Being bipolar means you got to take care of yourself, even when it’s not fun. It’s YOUR responsibility. YOU are the master of your recovery and no one else. This picture was taken at an afternoon party where I didn’t exaggerate and drank a reasonable amount of alcohol, where everyone partied until 5am while I went to bed at 10pm. I coud have drank more. I could have stayed late in the night. But I chose to listen to my body, to be reasonable, and to take care of myself. I’m going to applaud myself for being so good: yayyyy me 💐👏🏻💜

I used to say "yes" to just about everything. I lot of people really benefited and saved time from that habit of mine--people except for me. I had hours of extra work to do to edit, organize, write, plan, or show up for things that didn't serve me well and made me feel guilty for neglecting or missing-out on something else. ⁣ *I've gotten a lot better at saying "no" and not feeling bad about that. One day at work I noticed a colleague laughing and enjoying his workout. I was taking a break from writing a report he said he needed help with. Guess who didn't have time to laugh it up or work out that day? ⁣ *There's a difference between offering help to a friend every now and then and becoming someone others learn to take advantage of, intentionally or not. You train them by your response. If it's OK with you, they certainly wont' stop. ⁣ *No one controls your schedule but you--when it really comes down to it. You can do or not do everything on your calendar. How does it serve you and what do you gain? Maintain balance in your giving, my friends, especially of your time.

Why did I create a hand cream for nurses? I created Code: Skin after dealing with dry cracked hands for years. I can’t even count the number of times I wash my hands in one shift. The soaps and sanitizers the hospital provides leave my hands even drier. While purchasing many different types of lotions, each for different components, I decided it to create my own. Our lotion combats again dry, cracked hands while providing a barrier to lock in moisture and prevent further water drying damage. Our lotion is nurse created and nurse approved! // Always make time to do what makes your soul happy. ❤️ - Sometimes adult life can get in the way of doing more of what we love and it can be easy to forget about the much needed "me time"🥰 I am a huge fan of selfcare and making time to do things that really light me up.✨ Think back to when you were young, what did you really love doing? Can you bring anything back into your life? Whether that's dancing in your bedroom to S Club 7 and Avril Laveigne (why the hell not?!) Reading the Harry Potter books over again or painting maybe? - bring it back in to your life✨ I love painting and drawing, I was always painting something new everyday and creating new outfit designs for my little pencil drawn dolls when I was young, I later went on to study art and also fashion textiles at A-level. However, once I went to university, I went through a phase of not doing the creative things I loved and instead focused on exams, writing essays and staying up preparing for my dissertation about political decisions affecting children's health till the early hours! Although I loved uni, I stopped all forms of creating which is a big thing to me as I have always been a very creative person! Over the past couple of years I have started creating more, especially even more so recently! I have been making time to get back into painting which I am loving! I find it so therapeutic too! (plus you don't have to be any good at the things you love either! You just have to do what you enjoy and have fun with it). I love reading books, being creative by painting, doing yoga, cooking healthy vegan meals and planning (I do love a list!), walking, exploring new countries, listening to podcasts in the bath, reading psychologies magazine with a green tea 👌, spending time with friends and family, snuggling my beautiful dogs (aka my children)! These things won't be everyone's cuppa tea but it's what makes me happy personally.😊 Always do whatever it is that lights you up!❤️ Make sure you make time in your day to do more of what makes YOU happy! ✨

𝐵𝒶𝓁𝒶𝓃𝒸𝑒⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ Tell your body how much you love it until it becomes as routine as brushing your teeth! ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ How often do you tell your body you love it? ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ When I first looked at this photo I started to criticise my pose, I know from my @yoga_london foundation course that my foot is off and I felt frustrated that I’m not where I want to be in yoga 🧘🏼‍♀️ ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ ⠀ My ribs/ collar bone are showing on my chest which I’m uncomfortable with after loosing weight on my top half, due to having ovary problems last year. It’s a constant reminder of how my body let me down, my knee isn’t bent to the right angel and my hairs in my face BUT then I realised there is balance...⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ In this moment I was balancing my body and my emotions, in this moment I was enjoying being in the moment and there is beauty in that. In this moment I was grateful to be standing in this incredible place. Once I started to see the beauty I become more confident with my body and how it looked, so please next time you look at a picture of yourself and start to pick it apart for whatever reason, learn to love your body even when you don’t like it. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ Today I joined the #burpeesforbreakfast challenge in aid of #mentalhealthawarenessweek and did burpees to get myself moving and feeling good. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ Self Love is a journey but one worth going on and continuing to work towards 💕⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ You are never alone, we are all in this together.
