🤔 Have a hard time understanding the hip joint? I get that! It’s a joint with a ton going on. Plus some of the hip movements can be a little tricky. __ 🤓 So, I put together a few resources to try and clear up that confusion for you. __ 1️⃣ up is a video of me demonstrating each motion. Keep an eye 👀 on internal and external rotation at the end - many people want to automatically follow what the foot does but that isn’t 🙅‍♂️ an accurate representation of what’s happening at the hip. __ 2️⃣ is a summary sheet of those motions __ 3️⃣ is a chart covering approximately how much range of motion the average person should have going each direction. It’s 💥super important💥 to note not everyone will have or physically be able to have the listed amounts. This is because our hip anatomy varies a bunch - I’m dropping videos 🎥 expanding on that soon. __ 4️⃣ is a chart listing the muscles that work to perform each hip motion. Not all of them contribute equally as some are larger 💪 and smaller than others - it’s just a list of everything that plays some role. __ 📌 Hopefully this all makes things a little less confusing! __ 👫 Have a friend who would benefit from this? Whether your building muscle or losing fat, the basic principles of a programme will be the same. These Compound exercises work multiple muscle groups and involvement movement at more than 1 joint, these should be prioritised when training. These five movements will work your entire body, whether you do them all in one session will depend on your weekly program, but ideally you will do each exercise 2-3 times per week. These are the five lifts you'll be able to increase the weight the quickest, causing more stress on your muscles and encouraging increased size and strength. Depending on your goals, rep ranges and set numbers will vary, but just by including these moves you're already on to a winner! Work Hard & Be Consistent!
