday 😂) ever year. And although I’ve missed it by a day, and was initially annoyed with myself, I’m choosing instead to see the positive of that. I’m busy, work is great, I love what I do and so I forgot. Simple as that. But now I have remembered, and to mark it, this photo, the first website and marketing work I ever did (Don’t even have my Chameleon branded shirts!) The flag was actually a surprise gift from my husband to help me on my way. His idea completely. A gesture so typical of him. He couldn’t have been more supportive of what was quite a big change, for both of us. So today, on my anniversary, I’m remembering and saying a big thank you to everyone who has given their support: From family and friends to valued colleagues and associates. Their advice, guidance, encouragement has been a much valued cornerstone of the business, helping me to grow, experiment and explore knowing that they will always be there for me. I’m often caught up in conversations about training. Well, obviously. The most recent one was about motivation. Or lack of it. And then feeling bad and stressed for not ‘forcing’ yourself to go and train. Thinking you’ve lost all your strength, all the progress and you’ll just never get back into it. So here’s my question: What’s gonna happen if you miss a session? Or a week of training? Like really, what is the worst thing that will happen? And how does the thought of that make you feel? Whatever your reasons for not making it to the gym or your favourite class may be just please don’t feel bad about it and don’t let it stress you out. There’s already so many things that cause us stress and training (or not training for that matter) shouldn’t be one of them. Your body’s telling you something and the only thing you should really do is learn to listen. Take a break, go for a walk, watch Netflix or bake your favourite cookies. Taking one step back usually means making two steps forward. Do whatever you need to do that’s gonna make you feel good on the inside. You would be forgiven for thinking it is pilates as the machine was born out of the original reformer but since it’s conception in 2001 the machine has changed numerous times alongside the workout! It is categorically NOT pilates!! Combining cardio, core, balance, flexibility, endurance and the development of large and small muscles it ticks all the boxes!!
