Feeling rejuvenated today! Trained @1formergeezer, got a great leg day in myself, then circled back up with boss man to plan our future successes. 👯 Week 1 of #tightertogether is done! 👯 . I decided to participate in Tighter Together because I needed a little "kick in the pants" to re-motivate myself. I figured a quick, 30 day challenge would do the job, and boy was I right! . Well that's another day done. Today was weird as although my alarm went off at the usual 4.45am it wasn't for the gym but to get ready for a work meeting which I had to travel 70miles for. I got back home around 2pm and hit the gym then, the body felt more tired than it normally would at 6am... It was a back and shoulders day. So today was chest day and last night I decided I would go for a few new PBs on flat BB Bench press as I wanted to get back to where i was 9months ago and build for the future sessions. Hence the green superman T-shirt. Needed a superman kinda day! I don't usually post weights I lift but for today I will as I'm very happy but theres more to come in the next month. Flat BB bench press 6 sets increasing weight until set6 where I dropped it to push chest to failure. 70kgx10 75kgx8 (video) 80kgx6 85kgx4 (the weight I was lifting 9months ago) 90kgx2(new PB) 60kgx12 failure Although I built it up slowly and kept reps to minimal I have to say it felt great getting back to normal weight and pushing for the 90kg solo. Have never been able to get 90 back up until today. 2018. A year that felt like a rollercoast

2 weeks late but here we go 2018. A year that felt like a rollercoaster for sure. I started off so motivated and determined. I was like 11 lbs away from my goal weight. Was planning on competing in a few bouts. I had things where I wanted them. But somewhere along the way my motivation halted and I never truly got it back. I started indulging more and half assing my way through workouts. I lost a lot of the self discipline I worked so hard for the previous 3 years. I didn't hold myself accountable and honestly I could tell I wasn't happy with who I was starting to become. 2019 is about that. Reminding myself where I started and figuring out "what's my why". Cause last year I lost that. I started drinking way more than I ever had. I wasn't ever happy about anyting. I lost my "why" and I could feel myself losing my smile. 2019 is about cutting out the negative. Whether it's people, mentality or vices. There's no room in my life for negativity and refuse to surround myself with it. Positive vibes only. I'm not going to have a repeat of 2018. I've taken leaps and bounds from where I started but i have definitely taken a huge step back from where I was. But this is the year the train gets back on track. This year I surround myself with people who will only continue to build each other up. And I'm going to find my why again. It'll take time. But 2019 can be my fresh start. This year I start from the beginning again. The last time I stepped on the scale it said 238. No workout vid or photos today as it wasn't one of those morning. As usual 4.45am alarm and gym for 6am but I wasn't 100% this morning, I think the long days are catching up on me but here's to another week of earlies and hopefully the body will adapt. I was even that tired last night I forgot to upload the pressup challenge although I did do them so will up load them later with today's. Today's session was arms. I was short on time due to work but managed to get the following squeezed in and out of the gym for 7.15am. So today was the start of week3 of my own 2019 goals and that meant weight check. After last week's disappointment I was slightly nervous hoping for a 2lb reduction as I actually watched what I ate and trained hard. Thankfully the body responded this week and recorded a difference of 1.6kg 3.5lb... so that's 1.8kg 4lb in 2weeks. Very happy and hopefully that's the body woke up now and more to come. Well today was a later gym session than usual as youth rugby was back today and we had to go cheer on the CODRFC the Son's squad. The aim was to complete both back and shoulders today but after doing the db shoulder press it was clear the shoulders weren't ready for a second go this week so it was only back. I tried to get a few videos today purely to get feedback on form etc. Alot of better trained people out there and knowledge so spread the love if you have any hints, tips, suggestions etc Started with chin ups as usual although didn't make any progress since last week. Chin ups 4sets 5,5,5,3 (video of last) lat pulldown machine 4sets increasing weight 10,8,8,6 reps (video of 1st and 2nd) row machine 4sets increasing weight 12,10,8 8 (clip of 1st) single DB rows 4sets increasing weight 10 each set (clip of 1st set) Bent over BB rows 4sets maintaining weight 8reps each (clip of last) As I said I tried the shoulders today but very tight. Long way off my goals but at least its another session complete. Was very hard to drag myself to the gym this morning with a restless night sleep, the joys of having young children. The alarms kept coming and going until I misread the time and got up thinking it was half7 but really half6 so of course I went to the gym. Chest day it was Flat DB press 4sets increasing weight after each set 12,10,8,6reps Incline DB 4sets increasing weight after each set 10,10,8,7 Flat BB bench press 5sets due to low reps increasing weight until 3rd set and maintaining to end 10,7,4,4,4 Tried to hold the weight I normally would do if starting with BB bench press which was probably not the best idea but done. decline BB bench press 4sets maintaining weight 10reps each set PEC Deck 4sets increasing weight once after 1st set 10,10,8,8 incline BB press (chest was so tight) 3sets maintaining weight 5reps a set Really felt this workout both from being tired and mixing up my usual routine. Another early start with a 4.45am alarm, breakfast and gym for 6am. LEG DAY I started with squats this week to try and work them into my bigger leg session instead of doing them separate. Form still isn't 100% but better than last week so I didn't go over 100kg. Today started as always with an early alarm but it was 5am today as no breakfast as I have a breakfast work meeting today which meant I went to the gym on an empty stomach which is something I hate doing unless it's for cardio. Arms were the focus today. I was short on time as had to drive for 70mins to get to the first meeting so I did super sets alternating between Biceps and Triceps Superset Cable curls and rope push downs 4 sets Increasing weight on each set 15,12,10,8 reps superset db hammer curls and vbar push downs 4sets increasing weight on each set for tris and only once for Biceps and maintained 3rd and 4th. But not being able to do simple tasks such as sitting down and standing up by myself, really messed with my mental state in action sports. I am forever grateful for the people that went out of their way to take care of me for the two months i was stuck on a couch. 2018 really didn’t go how i planned it to. So today was weight in day and I'm sure if you have already seen in my story I'm not overly happy... 1lb down but my count it's only .5lb so alot more work to go. Need to start monitoring the intakes a little closer so any good app recommendations send them over. Anyway onwards and upwards into week2 and let's see what it brings. This morning was all about working on form for squats and wide pull ups. Squats have always been a problem for me as my stance either hurts the back with over bending or the heels lift off the ground..but from speaking to a few people today I tried with a wide stance and yeah the back is fine and heels stay on the ground but looks weird to me. Need to work on stretches or something to get the feet narrower. Next was wide pull ups, can never get over 5 with the 5th being more a half rep..So did a few assisted pull ups with minimal weight and felt it which can only be a good thing. Did a few normal pull ups after to practise holding the negative so will work on this most days next week. What do you do when you have hit a wall in productivity and motivation? • • taking a break from everything can be refreshing but also crippling. I have had a great time on my break however my motivation and productivity have gone down hill in regards to my goals • • So what do you do? • • These are the 3 steps that I am going to take • • ➡️ 1 》 I am going to refer back to my goals for the next year. This will remind me of what I need to achieve • • ➡️ 2 》I will revise and revert back to my old daily schedule (as best as I can with my work). This will refocus my mind on getting back on track • • ➡️ 3 》lastly I will sit down and take the first task that needs to be done. I will close my eyes and take 10 deep breaths and then I will think about the exact thing that I am wanting to achieve in this very moment (@brendonburchard technique). I will start from the beginning of the task and take it step by step • • • 👊
